Ohhh...ohhh...can I be in the Shell club?

Remember you cannot take Shells from Castaway Cay.

Not a computer genious but I think it has something to do with a 'cookie' on your computer...at least that's what my Dh said....:sad2:

Mmmmm. Cookies. :surfweb:

Ummm ... you can have mine. I know I'm the minority here:upsidedow , but I don't drink at all. :flower3:
:)

You are most welcome to attend the tastings on board with the DIS group

We have insurance because we didn't want to take a chance of getting sick or something and losing that much money. Even our deposit was non-refundable.

We *do not* have passports. We aren't required for almost another year, and since we booked so late, we didn't even try to get one. We may do that in the next year or so just in case we need them again. My ds, though, is going into the Marines, so I guess I won't get him one.

Way to go!!!! I hope you reach - and surpass - your goal. Let us know how you do today.

I agree on the insurance - don't want to lose the $$$$
And I apologize about saying passport were required. When I booked a cruise earlier this year passports were necessary, but it may have been a stipulation of the cruise line.
My son turned 21 in Marine Corps boot camp last year! ras-a-frasing rats! (Marines are okay - but this is my SON!)(And yes - I'm ex-NAVY!) I'm still pushing him to get a tourist passport so he can cruise with us next year.

Arin - Best wishes to your family. Good luck on your yard sale.

Wow...you guys were chatty today! :thumbsup2

I went to Atlantic City with my DBF, MagicMe and MagicMe's DS. It was so much fun! We spent some time in the casinos and my DBF even won and ended up ahead! :) It was his first time in AC so it was quite exciting. His favorite casino (and mine as well) is Wild, Wild West which is a Bally's Casino. The theming is so great and it sort of reminds me of WDW in a way!

I kept thinking today when we were looking out at the ocean that the next time I see the ocean we will be getting on the Magic! :yay: :yay: :yay: I can't wait!!!!!

Even though we had dinner at Johnny Rockets, we did sample some boardwalk food - a funnel cake and a piece of pizza. My DBF got a sausage sandwich and brought it home...he just ate it now and it was still warm!

I'm going to sleep well tonight! :)

Good night everyone!

For those of you who still want that perfect, travel-proof "little black dress", check out Cold Water Creek. They have a very nice one in the Travel Knit department. That store is a menace to my pocketbook! :lmao:

Has anyone stayed in the Radisson in one of the King jacuzzi suites? I just booked one for the night before the cruise! $136 w/ military discount!

See!!! I told you. Most kids *do* want to change their names at some point.

I in this club also! In Jr High I decided that I did not like Tiffany anymore and started to go by my middle name Ann. After I graduated HS and got a job, my employer never asked what name I went by and had my name tag engraved with Tiffany. I switched back to Tiffany and never looked back! :rotfl:

Yeah....I wanted to change my name to Roxanne because there was a popular song with that name in it...and that was a rare name to come by at the time....I loved the name and I loved the song even more...Hahaa

My Youth Group Leader was named Roxanne! We used to sing the song to her all the time. She loved it! :lmao:

I too am known as 'Mrs. Avery's Mommy' at school and just about everyone else who know's my (almost) 4 y/o little guy.

I've managed to keep my identity almost everywhere because of the volunteer work I do in church and at shcool, but Doug is known as Tiffany's Husband! :lmao: :lmao:

I made all 10 of us Pirate shirts I am SOOOOOOOOOO proud of myself, they turned out GREAT, I did a tank for me and crissi's sister!

Drea: We are going to get along GREAT!!!!!!!!!!!! I am going to write a note to the school and let them know about our trip, I will have the kids do what work that is sent!

How about some pictures???

As far as school work is concerned I wanted Grady to have as much free time to get involved in Club activities as possible, so we are working on a report about Castaway Cay now that we will finish up after we return - adding pictures and such. And we bought a great world atlas and some post it tabs to mark off what countries Cast Members are from. He will be able to read about their countries each day and keep a journal of all the different places and interesting things he learned about. I remember how much there was to do when Doug and I were on our 3 day and just don't think there will be time to do much else without missing a lot of fun stuff. I've taught K and 1st grades and know that a lot of the work that would be sent home will not mean much without the actual lessons the teacher presented and will be busy work. I would much rather Grady learned something that he might actually enjoy doing and seems more like part of the vacation. He loves to read and will be doing that each day also. I'm not worried about Megan missing anything from Kindergarten. We worked a lot this summer on letters and sounds and will be making a DCL - ABC book to turn in.

Just my own personal opinion though. I know how important school is, but feel the fact that our kids get to experience the world (even if it is just cruise ports in the Caribbean) will gain more than kids who just get to read about other countries in books.

Hey Gals, I'm looking for a good cover-up. Something to wear on the excursions, walking off to CC and around the pool. I'm plus size. Anyone seen anything good out there? I can't find a thing here in Smallbany.

I just did a Google search for "sarong plus size" and MANY sites came up. I looked at about 5 of them, and some are quite beautiful! It sounds like you've just looked locally. Have you tried that route yet, or do you not like to make on-line purchases?

