We switched Corey's pediatrician when he was a month old, because at his second checkup, he asked when I was going to wean him!!! When I told him we were just going to nurse until one of us was ready to stop, he made fun of me and said, "What? Are you going to be like one of those women in Africa who are nursing a 5 year old? Children don't stop nursing on their own!" What a jerk! Corey weaned himself 2 weeks before he turned 2. And not that anyone cares, but Arminda was 2 years 4 months, and Lydia was almost 3. That doctor would have had a FIT if he knew I nursed an almost 3 year old! Although after she turend 2 1/2, it was quite sporadic.

Thank you for posting this. My DD will be 3 in Nov and she stills nurses maybe twice a day. As soon as she gets up and right before she goes to bed and it's only for like 10 minutes and then she's off my lap and playing. I had a similar experience last summer when I called me pedi's office to ask what kind of allergy medicine I could take because I was nursing and the lady that answered the phone didn't even answer my question but instead said "you're still nursing her, how old is she?. We usually tell mom's to wean them when they are a year old". My midwife on the other hand told me to nurse her for as long as I like because it cuts down the change of breast cancer. Now the pedi's office doesn't know I still nurse her because I don't want to have to leave them after 9 years of going there if they insult me.

I'm so glad that Lydia got to see Marie, she does look like a cute little kitty. Her dress was so beautiful too as well as Arminda's.

Please tell me that I'm not the only person who thought " I didn't know that Davy Jones did meet & greets...and certainly not at Epcot" thinking you meant Davy Jones from POTC :lmao:

I did too

Hi!!! I really, really, really need (er...want) the curtain dress from Enchanted. Someone referred me to you, and I saw the pictures of the one you made--it's fantastic!!! Did you use a pattern? Where did you get the fabric? If I brought the fabric and stuff to a seamstress or someone, do you think they'd be able to do it?

My e-mail address is kaitlinraftus@ yahoo.com (without the space between the @ and "yahoo"); any advice/help is VERY much appreciated!!!

I made the pattern myself. I'd be happy to work with you in making one for your daughter. I just emailed you.

I did too

Doctors can really be stupid when it comes to breastfeeding! I don't understand why they would tell people to stop at a year! Good for you nursing a toddler!!!

Thank you on the compliments on the dresses!!! We thought Marie was so cute too!!!

Teresa, I'm late to this party, and you don't know me, but I've been reading yours and Heather's TRs for the last couple of days and loooooooving them!

Your story of Lydia's encounter with Marie brought back one of my favorite Disney World memories ever. My DD Molly is almost 21 now, but when she was halfway between Lydia and Arminda's age (in other words, 7 or 8), she was the world's biggest Daisy Duck fan. She had a huge collection of Daisy "stuff" of all kinds, and let me tell you, back in the day, Daisy "stuff" was not easy to find! She had Daisy figurines and Daisy shirts and Daisy hats and Daisy plush toys and Daisy jewelry and I can't even remember what else.

On this particular trip, I had the bright idea of taking a Polariod photo of her collection, and then bringing the picture to show Daisy, and to get her to autograph it.

Daisy was about as hard to find in those days as it sounds like Marie is now, but we managed to track her down. She was in the old character greeting area that took the place of 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea, before it became the Pooh play area.

It was one of those situations with several characters in the room. Molly anxiously waited in Daisy's line (we were terrified that Daisy would have to go away before we got to her!). Luck was with us, though, and we made it up there just before she was going away.

Molly told Ms. Duck that she was her biggest fan ever, and showed her the photo of all her stuff. Daisy was really excited to see it. First, she looked at it very carefully, then she began to gesture how thrilled she was, then she began giving Molly one hug after another, then she took Molly by the hand, and led her around the room, where Daisy had to show the picture to all the other characters and introduce them to her fan, and each of those characters and their handlers made a huge fuss over Molly and her collection, too!

It was precious and priceless and it made Molly's year, and Lydia meeting Marie seemed like it had just the same feeling.

Oh my gosh, what a cool story! You've got me all teary-eyed after reading it! What a special memory! Do you have pictures of it?

Oh my goodness, that sounds so magical!!!!!! Thank you so much for sharing this with us! It does sound like it was the same feeling we got with Lydia meeting Marie.

Ok, really I am going to work on my next installment, as Lydia would say, "Pinkie promise!"

This was the day we were planning on going to Prime Time Cafe. For my parent's anniversary, we told them we'd take them to any restaurant at Disney. Last year, they picked Boma's YUMMY!!! We loved it! This year, they picked Prime Time Cafe. But, first we were all going to Animal Kingdom. Since Brian and I had already been there, we decided not to rush that morning, and made plans to meet my parents at the Flame Tree Restaurant around noon or so. (We really had an exact time set, but I don't remember what it was now!)

So, my parents got ready and took off, and we took our time, got ready and took off. I decided to put Lydia's Wild Minnie dress on her again, because I just loved it so much!!

