It's raining, my DH has the day off from work (without pay - machine broke) and I have a sinus headache, but I am super HAPPY!!!

We finally got new flights booked out of our local airport (30 min. from home) and we are now flying on Thursday night getting in after 11:15pm. A full day in FL, going to MNSSHP rested and maybe the Rain Forest Cafe at DTD for lunch. :cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2:

Hotel is booked at $99 a night (includes tax and breakfast for the 6 of us).

Van rentals from and to airport booked. :dance3: :dance3:

Excursions and 2 day float rentals booked. :yay: :yay:

Now to buy MNSSHP tickets. Any suggestions on the best site to get tickets online?

Favorite TV show:

Me: Hogan's Heroes or anything with forensics in it
dd Sadie: Naruto
ds Sigurd: Naruto
dd Madalyn: Ni Hao Kaolin
ds Alex: not sure yet.

On the gty: I'm going to check to see if we're assigned, and let you know.

Julie

I bought our tickets from Disney had them in my hands within 2 weeks. Great news on e/t working out:cool1: :cool1:

For formal night: the ds's might be in tuxes, or suits. Depends if I get around to getting them measured and ordering the tux.

Question When people booked the two day floats for CC- did it show that you booked it both days? For me, it's only showing up the first day.

And we got our gty assigned: 6622.

Thanks.......a big burden over with. It took me an hour on the phone with Delta to get a refund from the original tickets.

Hey Val - did you watch second season when Heather won?

Yep! We started watching in that season. :)
I think Petrozza will win this year, I dont think Christina will win, she doesnt have the experience. Even though she has been my favorite female.

We've known Heather for almost forever - she grew up a few houses away and used to babysit our two boys when they were younger. We were so excited when she won. She went to Disney with us last year. My dh and our two boys visited her in Vegas - she's a doll. I miss her so much. It's funny, I just texted her about the January trip we're putting together and then I saw your post. I was hoping she'd be home for the 4th of July - but no luck this year.

I can't watch the show anymore - the show stresses me out. Gordon Ramsey was wonderful to Heather. She flew to London and met his family. She did some HSN work for him - she said he's just an amazing guy. He actually filmed a Kitchen Nightmares show at a restaurant close by and my dh and I ended up as background people - it was such a fluke that he ended up in Heather's hometown to work on his other show.

Was that your cat or an upgrade?

TV shows:

Jen & Ron: Rescue Me
Brendan: Ben10 Alien Force & iCarly
Savannah: Tom & Jerry

OK these questions are getting downright hard for me to answer. I can't make a decision about anything so just about any question that starts with "what is your favorite...." is somethign I won't be able to answer. I'm too greedy and I want to name everything!! :rotfl:

OK...so Jason isn't around right now but I'll answer for him: he likes anything Sci-Fi or educational...he loves Eureka, all the Stargate and Star Trek series, Kyle XY, stuff like that. He will also watch anythign on Discovery (Mythbusters, How It's Made, etc.) or the History Channel.

Me? That's a much harder question to answer!! I'm an unashamed couch potato!! (Actually...I live a very active lifestyle so I'm not technically any kind of a potato :lmao: ...but I definitely an unashamed TV ADDICT!! I adore TV..lots of it...all the time. I almost can't stand to be around a TV that isn't turned on...:rotfl: .......so my favorite shows? Who knows...but here are some GENRES of shows I love:

1.) Any show where a woman can kick butt (I loved Wonder Woman, the Bionic Woman, Xena, etc. as a kid....as an adult I've loved shows like Alias, Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Heroes, etc.)
2.) Any show that is somewhat supernatural and has an interesting plot that has to be closely followed (Jason and I are addicted to Lost and Heroes and shows like that)
3.) Any reality competition show that involves TALENT (so I'm not that into Big Brother, Amazing Race, etc.....but I absolutely LOVE shows like Design Star, Project Runway, So You Think You Can Dance, Step Up and Dance, Shear Genius, Top Chef, and even America's Next Top Model)
4.) Any show with high camp value (like Top Model, etc.)
5.) There are network drama & comedy shows that I/we love, too. Some of those include: Ugly Betty, Pushing Daisies, Desperate Housewives, Brothers & Sisters, etc.
6.)