BUT moooommmmm....... ERICA STARTED IT!!! LMAO :rotfl2:

:rolleyes1

Ha, we live in Nuremberg, well Oberasbach is next to Nuremberg, in Germany we say: So klein ist die Welt. It's a small world! ;)

Oliver

Wow! How funny is that? You and my DH will have lots to talk about :goodvibes

Happy Monday, everyone. I am home for the morning nursing my "little" (76 pound) dog who SPRAINED HIS TAIL. Seriously. There is a big swollen area at the base of his tail, but the vet said there was no fracture. And then yesterday? He lifted his leg up to pee on a tree, and somehow hurt his hip.

We must have the most accident prone dog in Florida. A few months ago we woke up to snuffling sounds, and he was having an allergic reaction to SOMETHING (we assume a spider bit him or something but still have no idea). What would this dog do without us? :confused3

Now, where exactly did you see these business cards...I have GOT to get me some of those.....:rolleyes1

Dunno about the "Mommy Cards" site... But check out http://moo.com They have the COOLEST little half business cards. You can print whatever you want on one side, and put a picture on the other side. They come in boxes of 100, and you can put a different picture (same text) on EVERY ONE if you want.

Can I wear a tank top for Pirate night? I made all 10 of us Pirate shirts I am SOOOOOOOOOO proud of myself, they turned out GREAT,

Ahem! pictures please! I'm planning on making us pirate tees as well... (Yeah, I've never silkscreened before, but I'm sure gonna try)

I already spoke to my kids' teachers....they won't give us assignments for when they are gone...they say it is not school policy. :confused3 I think that is strange...but hey...the kids are happy!

Must remember to mention this to DDs teacher today at open house! God, I'm so freaked out about this new school... it's a million miles from our house, and I'll have to drive down the busiest road in town to get there, during rush hour EVERY SINGLE DAY. ugh.

Mmmmm. Cookies. :surfweb:

Ha ha! I just ate a tollhouse cookie for breakfast... Now I feel . I should know better than to try and eat breakfast...

Has anyone stayed in the Radisson in one of the King jacuzzi suites? I just booked one for the night before the cruise! $136 w/ military discount!

We got upgraded to one of those rooms, oh about 6 years and 9 months ago...:rolleyes1

Well, I'm not plus sized, but I LOVE LOVE LOVE my sarong (and hate hate hate my thighs!). I usually wear it as a skirt and wear a white button down shirt over my suit on top. Best thing is that both the sarong and shirt dry very quickly if they get wet. I've also been known to tie the sarong to my beach chair. If the wind blows, it's easy to see... sort of like a flag marking my stuff.

Ok, I'm the one who couldn't get logged into DCL's site... and I'll tell you that it was completely PEBKAC (Problem Exists Between Keyboard and Chair). I was entering my ressie number wrong. Duh!:sad2:

At this very moment, while I'm working and DISing, I'm watching the Magic enter the Miraflora locks. Can you believe that after tonight/tomorrow, the next time she's in the Gulf, we'll be accompanying her?!!!

One of my magnets is a maritime flag sign that spells out a phrase. With all the talk about some of you taking advantage of the lessons to be learned during our adventure, perhaps this can be a learning opportunity as well. They can discover what each flag represents and look for them on our ship (I've seen many embellishing the pool area). Just a thought.

Shell, you and I have the same nickname. I'm Michele, but my family calls me Shel because I love the ocean, sea shells and the color blue. How cool is that.

Come on Ladies.. I say we all band together for some shopping on board and a few girlie drinks! Anything with an umbrella will do me just fine! Come to think of it.... anything at this point will do fine, I don't care if there's an umbrella! LOL

A woman after my own heart. *sigh* can we start that drink now. We've been hit by the last of FAye.....and it's dreay, grey and not so pretty in Cajun Country today and for the rest of the week actually. I'm SOOOOO looking forward to sun and sand and drinks and drinks and kids club and drinks..(yep...vacation can't get here soon enough).

My name is Stacy
however, I get called Tracey, Daisy or even Stephanie

When I was younger I hated my name and wanted to be called Samantha

:confused3

I wanted a different name too. Valerie is not common, I wanted a more common name. (Amy or something like that-- Michelle was too popular :lmao: ) In high school I liked my name, I was the only Val out of 500 in our class.

and when I was younger if you called me Valerie I wouldnt answer you. I was Val, but when I got older I got soooo tired of getting Beth, when I told someone my name over the phone. Val, Beth they sound identical right? :confused3 I now just introduce myself as Valerie, my friends all know me as Val. ironically our tablemate on our last cruise was Valerie.

At school, I have no identity, I am ......'s mom. :)

Valerie I'm in the same boat as you (having the same name and all) Do you also get the really weird spellings? and I'm ALWAYS called Vicky....Valerie Vicky..yeah they are sooooo close. I was NEVER Val (except for one very good friend who called me Val) and now at work occasionaly I'm Val but for the most part it's always Valerie. I to wanted to change my name..just never could get my mom in on the deal. Now I'm glad at times...and at times I still think "what the heck was she THINKING":confused3

I got one online at Avenue.com. Its a terry dress with a neck tie, wasn't expensive but is very comfy..it even has a drawstring at the waist so there is some shaping to it.