Brian was hoping to see Pocahontas when we got to the park, but alas, she wasn't there. Poor Brian.

We love Expedition Everest so we headed on over there. There was no line! WHOOPEE!!! So, we ran right onto the ride!

S6300622.JPG

I rode with Lydia and Corey rode with Arminda, poor Brian had to ride by himself. The dark backwards part scares me a bit. It's the dark that scares me, not the backwards. I'm always glad when we get out of that part!!

DSCF3402.JPG

We had so much fun, that when we got off, Corey wanted to ride again. So, he and I ran back on, we decided to wait for the front car this time. And, it was just as fun this time too!

After we got off the ride, we saw this on the water:
S6300616.JPG

We were all quite excited!
S6300619.JPG

Mickey and Minnie at Disney WORLD!!! I mean, WHAT are the odds!!!!

S6300618.JPG

yeah, I actually got excited

don't judge me

We then thought we'd hit Kahli River Rapids. Now, I don't have a big problem with GETTING wet, but I do not care to STAY wet, so I had planned ahead today and brought an extra change of clothes for all of us. Well, all of us girls anyway! The boys didn't seem to care if they stayed wet or not, and their clothes are SO heavy! So, the girls and I popped into the bathroom, and being VERY careful to not actually step our bare feet on the floor or let any of our clothes touch the floor, we changed into our "Let's-Get-Wet!" clothes!

Once again, we had no line, and ran down the path to the ride. Brian and Corey hopped into the seat that was facing backwards, and was soaked..... The girls and I got into a seat that was quite dry looking. I was thinking that perhaps the girls and I should have sat in the really wet seats since we had extra clothes, but like I said, the boys didn't care anyway. So, off we started!

I just love that moment on this ride when you go down the dip and you just aren't sure WHO is going to get wet, and then
BAM! a big wave of water washes right over someone! In this case, that someone was Brian and Corey.

hehehe

Not that I would be totally gleeful to see my poor husband and baby boy totally soaked, but um, yeah, I guess I was!

The girls and I got pretty wet as well, so we were all having a very good time!

We hopped off the ride, and I chuckled to myself at all the people trying to ring out their shirts, and when they were unsuccessful, buying dry clothes from the little cart Disney so conveniently placed at the exit!

The girls and I hopped on into the bathroom again, carefully changed back into our dry clothes. I had brought along a plastic bag to put our wet clothes in too. (See, sometimes I think ahead!)

Of course, now that they were all nice and dry, what did the girls have to do???

Bubble%20Fountain.jpg

(I couldn't find my picture, so I borrowed this one.)

yeah, they played in that bubble fountain!
:confused3
OH well, at least they were a bit dryer than they had been!

It was our appointed meeting time for Mom and Dad, so we headed on over that way. While on the way though, we stopped to get some Photopass pictures taken.

Armimda wanted a picture of her Baby Simba with Baby Simba:

image648.jpg

and,

Lydia wanted to hold Simba too!

image649.jpg

Then the photographer told her "Looked surprised!" and this is the look Lydia made!

image650.jpg

The photographer laughingly said, "Apparently looking surprised means sticking your tongue out of your mouth!" and we all had a laugh!

We went to the Flame Tree, and shortly met up with Mom and Dad. Mom said that they had made plans with Heather to meet up at the Lion King show.

Ok, let me tell you a little something, at risk of being called "UnDisney" I do NOT like the Lion King Show, at all, not even a little. I don't HATE it exactly, but I pretty much don't enjoy anything about it. Except the end, when you get up and leave.

Ok, more back story. When the Lion King Show first started at Animal Kingdom, I was SOOOO excited!!!! I thought it would be great! Fantastic!!! STUPENDOUS!!! YEAH!! YIPPEE!!! WOO HOO!!! IT WAS GOING TO BE GREAT!! I just knew it!!! I love a good show! So, I eagerly looked forward to it, and made sure we saw one of the first shows. When it was done, I was like, "Huh? THAT is it???" It did not "WOW!" me, and to borrow a phrase from Stephres, I thought it was just "meh".

Ok, we'll fast-forward just a bit.
The year Heather, Tessa, Mom and unborn Sawyer went to Disney, they went to the show, and came home SOOOO THRILLED!! EXHILARATED!!!!!! ECSTATIC!!!!! and other Fancy Nance words for really EXCITED!!!!!!! Exactly how I had thought I'd feel about it BEFORE I actually saw it.

SO, I figured, "We must have just gotten a bad show, I'm going to give it another chance, and I'm going to LOOOOVE IT!!!!" So, I eagerly anticipated the start of the show. I was prepared to be EXCITED!!! I even forced myself to smile more than I felt like. But, alas, when Lydia said she had to use the bathroom, and Arminda joined us, I can't say I was real upset to be missing part of the show! We got back and finished watching. When we were done, I didn't say anything, but Arminda said to me, "I don't really like that show. I wish we had just stayed out here and met the characters." Ah, that's my girl!!! I told her that I agreed and didn't really care for it either.

