Hey,

I've taken the liberty of adding your room # (6622) to my lanyard list. This serves as a good reminder to everyone, though, that if you booked as a GTY cabin....once you find out your room # please send an email or a PM to me so that I can make sure my list is accurate. (I can't promise that I'll catch every individual post here on the main boards like Julie's...so please don't rely on having posted it to the thread and think that means I got the info. Sending a PM is a guaranteed way to be sure I know your room # so you can get your lanyards! :thumbsup2 )

Also a reminder to any lurkers out there who haven't yet responded.....i am starting to print the name badges THIS WEEKEND....so if you haven't replied to my PM's by Friday, July 11th then I will assume that your info is correct and I will use the info I have to print your group's lanyard name badges.

Sorry, obviously the previous post was meant for you, but I didn't know how to include the "quote". Live and learn! I do appreciate the lanyards. DIS-ers are the best! :woohoo:

Is anyone doing the Boatswain Beach shore excursion on your own? It seems so simple to find transportation and just go for it. Any suggestions or comments?

We have this excursion reserved thru Disney, but I am seriously considering cancelling it and doing it on our own to save a lot of $$$. For our family of 4, we would save almost $200.00 by doing it on our own, but would have to pay for a taxi which I am not sure the cost of.

Woohoo! Got the pre-cruise hotel booked through Hotwire. It finally came up when I searched ressies w/only 2 adults, no kids; different set of hotels came up for 2 adults, 1 child. Go figure. Anyway, we were able to book it for $76/night - a little more than 1/2 the rate on their website. I figure even if we end up w/1 king instead of 2 queens, we'll be alright. DD isn't that big & she ends up in our queen bed at home if there are thunderstorms overnight. :lmao:

Thanks for all your help w/the Hotwire descriptions, Drea!

What other times were offered? We also hope to do this!

It took all night, but Doug was finally able to get my computer to bring up the booking info.

There is a Pirate Encounter available for both the 9:30am time and the 11:45 time.

I do hate to be the bearer of bad news, but I only saw one Palo Reservation open at this time. I think Disney is doing a rotten thing only releasing 50% of the reservations at 105 days and making everyone else scramble when we get on the boat!

I'll be in line at rockin D's for Tea and Brunch Ressies with everyone!

I do have one quick question - Does Disney hold back any spots for Excursions for those who can't book online? Kevin can't book until the 75 day mark and all the Bottom Fishing spots are gone. Does that mean he is out of luck? Doug only want's to do this with him and not alone, but he couldn't book for Kevin.

For saving that much, my vote would be to book independently. How far is it from the pier? Is it as far as Rum Point? I remember from various previous posts that taxi fare to Rum Point was kinda pricey.

Amy- your poor daddy.. ill keep him in my thoughts for a quick and painless healing!

To the others that are doing the Pirate Excursion pirate: We too are hoping for the 9am slot to get it over and one with, that way we have more time to explore the island, and also stock up on the rum cakes :rolleyes1

So I tried calling Disney for the DotD breakdown... kind of glad it was past the hours to call... I could only Imagine how that conversation would have gone...

Hi Yes Im wondering what are the drinks of the day for the 7night western. Im trying to plan EVERY detail... the drink of the day?.. you know every day there is a certain alcoholic drink a tad cheaper... No I dont care what movie is playing... just want to know about the drink of the day?... no I dont care about you upgrading my stateroom.... I just want to know what my the drink of the day is?

Sorry to hear about your Dad's fall......poor guy. Sending pixie dust his way for a speedy recovery.

I had read that people were saying to take a small soft sided cooler so you will have it when you go into ports. I was looking on the Dis site and it says we can't take coolers. Are they talking about big coolers or even the soft sided ones? I was just wondering if people really do take sandwiches off to ship and put them in a cooler. I didn't think you could? :confused3

I can't believe that we are almost at the 75 day mark. For those of you who are booking at 75 days are you all doing Palo for dinner? I would love to try and do dinner, brunch, and tea, but I just can't decide on what night for dinner for the life of me which has me wondering if we should skip it or what? Is it worth skipping one of the other meals for it?

I think people do take sandwhiches off at times. I know I have heard several people say they do this to save money in port. That said--it is illeagal to do so in most ports. You CAN legally take anything which is prepackaged and still in its original unopened package (also water bottles are fine). Food that is not prepacakaged or has been opened cannot be legally taken off the ship (in most countries). This is done to prevent the spread of various crop disesases and bugs and the like. While you are highly unlikely to be caught taking something off, I do not like to risk it (nor the local crops). If you really want to take something off to at least snack on (or if you or a child has allergies and you want something you know is safe) I reccomend finding prepackaged things on the buffet such as chips, cereal boxes, etc. and take those with you.

Oh, and yes you may take a small soft sider cooler onboard (unless they have changed the rules recently). Personally we have never found the need for one but I see them with others always on embarkation day.

Edited to add: Upon rereading this it sounds like I am being critical of you asking the question. Please know that I am not at all. I know many, many people recomend taking lunch off the ship and most do not know the leaglity of it and the thought probably never corssed their minds that it could be illeagal (goodness it is just packing a lunch after all--we all do that pretty regularly at home don't we?). I think there is nothing wrong at all with having asked or not having know the above information and I just wanted to let you know to be on the safe side. :-)

DisneyGirl02--I hope your Dad is healing & his fall sounds like a big mess!

Thank you everyone for your kind words. I just found out that the break won't require surgery! He just needs to eat a soft diet.

OK...QOTW-

DBF- Smallville, Supernatural and Las Vegas

Me- the 90's Mickey Mouse Club, Will and Grace, Friends, American Idol, So You Think You Can Dance.

Me too! I got the update while I was typing my post. At least he can enjoy the Disney trip even if we have to cut his food up into little pieces. :)

HEY he might want to use it as an excuse to have lots of the dole bars and ice cream mickeys, at least that is what I would be trying to do. ;)

We are still in a GTY status:confused3 I am beginning to think we are going to be sleeping on Deck 4!!:rotfl2: :rotfl2:

As far as I'm concerned, I don't mind remaining a GTY until we check in. Seems like that would be more chance for an upgrade. (given that that would mean there were not free cabins in our category???) Whatever though, we will be happy with our category... especially since we've never had a "better" category... we don't know what we might be missing. :rotfl:
