Dorky Disboutiquing DiserSistas:Destination DisneyTeresajoys(true)version:TheEnd 1/23

Sounds like you had a nice day! I LOVE your wedding picture! It is so sweet you both look so happy. Of course you should be:rotfl:

I need to make a run to the outlets next trip.

Teresa, I have been reading, just not commenting. I loved your most recent updates! Sometimes I'm not sure if you're being sarcastic, but I think you are and it makes me laugh my head off! That pic of Arminda all decorated and everything--hilarious!!

I also love the girls' dresses. Is that Minnie Dot a Felize pattern? It looks like it, but I've heard you say you make your own patterns sometimes, so I was just wondering. You are so talented!

How hilar that your dad didn't want to sit on the floor at the Disney Playhouse thingy. I can't imagine why not. Believe me, Lance would not have gone for that!! I think you are correct in that Disney could afford some benches, for crying out loud.

The Prime Time Cafe sounds awesome, too! Sounds like y'all had a ball. I think the prices should be '50s prices, too! :rotfl2: That was funny.

How sweet that you let that Wish family go in front of you to see Minnie. Honestly I felt really guilty about cutting in line on our wish trip, to the point where I tried to avoid eye contact with those who were waiting. But I remember when we saw Peter Pan, there was the sweetest family there who smiled and smiled at us! I bet this family remembers you, too.

OK, and you know how you and your mom had that "special time together" or whatever? That was one spot where I laughed. Were you being sarcastic? 'cause y'all looked kinda bored!! :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

Oh, that pic of your Grandpa! It makes me miss mine so much. I also loved seeing the pic of your wedding! You and Heather were so cute!! Well, I mean you were beautiful and Heather was cute. Well, crap, what I mean to say is y'all were both beautiful AND cute!!!

I really did love reading this TR. I have started one of my own, if you are interested in reading. We just got back a few days ago!

No update yet, but I'll try to get one up by this weekend!

ME sarcastic????? :confused3 Why would you think that??? :confused3
:rotfl2: :rotfl: :lmao:

Yes, if you think I'm being sarcastic, I probably am!! I have a bad habbit of doing that!

That pic makes me laugh just THINKING about it!!! Like right now! :rotfl:

I also love the girls' dresses. Is that Minnie Dot a Felize pattern? It looks like it, but I've heard you say you make your own patterns sometimes, so I was just wondering. You are so talented!

Nope, not a Feliz (although I love the looks of that pattern!) I just added ruffles to the back or CarlaC's portrait peasant dress pattern. I'm a big fan of ruffles! :thumbsup2

How hilar that your dad didn't want to sit on the floor at the Disney Playhouse thingy. I can't imagine why not. Believe me, Lance would not have gone for that!! I think you are correct in that Disney could afford some benches, for crying out loud.
Glad you see my point!

The Prime Time Cafe sounds awesome, too! Sounds like y'all had a ball. I think the prices should be '50s prices, too! :rotfl2: That was funny.
Henry really has a great sense of humor!

Seriously, we were so happy to let them go ahead of us! It was just wonderful getting to see them interact with Minnie! What's a few more minutes wait anyway?

OK, and you know how you and your mom had that "special time together" or whatever? That was one spot where I laughed. Were you being sarcastic? 'cause y'all looked kinda bored!! :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

That was a sneaky one! Actually we did have a special time together, but I thought the pictures were hilarious!!! Yes, don't we look like we were having the times of our lives???

Oh, that pic of your Grandpa! It makes me miss mine so much. I also loved seeing the pic of your wedding! You and Heather were so cute!! Well, I mean you were beautiful and Heather was cute. Well, crap, what I mean to say is y'all were both beautiful AND cute!!!

My Grandpa :lovestruc he was wonderful.

Heather was only 13 at my wedding, so you can call her cute! :thumbsup2 :rotfl2: Thank you!

I need to make a run to the outlets next trip.

If I knew then what I know now..... .....

I'd still look happy!

:surfweb: Just checking for an update. I can't wait to hear about the visit to the Space Center. . .

Hey, who told you where we were going???
I really did love reading this TR. I have started one of my own, if you are interested in reading. We just got back a few days ago!

OOOh, I'll have to go read yours too!!!! Welcome home!!!

I promise I'll finish this thing up soon! We are fast approaching our 180 day mark for our next vacation, and I wanted to be done about then!

Well, I think you tricked me:laughing:
On the 14th of October you mentioned on my Becca wish trip thread that the Step-sisters character meals were really good and that Becca would probably enjoy them.
It is now the 17th of October and I have just finally finished ready both yours and Heathers in Tandem! It has taken me that long!!popcorn:: popcorn:: popcorn:: ....lotsa popcorn::

They were both brilliantly entertaining, sad, joyful and full of family love (which hopefully made up for the lack of CM love)
I loved all the customs you and your sister made for the kids and the adults;)

I cant believe I finished reading before you both actually finished it. Come on, hurry up and finish, how dare you both have a life and family and work and houses to look after!! You should be slaving away finishing your TR's:surfweb: :surfweb: Mush! Mush!:rolleyes1 :rolleyes1

Sorry just joking....but I do wanna read more so come on, write it now......Pretty please with a cherry on top please:angel:

I also laughed out loud at armindas beautiful photopass picture!
I have now added a few things to our must do list for our next trip:
1. Kali river rapids (note to self bring clothes "to get wet in")
2. Everest-Only dh got to go on it last time. The waiting area looks very interesting. I love the cute signs.

I'm sorry you don't like the lion king show. I have only seen it once and we liked it. Lucas was 2 then and I was pregnant- maybe the hormones were messing up my brain and that's why I thought I liked it. Hmmm :scratchin

Sounds like a couple of fun days!! Glad you no one was lost forever!!!!

Question?

What is the joke about the drink at the Epcot Park?
The "Beverly" Drink I think??

I am confuddled (it doesnt take that much to confuddle me though :))

You'll just have to try it for yourself!! :thumbsup2

ANNA: You have to take your kids to Playhouse Disney! Sure, adults are uncomfortable on the floor, but the little kids love it!

Now I'd like to direct you all over to my trip report where I just posted an update. :dance3:

Oh my goodness...I FINALLY got caught up on your TR Teresa!!! There is so much I want to comment on but seeing as though it is getting closer to 1am here I think I will just say I LOVE IT. It is obvious that you guys are a close knit family and you know how to have fun!

Now that I am all caught up I am really hoping I can stay on top of this TR....but you really need to do another update and soon!!! Hahahaha. Actually you have some time as I am off to catch up on the TRUE version...oops, I mean Heather's version. :rotfl2: :lmao: (just teasin')

Definitely avoid the smores!!! But, you should probably take the kids to Playhouse Disney! But, bringing a blanket is an EXCELLENT idea!

I'm glad I could give you some must dos too!!! Outlet shopping is one of my favorite things to do on our trip!

The day Lydia had been waiting for had arrived!!! We were heading to Kennedy Space Center!!! She loves it here! She has been telling me from the time she was 2 that she is going to be an astronaut someday. However just the other day she told me that since she was going to be a Mommy, she didn't think she should be an astronaut. She wants to marry a man that hunts and fishes, and she said someone would need to take care of the kids. Plus, she wants to be a farmer, and she'd need to take care of the horses. So, she is now planning on building a Space Shuttle herself, painting NASA on the side, and flying it to Kennedy Space Center and saying, "Here is your space shuttle, I built it for you and put NASA on the side." And they are going to be so happy, and they will probably let her fly it, without really being an astronaut. She has it all planned out! She's so cute!

We got up pretty early, because we were trying to make it over to Kennedy Space Center around the time they opened. We have learned from past experience that you need to be there the whole day to even attempt to see everything. I had made Lydia a custom outfit to wear here, but I needed to sew on some ribbon to the inside because the silver material was scratchy. So, on the drive over I was sewing. I'm not crazy about the pattern I used for this outfit, it just doesn't fit quite right. But, I love the material! Lydia picked out the materials and the pattern for this one. She was very happy with it!

We made pretty good time, and pulled in the parking area at 9:30. I'm always surprised when we pull in, because you just drive in and don't have to pay for parking! Hey Disney, did you hear that?!! NO PARKING FEES!

We gathered our junk around and headed to the gate. We approached the window, and the attendant didn't even say hello or crack a smile. She said nothing the entire transaction. It was odd!

So, we got our tickets and headed for security. Which, is more secure than Disney security. You have to go through metal detectors and they make you turn on your cell phones and cameras. So, it takes awhile. But, we made it through rather quickly.

We grabbed a schedule and quickly decided we needed to head on over to the buses for the tour.
We had heard that the Space Shuttle Discovery was on the launch pad, so Lydia was VERY excited to see that!

After a brief wait in line,
S6300647.JPG

we hoped on the bus (number 10)to the observation area. On the ride over, Corey and I started counting how many alligators we saw in the canals by the road. We found seven on this leg of the journey!!! We were glad to be on the bus!
S6300648.JPG

When we arrived, we saw the Space Shuttle on the launch pad!
S6300651.JPG

S6300653.JPG

Lydia was in awe!
S6300650.JPG

Corey was panicking that Lydia was getting too close to the edge of the deck. He's so cute, getting worried about his little sister. We tortured Corey a bit longer, then went down the many many steps to the buses.