So as you can see....there's an awful lot of TV for me to love! hehehe

It was our cat, so no upgrade for us.

Julie

Hey,

I've taken the liberty of adding your room # (6622) to my lanyard list. This serves as a good reminder to everyone, though, that if you booked as a GTY cabin....once you find out your room # please send an email or a PM to me so that I can make sure my list is accurate. (I can't promise that I'll catch every individual post here on the main boards like Julie's...so please don't rely on having posted it to the thread and think that means I got the info. Sending a PM is a guaranteed way to be sure I know your room # so you can get your lanyards! :thumbsup2 )

Also a reminder to any lurkers out there who haven't yet responded.....i am starting to print the name badges THIS WEEKEND....so if you haven't replied to my PM's by Friday, July 11th then I will assume that your info is correct and I will use the info I have to print your group's lanyard name badges.

Dh: Lost and 24, and anything sports
Me: The Biggest Loser, American Idol, ER, Grey's Anatomy
Rachel: Wizards of Waverly Place
Matthew: Ben 10

I'm finally caught up! I started reading on Double Dip thread #2 and was shocked that it was only 245 pages or so. I thougt to myself that everyone must have left for vacation on the 4th. Once I got near the 245th page I found this thread. When I started reading today it only showed 11 pages, but I ended up reading all 16

Camping was a blast! Doug went fishing at least 2 times a day and the campground had a great pool. We were about 2.5 hours from Raleigh towards the mountains in Statesville, NC and with the exception of the first and last days the weather was great! We will have a lot more camping trips in our future. We even went to a Gem mine last Thursday and played in the mud all day! We found some great rocks. We are even having 2 garnets that we found cut. They said they will be here in about 28 weeks, but before Christmas.

I am behind about 3 weeks on the question of the week:

Favorite Color:

Me: Anything Purple
Doug: NC State Red
Grady: he changes, sometimes blue, sometimes red
Megan: Cinderella Blue

Favorite song:

Me: Anything sung by Phil Collins! (Tarzan and Brother Bear soundtracts)
Doug: ?
Grady: Fineous and Ferb beginning song. He sang it a lot the closer we got to summer vacation!
Megan: Anything from Cinderella and Little Mermaid

Favorite TV Show:

Me: Ugly Betty (I'm not sure how I got hooked on it)
Doug: Mythbusters, Iron Chef, How it's Made - Stuff like that
Grady: Grady watches what his Daddy likes and the Disney Chanel
Megan: Anything on the Disney Chanel

I know I'm behind, but I don't mind sharing my stateroom # too. We are with the small group on deck 5 in SPH 5524.

We booked our excursions and Palo reservations, but everything is subject to change when our friend Keven books at 75 days. He talked us into booking some things with him, but if he can't get them we might try to go back to plan A.

So far we are booked on:

CC day 1 - Doug Bottom Fishing
The kids and I are doing the stingray adventure and we reserved bikes

GC - Pirate Encounter

Coz - Discover Mexico and Chanakanaab

CC day 2 - Seahorse Catamaran Snorkel

And as of right now we have Palo Dinner for Tuesday evening.

Now to start packing! Thanks Jen for the great spreadsheet! I saved it and plan to add my packing list to it.

Have a nice day everyone!

Tiffany

ALSO PM ME, for Secret Mickey's and Fish Extender list to be updated! sorry didnt want it to not get noticed for myself and Erik LOL

Hey Tiffany what time did you book the Pirate excursion we are doing that one also. Well when I get to book in 6 more days woohoo!

QOTW:

DH: Will watch anything on television. ANYTHING. He is a TV addict of the highest order - reminds me of Brian Benben on that HBO show, which I can't remember the name of now. :sad2: With that said, his favorite things to watch are football, WWE wrestling (any wonder that I'm online so much in the evenings? LOL), as well as a few decent things like CSI and Heroes. We also have 67 episodes of Get Smart on our Tivo. :sad2:

Me: I love reality TV, particularly the Bravo shows (Project Runway, Top Chef, Flipping Out) but not the high-drama live-together type shows (Real World, Big Brother, Survivor, etc.). I also love Grey's Anatomy, Ugly Betty, ER, and my very favorite show is Meerkat Manor.

