My sil has gluten allergies. there is wheat in soo much stuff you dont think about. (soy sauce is a big one). She also has a nut allergies.

Any newbies in the f/es have any allergies?

Are you dressing up or are you just taking the one little number that has his eyes popping out? I don't know if I can still fit in the two fancy blouses and long skirt I wore this Spring. IF they still fit (and fit in my suitcase) I guess I shoulde bring them along. It's not like I have anywhere else to wear them.

My son wants to go to Ireland. I have told him for years that I would pay half if he'd pay the other half and get his passport. Maybe one day we will go there together.

*primp* ALL my dresses make his eyes pop out, Mom. Honestly, I don't know what I'm packing yet. I think the washable "little black dress" and the hoity-toity grey dress will probably get packed. I don't know if I'm bringing any of the others. Fiona's going to have at least the Sleeping Beauty and possibly the Cinderella dress.

Your son-in-law is bringing his mandarin collar tux and probably his suit. *eye waggle* I'm depending on you backing me up with the wolf whistles and paparazzi camera flashes. You know him, he'll love it... and then he'll get even with us. We have to make it worth his while to pack and haul those. He's feeling put upon because I asked him if he wanted his DISBoards login to be DW's_Packmule... He laughed and then said, "Waaaait..."

If my stinker of a little brother makes it to Dublin before me... *glare* I'll just have to... something... I'll think of something...

I'm planning on wearing a full length, but simple, Chinese patterned gown with a Mandarin style jacket. Nothing fancy. IF it gets here in time. It's currently in China.

Boys are wearing tuxes. Big girl wearing a gown she wore for our marriage blessing last year (think My Big Fat Greek Wedding without all the lamb- we had Southern barbecue instead). Little girl is wearing the white and pink flower girl dress she wore in her cousin's wedding. We're a family that loves to dress up. Since I'm home with them, I don't dress up much.

We finally got our cruise docs today. Not much in it, since we checked in on line.

Alex's surgery is Thursday, so I'll be absent for a few days. Don't talk too much.

Tonya...luggage tags. It depends on how you are getting to the port. I'm sure you are flying so depending on when and how you are arriving at the terminal I would put them on after your flights but before arriving at the terminal. Even the passporter says wait to put them on at the port but that suprised me...they take your luggage as soon as you enter the terminal drive. I can imagine none of us want to be standing outside the car applying tags while the porter waits and while everyone else is strolling in. So my advice is to put them on before you leave for the port.

Anybody notice Gustav out there? Geez. Get 'em in and out before we cruise is all I have to say!

NTHEORY - I turned 18 in Navy boot camp in Orlando, of all places. I highly encourage your son to take at least 1 year of college, junior college, tech school, whatever you can talk him into, before he enlists. My son wishes he had had at least some college credits under his belt before he enlisted, and I'll bet any Marine will tell your son that, too.

As far as the passports, if a military member or government employee is taking a trip on their own personal time, they are just another tourist. Now if it is military or government orders, they will be issued a military passport if necessary. BUT the military passport should not be used for personal travel. In some countries the government ID card is enough; in other places, not having a passport would be a problem.

Yeah, many people have told him to do that, but he refuses. He wants to go straight in and will not consider college first.