It seems like it took forever for the bus to come,
S6300654.JPG

but my notes say it was five minutes.

Lydia goofed off awhile while we were waiting.
S6300655.JPG

Maybe that's why it seemed longer than 5 minutes???

We hoped the next bus (number 9, driven by Don if anyone cares) to the Apollo Center. Corey and I spotted two more alligators.

Now, I really like this part of the tour! Lydia does too. First you go in and watch a little movie thing. (Hey look, Buzz joined us again!)
PICT0223.JPG

PICT0226.JPG

PICT0233.JPG

Then, you go into a room, which they say has the same monitors and what not from the actual control room when the Apollo launched. They take you through a countdown,
PICT0236.JPG

and then the rocket lifts off! The windows shake and rattle, and you would swear that the rocket is actually lifting off right then! Lydia is always excited about that!

Then, it's out to see the rocket!!!

Look how excited Lydia is!!!
S6300656.JPG

She looks so very little next to that thing!
S6300659.JPG

S6300660.JPG

The girls always sit on this thing.
S6300665.JPG

Because I make them! The first year we brought Lydia (the year she started telling me she was going to be an astronaut) she and Arminda sat on it and I took a picture, so I like to compare the pictures from year to year.)

Arminda often gets a little carried away with things...
S6300664.JPG

This is what they looked like last year, not a big difference:
Florida%202007%20406.jpg

But, here they are the first year we did it. Lydia was 17 months old in this picture!
Florida%202004%20052.jpg

notice the difference?
How cute are they! Brian and Corey had gone the day before. So, Brian dropped the girls and me off so we could go the next day. We had fun together just us three girls!

Back to the present..

Brian wanted some coffee, so he headed over to the little café. So, I broke out the granola bars I'd smuggled in and fed the kids a snack. It was about noon, so they were getting hungry. We were planning on eating at Mila's after the bus tour, so I didn't want them eating too much. We walked around and looked while we munched. I'm surprised Lydia didn't run into something, she was so excited! She kept looking up at the rocket, and rarely at where she was walking!
S6300657.JPG

S6300658.JPG

We found this moon rock,
PICT0243.JPG

which the kids got to touch.
S6300668.JPG

Lydia loves looking at this space suit.
S6300674.JPG

And, then we got a picture of Lydia by the capsule from the rocket.
S6300669.JPG

S6300670.JPG

S6300671.JPG

She's chewing a granola bar, so her face looks a bit funny!

Corey gave Lydia his camera and let her take some pictures of things she thought were important.

S6300678.JPG

Awe,her Mommy

and many pictures of the suit

and the capsule
S6300685.JPG

S6300681.JPG

Then, she spotted the van that the astronauts rode to the launch pad in, and had to take a picture of that. I would have swore that we use to be able to go inside this van, but it's all blocked off with Plexiglas now.
S6300690.JPG

S6300687.JPG

S6300691.JPG

Lydia didn't seem to mind though, she told us all how she would someday be riding in this van to the launch pad when she was an astronaut.

She took lots of random pictures of ceilings,
S6300693.JPG

stairs

S6300706.JPG

and tried to blind us with the flash in our faces....
S6300686.JPG

and of course, she had to take pictures of these freaky birds...
S6300694.JPG

S6300696.JPG

That last bird was REALLY FREAKY!!

We then found Brian, who was waiting for us at a table. He had bought me a coffee too, so we sat down while I drank it.
S6300708.JPG

S6300711.JPG

I went into the gift shop to look around awhile,
Notice the Eeyore necklace Arminda bought me, and the Aurora necklace Lydia bought me the day before:

and Brian took the kids to drive the little Mars rovers.

S6300719.JPG

S6300720.JPG

S6300721.JPG

I found a spray bottle for Lydia, the kind with the little fan on it. She'd needed a new one, because the one she'd bought earlier in the week had broke, and THIS one said NASA on it! Perfect! So, I got in line to buy it for her. While I was waiting, Brian and the kids came in and found me. When the ladies working in the shop spotted Lydia's outfit, they went CRAZY!!! It's hard to believe, but apparently they don't see a lot of customs at Kennedy Space Center!!! The cashier called over several other ladies that were working, and pretty soon there were about five employees gathered around Lydia admiring her outfit! It was pretty cool! Lydia loved the attention! Of course, she would have traded it all for one of the orange astronaut jumpsuits she spotted hanging on the wall! But, there was no way I was shelling out that much money! She was happy with her fan though. So, we paid for the fan and once again got on the bus (number 22).

