Double Magic Bands- which ones do we use?

Hi!

We had scheduled a trip for last Sept, and received our Magic Bands for that trip, but then had to cancel the trip.

I just booked a new trip for next month, and got the emails telling me to customize magic bands and book fast passes.

A couple of weeks went by, and I didn't receive new Magic Bands, so I figured they knew we still had our old ones and didn't send new ones ( the last time our Magic Bands arrived 2 days after we customized them, so I figured we would have gotten them by now)

I went ahead and booked Fastpasses and it all went smoothly.

This afternoon, I was surprised to find our new Magic Bands were delivered.

So how can I tell which magic bands have our fastpasses on them? Do I need to bring both sets of Magic Bands to WDW with us so guest relations can tell which bands we should be using for this trip?

either set will work...but I suggest you try them right away after you check in.

We were at Saratoga Springs in early January, late January and just this week. Each time we had two guests with us (adult children & their spouses/significant others) so we got new bands each time for all 4 of us. I did not see an option to re-use the old ones when customizing the guests' bands (it may have been there & I just didn't see it.)

Band worked fine for the first trip & the second trip...but this 3rd trip, Mickey seemed to be totally confused about my husband's band. It was not working for charging right off after check-in. He went back to front desk twice to get it fixed and a manager finally figured out the system was not "seeing" the newest band. It was showing his previous band as being the active band. Once they de-activated all previous bands he did not have trouble with charging on the band after that.

Funny thing was...I had the same circumstances, but the system just saw my newest band, not the previous ones. So I don't know if his glitched or what.

Right now they are sending/giving MBs for every single hotel reservation made. They are sent by a certain day, not immediately after customization is done. The first time you might have customized them very shortly before they were due to be sent out, but the second time you had a longer period of time before they were sent.

Either set should work.

Due to different hotel reservations and me thinking I'd left my first band at home (was given a grey one at the desk), I have all colors but yellow. My son is missing two or three colors. We brought them all, and used them based on what we felt like wearing that day. They worked every time. No glitching. All should work (like yours did), and any problems are just because there's a problem, not because of a policy change. :)

At least for now. ;)
 

Maybe off-topic, I don't know.

My brother is going to have a 2-night stay in POR before transferring to campground to stay in our trailer. Is it going to be difficult to make FP+ for him for both ressies with same ticket media?
 
Since you cancelled your previously trip and never actually used the bands, you just may want to double-check that they are still active on your account:

1. Go to www.disneyworld.com


2. Click the "MyDisneyExperience" in the upper right to open the menu.
From the menu, look in the "My Account" section and select "MagicBands and Cards"

3. Login (if you haven't already)


This page will show any active MagicBands and tickets for everyone listed on your account. If you see a band in there, you can use it in the parks. If multiple bands are showing, you can use any or all of them. If your previous band doesn't show up in there, you won't be able to use it.