Dexter: A TV addict just like his daddy. His favorites are old school cartoons (Pink Panther, Tom and Jerry), construction/destruction shows (How It's Made, Build It Bigger, How Do They Do It?), and kid stuff (Curious George, Veggie Tales). His very very favorite show is Cyberchase.

Celeste: Dora. And more Dora. Then maybe some Curious George or Clifford, before returning to Dora.

Hey Tiffany what time did you book the Pirate excursion we are doing that one also. Well when I get to book in 6 more days woohoo!

We are booked at the 9:30 am time slot. We are morning people and want to have plenty of time to visit the Rum Cake store! Keven said he will need a lot of extra suitcase space for his Rum Cakes he is bringing home. :lmao:

Tiffany

My favorite TV Show by far is Seinfeld. I watch it everynight to fall asleep because I have almost all of them memorized. We have the DVR and I have about 34 episodes recorded.

DH loves Hell's Kitchen
Together we like to watch Seinfeld, Deadliest Catch, Ice Road Truckers, Travel Channel.

:cool1: I just paid off the rest of our cruise:cool1:

:woohoo:

Glad ya'll like the spreadsheet:cutie: .

The drink of the day.....that is the only thing I am not 100% about. I got them out of the most recent Western Navigators (that was not Mexican Riviera, so it was from the end of April.) That's why I put a question mark by the one on day 2, as it appeared to be geared towards Key West (Key Lime Margarita)...and I don't know if they will change to a more Castaway Cay appropriate drink or not. For that one, we will just have to wait and see...
I don't dare call 'em up and ask them to please list all of the drinks of the day for me....;)

Ok.....we need an official "DOTD caller" to find this out for us! :rolleyes1 what?
Jen, I downloaded your spreadsheet! I love it! Even Lionel loved it, which is rather impressive. Though I think he admires it more for the mad excel skillz than the actual content, being a computer teacher....

Hey it is Monday and I am actually remembering to post a Question of the week! It seems we talk a lot about television shows on this thread. So. . .
What is your favourite TV show (past or present)?

This is a tough one, because my tastes change so much! Lionel picked Dr. Who, hands down (the new BBC version). I love it too, but I can't say if it is my favorite of all time or not. Hmm. I LOVED Spaced, which was a Channel 4 show from Britain. It was done by the guys who did Shaun of the Dead and Hot Fuzz. It was soooooooo funny. It still makes me laugh, and it was like 10 years ago.
Lionel also says Firefly. I might throw in X-Files, since we are doing "of all time" - I was quite the junkie in its heydey, but I don't know if I'll go see the new movie. Maybe DVD?

We've known Heather for almost forever - she grew up a few houses away and used to babysit our two boys when they were younger. We were so excited when she won. She went to Disney with us last year. My dh and our two boys visited her in Vegas - she's a doll. I miss her so much. It's funny, I just texted her about the January trip we're putting together and then I saw your post. I was hoping she'd be home for the 4th of July - but no luck this year.

That's so awesome! Lionel and I are big fans of the show, and we wanted her to win from the beginning! So she has (at least) two fans in Florida :thumbsup2

This year we are rooting for Petrozza, because we think he really deserves it. I think Chef respects him a lot, despite his grubby sleeves ;) Christina seems like she needs a little more time. We do like her, but lately she's been getting a little mouthy about her talent. I like a little bit of humility in a chef :thumbsup2

We are booked at the 9:30 am time slot. We are morning people and want to have plenty of time to visit the Rum Cake store! Keven said he will need a lot of extra suitcase space for his Rum Cakes he is bringing home. :lmao:

Tiffany

I am so glad we are not the only ones for whom this is a priority.....:rolleyes1

The rum cake.

I love rum.

I love cake.

Why is it I can't wrap my head around this rum cake? I keep having visions of fruit cake dancing through my head (and they're not pleasant visions - LOL).

Is it like pound cake soaked in rum?

What would I do without these boards? Seriously? First - I still have not technically been told by Disney that my port of call changed. I didn't get my planning guide until after my excursion booking window opened. And, now, rum cake. NO WHERE does Disney tell me anything about rum cake - as far as I know anyway.

You all rock.