In my notes, I have written down that we went to the ISS Lookout station. I don't have a clue what that stands for!

OH OH!! I remember now!!

It was the International Space Station! We went up on an observation deck inside the building and got to watch them loading things up to take to the space station!!
S6300723.JPG

Lydia and I were both very impressed!!! There was a guy up there that looked like Dr.Green from ER (the bald guy from a few years ago, that I have always had a bit of a crush on...) So, I tried to get Lydia to ask him some questions. I don't even remember if she did though! But, he was cute, and I believe he had an English accent, which made him cuter even! (But not as cute as my Brian!)
S6300724.JPG

S6300725.JPG

Oh, to be a fly on the wall in this place!!!!
S6300727.JPG

or, on the window...

We wanted to make it over to the astronaut encounter for the day, so we decided we were done looking around and took the bus (number 17) back to the main tourist area.
S6300729.JPG

Lydia was excited to be meeting a real live astronaut! Even though we had met him the year before too! His name is John Fabian, and he showed us some pictures that he took from outer space, which we all enjoyed seeing. Then, at the end he asked if anyone would like to ask him any questions. Lydia put her hand up first, and asked him, "Was the food good on the space shuttle?" To which he replied that it actually was very good. Which, surprised us.

Afterwords, we got to take our picture with him,
S6300733.JPG

and Lydia told him That she was going to be an astronaut someday. He was very friendly with her, and told her that she needed to study real hard and take lots of math classes! (I guess that's why I never became an astronaut!)
S6300735.JPG

And, just because, here's a picture of Brian
S6300732.JPG

We were just about starved at this point, so we headed to our favorite place to eat at Kennedy Space Center, Mila's Restaurant. I love the chicken Caesar wrap. So, of course that's what I got. The kids usually order personal pizzas. I have no clue what the boys ordered. Lydia had calmed down during the astronaut encounter, but something about sitting in the restaurant got her going again. She was acting like a crazy nut
S6300736.JPG

S6300737.JPG

(Ok, so she doesn't look like she's acting crazy in those pictures, but she was! You are just going to have to trust me on this!)

So I had to take her out and have a talk with her. She promised to behave if I took her back in,
S6300741.JPG

but as soon as we got inside the restaurant she acted up again. So, I took her out again, and we had another talk about proper restaurant behavior. This time it worked, thank goodness., and we enjoyed a very nice meal.
S6300743.JPG

Since we were directly across from the Imax theater, we decided to try to catch the movie that was just about to start. We got in just as they were starting to shut the doors. I don't remember which movie we saw, but I like them both, so I'm sure it was good! Everyone else enjoyed it as well. Lydia fell asleep while we were in there, which was good for everyone.

The boys wanted to go to the Shuttle Experience, so they headed over there and the girls and I thought about going to see the show "Mad Mission to Mars" (a show that they put here just to torture parents, it is SOOO STUPID!) However, on the way over there, we spotted a camera crew setting up for a commercial around this big water ball thing. (like the one they have at Disney)

PICT0253.JPG

So, the girls wanted to go check it out. They weren't stopping anyone, so we went up and I let the girls play there while they got ready for the commercial. Several other guests did the same thing. One of the people working on the commercial came over and chatted with us for awhile. He told us how much the ball weighed and how much water was underneath it (very heavy and not much)

We were hoping to get to see them shoot something, but it takes a very LOOONG time to set up for a commercial!
PICT0254.JPG

So, we headed over to the show. But, on the way, we were sidetracked by the ginormous gift shop! So, we went on in! I wanted to get Lydia a souvenir, so we looked around quite awhile and she found a cute little knit a-line dress in brown and pink with the NASA symbol embroidered on the front. So, I bought that for her. Almost as soon as we stepped out the door however, she grew about 4 inches, so the dress is now a shirt....But she still loves it! She begged me to let her wear it for picture day at school the other day, but mean Mommy that I am made her wear the First Day of School Ever dress that I had made her.

We went by Mad Mission to Mars, and I ignored the lady motioning for us to come inside and told the girls, "Oh shoot, it looks like it's already started! Bummer! Hey, let's go play over on the playground!" Which, they did. They were having so much fun climbing around in this thing!
PICT0255.JPG

PICT0256.JPG

Very cute
PICT0259.JPG

Hi girls!
PICT0257.JPG

While I was watching them play however, I saw a big old mouse, bordering on rat, run into a bush near the play land! Some other guests saw it too, and the ladies screamed while the men laughed! I kept my eye out for it, and then when I went to get the girls out of the play land, I saw the thing run under the play land!!! Icky!

