I just did a Google search for "sarong plus size" and MANY sites came up. I looked at about 5 of them, and some are quite beautiful! It sounds like you've just looked locally. Have you tried that route yet, or do you not like to make on-line purchases?

I'll shop anywhere! Thanks for looking, now I just have to find something I like. UGH. Why can't we just go naked on the beach... oh, wait, I know why... might scare the fishes! LOL

We're in the same boat. No stateroom number. Or should I say, on the same boat. I crack myself up!

we don't have a number either. DH seems to think they will move us from our Cat7 to the Walt suite.....yeah right..but hey stranger things have happened :rotfl2:

Just wondering if anyone has received a Passport Card yet? We ordered the cards for the kids, but have not yet received them.

Yes, yes yes! Sorry, I know I said I would tell everyone when I got it but I totally forgot.

I got it about 3 weeks ago. I did apply in February, I believe in the very first week they began accepting the card applications.

Arin, your kiddos ones should be arriving soon!

Those are so cute, but, nothing in my size. :sad2:

Have you tried Torrid? Love them. Also Old Navy online has a plus section.
I've never shopped there but I've seen a lot of ads for Lane Bryant...they might have something too.

I hate, hate, hate how hard it is to find swimwear "out of season". You could also try googling for a swimwear-only type shop..I've used cyberswim.com before and that is a very good site. I found miraclesuits last year there on clearance for under $20...bought like 3 or 4. Unfortunately they are size 12...and (now) I'm not! :headache:

A woman after my own heart. *sigh* can we start that drink now. We've been hit by the last of FAye.....and it's dreay, grey and not so pretty in Cajun Country today and for the rest of the week actually. I'm SOOOOO looking forward to sun and sand and drinks and drinks and kids club and drinks..(yep...vacation can't get here soon enough).

Oh, I'm sorry she is "visiting" you guys in LA, but I tell you I don't miss Fay one bit. She hung around for almost a week! Our yard is still soaked. I started to walk between our house and the neighbors' this morning, and Lionel said "I wouldn't do that" - looked a little closer and we have a little miniature swamp in our yard! Hopefully we'll dry up soon, and hopefully she'll be out of your hair soon too! :thumbsup2

Anyone tried Newport News for suits and cover ups? I know they have plus size, and they usually have a pretty good selection. 4/5 of my bathing suits came from there. And as an added bonus, their cover ups run big. I ordered a small and I had to send it back because it was waaaay too big. I'm not really that small, I'd say average size (an 8), and I usually wear a medium, so.....maybe that helps? Plus, their exchange policy is pretty good :thumbsup2

Since I'm home, I might browse a little. You never know when you need a spare, right? Plus, I need something to do now that I'm not trolling ebay any more :rolleyes1

Jessica London also has reasonable prices and a nice plus size selection. I would look there as well.

If all else fails...find someone who sews to make something for you. Swim coverups are not very complicated and that would be one way to get exactly what you want.

Valerie I'm in the same boat as you (having the same name and all) Do you also get the really weird spellings? and I'm ALWAYS called Vicky....Valerie Vicky..yeah they are sooooo close. I was NEVER Val (except for one very good friend who called me Val) and now at work occasionaly I'm Val but for the most part it's always Valerie. I to wanted to change my name..just never could get my mom in on the deal. Now I'm glad at times...and at times I still think "what the heck was she THINKING":confused3

weird spellings?? all the time. my sil still puts in an A ...Valarie. I just tell people anymore Val..then Erie like the lake. (since we are in Ohio, Lake Erie is right here). and they still screw it up. :rotfl2: my favorite spelling is Valery. my oldest loves when people spell her name Gabriel. ( um.. that is a boys name.) you wouldnt call her Gabey.

I got my beach cover up at Kohls. they have plus sizes ones too. :)

wahhooooo, only one month til we leave for Disney. :cheer2:

You all should call me Maggie! No freakin' anyone out on this cruise!!! BTW - on Pirate night it doesn't matter where you are dining (well, maybe in Palo is does) but trust me you wont be alone if you are dressing up!

LOL!!!! Well, alright, Margaret. :rotfl:

Ok. Just seems a little strange to go into Lumiere's in grungy (clean, but grungy ...) pirate attire. :)

Remember you cannot take Shells from Castaway Cay.

You are most welcome to attend the tastings on board with the DIS group

Very good point, Chris. I guess I will HAVE to just stay there. :confused3 ;)

LOL!!!! I had a feeling I would be.

