Dream Cat 9A cabins

I would love to have this thread have all the pics of the different Cat 9A rooms...because they are different. For example...in 8504 you can see the bathroom is across from the bed....but the in first pics of the other Cat 9A room the closet is where the bathrooms are anyone know what cabin # that is of?

So if you have stayed in any of the Cat 9A corner (OR regular) rooms....please post your pics. Here are the Cat 9A CORNER ROOMS.

8006 Portside
8504 Starboard - have pics

6006 Portside (handicapped)

From Timon's trip report thread.....

I love the space in this room, but not the slanted ceilings. Our master bedroom at home has ceilings like that -- so definitely want something more open when I sail. ;) Also don't like the bathrooms being right in the room with the bed rather than in the hallway. And looks like because of the large sill surrounding the porthole on the outside, isn't it hard to see out and down? :confused3

Thanks for posting.

:)

We have one of these rooms booked for our 1st cruise but not a corner room. We are on deck 6, rooms 6000 and 6002 connecting rooms facing the front of the ship. I haven't seen any of these rooms either and am wondering how the slop will be?? Anyone seen these rooms yet??? I hope the slop isn't that bad:scared1:

Different strokes for different folks. Not a stateroom I would choose. Too dark and claustrophobic for me!

My husband insists on a verandah but I think I'd prefer this room if we were to do a porthole room. With two little ones (2 and 3 months) the first thing I see if sooo much floor space to fit the crib and for little ones to play.

I was in room 7502 on the Feb. 20 cruise. I didn't think I would like it after seeing pictures before I left but I have to admit, it was great. So much more floor space. The angled wall never bothered me once I was in the room. I did however hit my head once while packing. My sister-in-law was in room 7004 and loved it so much so booked the corner 9A room (for even more room) for 2 upcoming cruises.

I will be in 8502 in June, was the room big enough for 3 people?

Thanks

I couldn't imagine not having the privacy curtain! My kids wake up when I turn on the bed side lamp to read. For this reason regular hotel rooms don't work for us (or we book 2 connecting).

Yes I would say it is big enough for 3 people. On this cruise my sister-in-law was in the exact room opposite side of boat and there were 3 of them. Plenty of room. She is taking her granddaughter in Oct. and is getting the corner 9A room which she saw on this cruise, it was even bigger. But yes, this room would fit 3 people just fine.

I agree that they look SOO much bigger than a regular OV room I'd book one in a heartbeat!! We don't really ever use the privacy curtain anyway. And as has been pointed out you don't get one in a regular hotel room or in a DVC studio...not a big sticking point for us... But extra floorspace!? I'd take that in a NY minute!

Based on the pictures MJ posted, I booked 8504 for our first cruise (in almost 2 years). I worked on cruiseships a million years ago and all I remember is being cramped with 2 people (I can't imagine 4! and with the way I pack!). :rotfl:

But the DCL rep and my TA (who is going by what the DCL rep is saying) are insisting that 8504 has two windows on the Fantasy, when clearly the Dream 8504 has only one. Any thoughts on this?

I guess it is possible that there could be some design changes....but I would think that 8504 would be the same as the Dream....we will have to wait awhile to find out!!!

That cabin looks huge to me. i wouldn't mind it. And for the record, i'd definitely stay there for free. heeh :lmao:

The title of this thread really scared me! :rotfl:

For our May Dream cruise we are GTY in cat 9A. I would LOVE a corner room. So, I guess that means we'll get one of the non-corner 9As!

P.S. Thanks for posting the pics of these rooms.

My pictures above are a little large, sorry I have never posted a picture before. I forgot to take a picture of the closets which were behind the opened front door. Didn't think I would like this room, but I ended up loving it. I would book it again..

Correct me if I'm wrong, but aren't these the handicap accessible rooms? Makes sense, if so. And YES, I would stay in there for free! Heck, if it was decent weather, I'd camp out on deck for free!:)

EDITED ON 2/20/12 TO REFLECT NEW CATEGORIES BELOW...WERE 9A's now as listed below.

Cabin 7502 is not a handicapped room....

On Deck 7 Cabin 7500 is the only forward facing Cat 9C that is handicapped.

On Deck 8 Cabin 8500 is the only forward facing Cat 9C that is handicapped

On Deck 6 Cabin 6500 is the only forward facing Cat 9D that is handicapped....but the two corner rooms Cabins 6006 (Port) and 6504 (Starboard) are also handicapped rooms

According to this deckplan.

No, this room was not handicap accessible. The room next to this was, it had a different KTTW card sensor and a doorbell.