So, I gathered the girls up,
PICT0258.JPG

and we took a little walk through the rocket garden and then back over to where we were meeting the boys.

We watched them setting up for the commercial a little longer,
PICT0260.JPG

PICT0261.JPG

and then decided to go look at the Space Shuttle model that they have over there.

Lydia thought it was great fun to be going inside the shuttle!
S6300722.JPG

I don't know why she's not in that picture either.
Actually, I don't even think that IS the shuttle! :rotfl2:

And, we were pretty high up, so we could look around and try to find Brian and Corey too. I didn't see them, so we just went and sat at some picnic tables for awhile.

While on the way to sit down though, we spotted this meet and greet astronaut, so we had to get our picture taken with him!
PICT0263.JPG

While we were sitting at the tables, they started filming another part of the commercial right nearby, so we got to watch them doing that. At long last, Brian and Corey showed up. As we were leaving, they told us the Space Shuttle thing was fun, but nothing like Mission Space at Epcot.

Even before we pulled out of the (free) parking lot, Lydia was fast asleep! She had had a very fun and exciting day!!!

However, our adventure in Titusville was not over yet! Brian's boss's dad lives in Titusville, and Brian had promised his boss, Mike, that he would stop by. Mike's Dad was giving Mike a boat, and Mike wanted Brian to take a picture of it, and play a joke on his Dad. Brian was suppose to go up to the door and tell Mike's Dad that he was there to buy the boat. Mike and Brian both thought this was very funny.... So, we pulled into their driveway, Brian gets out with Corey and after a few minutes, I hear a lot of laughing, so apparently everyone thought the joke was pretty funny. Unfortunately the boat wasn't there, so Brian didn't get any pictures of it.

The girls were both sleeping at this point, so I stayed in the van and sewed red ribbon into rose shapes for my outfit I was planning on wearing the next day. As I was sitting there, a car pulls into the driveway, the lady gets out, looks at me really weird and doesn't say a word. Apparently this was Mike's step-mom. After a few minutes, I heard more laughing and Brian came out and asked if we wanted to come in. But, when he saw that both girls were sleeping he told me he'd just tell them that he had to go. About a half hour later, they came outside, and stood at the door laughing and talking another 10 minutes or so. Apparently, they were all getting along famously! We have an invitation to come back next year for a cookout and fishing.

Finally, we were on way back to the timeshare. I was exhausted, but I finished sewing the roses and tulle on a yellow t-shirt for my next days outfit on the drive back.

Next up, our last Disney Park day, how sad... but we are sprinkled with some pixie dust.....

Ok, I have to admit, I did chuckle to myself when I suggested you read my TR!!! :rolleyes1

But, just for you, I posted my next update!!!!

Am I forgiven? :flower3:

Yesterday I spent ALL DAY reading Heathers TR so to be fair and see the trip from YOUR point of view I HAVE to read yours. I have to tell you, even tho I dont know you a bit, just from reading your TR you remind me of these amazing Sisters I met at the family Bible camp I have gone to since i was in 4th Grade, I met them 4 years ago, and they are Such inspiring people, fun, humerous, loving, family orientated, all things I see in your report. Brings tears to my eyes to know that there are other families like that in the world :)

I am only to page 20 of your TR but I will have to save the rest for another day, it's midnight and school time will be here all too soon!!

You are forgiven (Thinks to herself that she will have to get revenge at a later date)

I dont like that no-one will fess up about the Beverly though, I am starting to get the idea that it tastes icky or somet'in.

What is the LGMH?? I guess I think I nearly know but I am not sure. I know DISer's have em. Are we supposed to have them when we go?
Will we get accosted by other DISer's if we do?:scared1:
:rotfl: :rotfl:

Oh, and how do you pronounce DISer's?

I loved your TR on the Space Center, I wont show it to my DH though *** I think he may wanna go there, he likes space and things like that.

Lydia's customs was cute, didnt Arminda want a custom for the Space Center?

Sorry about all the questions, they pop into my mind at random and I have to ask them before I forget what they were:confused: :lmao:

Oh, you are so sweet!!! We do love each other very much!!! We even like one another too!

Revenge??? Now, that's not nice! :rotfl:

DIZ ers, like in DISney, we try very hard not to diss anyone around here!

lgmh= lime green Mickey heads, can be obtained in the Home Depot paint chip section. :cool2: yes, you will be acossted by other DISers, if you are lucky! YOU MUST have them proudly displayed at all times!

Beverly= YUMMY! Don't let anyone tell you otherwise!

Arminda didn't ask for a space custom. She isn't into the astronaut thing like Lyddy is!

I love the questions! This way I know you were paying attention! :thumbsup2