I agree on the insurance - don't want to lose the $$$$
And I apologize about saying passport were required. When I booked a cruise earlier this year passports were necessary, but it may have been a stipulation of the cruise line.
My son turned 21 in Marine Corps boot camp last year! ras-a-frasing rats! (Marines are okay - but this is my SON!)(And yes - I'm ex-NAVY!) I'm still pushing him to get a tourist passport so he can cruise with us next year.

No. For the $$$$$ we're paying, the insurance is *definitely* worth it.

No big deal on that. I am paranoid about the passports, and I checked 900 times before I was even close to comfortable going with only our birth certificates and ID.

I am determined to make sure Jared (my 17 yo ds) doesn't have his 18th at boot. Since he's homeschooled, *I'm* in control of when he graduates. :) I just won't let him graduate until after he's 18. Question - do they need a tourist passport if they are going to travel with family??

I've managed to keep my identity almost everywhere because of the volunteer work I do in church and at shcool, but Doug is known as Tiffany's Husband! :lmao: :lmao:

Tiffany

I've kept my identity, too. In fact, most people know my kids by who their mom is. :confused3 Guess I make myself known, huh??

We got upgraded to one of those rooms, oh about 6 years and 9 months ago...:rolleyes1

ROTFL!!!!!!

One of my magnets is a maritime flag sign that spells out a phrase. With all the talk about some of you taking advantage of the lessons to be learned during our adventure, perhaps this can be a learning opportunity as well. They can discover what each flag represents and look for them on our ship (I've seen many embellishing the pool area). Just a thought.

Neat idea. Could be a good learning experience for my kids .... and their mom. :)

In Georgia, we're very thankful to be getting the remnants of Fay!!! It's suppose to rain here for the next 3 days, and we're thrilled!!!!!!! Seriously..... we're really thrilled. We've been in such a bad drought for so long. :(

Hope everyone is having an awesome day!!!!! My family will be driving down a month from tomorrow. OH - we'll be staying at the Courtyard by Marriott on that Friday night. Just FYI on that.

Soooooo I was looking on David's Bridal web site and found some Beautiful dresses on sale in all sizes and colors.. Starting at $29.99

I am a Plus size and they even have my size on sale!!

:rolleyes1

How many of the ladies out there are actually going to be in full length gowns for formal night? I was planning on wearing one, but I don't want to overdo it. Any opinions? Are you planning on changing after dinner?
Thanks!

I have a formal dress but it is shorter, it is below my knee.. I am looking at full length gowns currently, thanks to some "nameless" people on this thread :headache:

Oh and Yes, we always change after dinner, unless we are going to the Cove or a stroll

Last year I wore a full length gown, this year I am not even packing dresses. ( doing Palo on formal night) have a nice pant suit for semi formal.

I know a bunch on this board will be dressed to the nines thanks to ebay!! :thumbsup2

Not me. I have a cocktail length and mid-length. Don't know which one I will wear which night yet.

We *always* change after show/dinner. Often into swimwear for the pools...:thumbsup2

I am in the process of buying a full length gown for formal night.

Got it! ;) I'll put a new list out on the website at the end of the week or over the weekend.

How many of the ladies out there are actually going to be in full length gowns for formal night?...

I will be in a full-length formal. Grandmother will as well. I still don't know what DM's wearing. I don't know if SHE knows what she's wearing yet. (Are you lurking out there, Mom?) I did point her to eBay and told her Erica said so.

Personally, I like to stay dressed up after dinner, especially when strolling up on deck. It's not often that I get to be so dressed up, so I like making the whole evening an affair. Sometimes I'll change a couple of hours after dinner...depends on what becomes of the nightly agenda.

Me! Mine is full-length, very simple. I'm planning on wearing it until I've had enough. I do have a coctail length as well but I'm using that for semi formal night ;)

Come to think of it......I don't have anything new for Palo!

Back to ebay.......don't tell Lionel! :rolleyes1

I'm doing a full length gown just got it back from the tailors last week. Mom will have a full length evening dress as well. I'm way excited to get all dressed up.

Hey Gals, I'm looking for a good cover-up. Something to wear on the excursions, walking off to CC and around the pool. I'm plus size. Anyone seen anything good out there? I can't find a thing here in Smallbany.

I got mine from Lane Bryant this past Spring. I would suggest Land's End to you as well as Avenue.