So, fast-forward again to now, and Mom is saying, "Do you want to go with us and meet Heather to see Lion King?" OOHHH, I SOOO wanted to say, "Nope, I'd rather do just about anything else, thank you." I also thought "Well, maybe just maybe, THIS time, with my entire family there, I will finally LOVE it the way a good Diser should!" So, of course, I said that we'd go. We had a good 45 minutes or so before the show was to start, but Mom was worried we wouldn't make it in time. So, we headed on over there. We went inside, and got seats in the "I don't even remember" section. We were pretty close to the front, so the kids had a nice good view. I had my fake smile plastered on my face, which was harder to do than it had been the last time. We were looking for Heather, but didn't see her. We kept looking, but I never saw her.

THEN!

The show started!!!

There was music!

IMG_1625.JPG

There was dancing!!

IMG_1628.JPG

And Twirling!!!!

IMG_1629.JPG

There was roaring and trumpeting and giraffe sound making!!!!!

There were jumping monkeys!!!

IMG_1620.JPG

There were all sorts of acrobatics!!!

IMG_1621.JPG

IMG_1623.JPG

Oh my goodness!!!

Even FIRE TWIRLERS!!!!!

IMG_1627.JPG

It Was....

It

WAS.......................

just "meh"

again.

About halfway through, I tried to convince Lydia that she probably had to go to the bathroom.

She didn't.

So, I GRINNED and bore it.

AGAIN

BUT!!!!!

This time, Mom and Heather were not impressed either. At least they didn't think I was absolutely completely crazy anymore! Arminda though, really liked it this time!

Go figure.

Since we were right there at Camp Minnie Mickey, I said I wanted to get Lydia's picture taken with Minnie Mouse. We had missed her the last time, and I really wanted a picture of Lydia with Minnie in her Wild Minnie dress! So we hopped on into the longest line of the day and the entire trip!

IT

WAS

REALLY

REALLY

REALLY

LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOONG!!!

IMG_1640.JPG

Did I mention that it was REALLY long??? It WAS!

Yep

LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOONG!!!

But, it was actually pretty fun!

Once we were in line, and with many people behind us, THAT is when Lydia decides she REALLY REALLY has to use the potty! Now, not halfway through the painful experience called the "Lion King Show" nope, right now!

Being the most wonderful Grandma that she is, Mom quickly volunteered to take her while I waited with the other kids in line. Well, the other kids and Brian.

In the meantime, Heather was seeing some other characters, with shorter lines.

Tell me, is THIS the face of a Disney hater??????
IMG_1633-1.JPG

or this???
IMG_1635.JPG

IMG_1635-1.JPG

Mom came back, and had Tessa with her (she may have had her when she left too, but I don't remember!) she wanted to see Minnie Mouse too.

While we waited
IMG_1641.JPG

and

waited

and

waited
IMG_1642.JPG

The girls decided to play Hide and seek

Yeah, right there in line.

Wouldn't you know, there are NOT a lot of places to hide! They hid behind a few trees, after I quickly scanned for poison ivy.

S6300624.JPG

S6300625.JPG

They had fun playing a few rounds of hid and seek, and then we were about up to Minnie Mouse!!!!

So, of course, this is when Minnie needed to go to the powder room to powder her nose!

So, we waited some more

IMG_1643.JPG

(boy, this is really thrilling, isn't it!!! I bet you are on the edge of your seat wondering WHAT exciting thing could POSSIBLY happen next!!!!)

and the girls played more hide and seek.

Then, Minnie came back, and it was our turn!!!

IMG_1644.JPG

But,

A Wish family had just come up, so the CM came over to us and nicely asked us if we minded waiting while the Wish family had their turn with Minnie. Of course we said we were fine with that!

It was really sweet, the Wish child, a young lady, was SOOO excited to see Minnie!!! They kept getting her to look at the camera for the pictures, but she wouldn't take her eyes off of Minnie Mouse!!! It was incredibly sweet!!

Then, we were up!

image652.jpg

image653.jpg

Minnie didn't say anything about Lydia's dress, and that disappointed me a bit. But, the girls were really excited to be meeting Minnie (again)! Mom asked if we wanted Tessa in the picture with us, or if we just wanted family. Brian said, "What are you talking about? Tessa IS family!"

image657.jpg

You will notice that I am stylishly dressed in my "Ode to Snow White" ensemble! Brian was extremely nervous when I came home with yellow jeans! But, I explained to him that it was going to be part of my "Ode to Snow White" ensemble for wearing at Disney. He just shook his head. So, I told him that while I was picking out the pants to wear to Disney, there was another lady looking through the SAME rack of yellow pants for a pair to wear every day. He was unimpressed. Corey told me that when I wore this outfit that I should walk far away from him so no one knew I was with him! Oh, funny kid.

But, as you can see, here we all are, with me, in my "Ode to Snow White" ensemble that I had so painstakingly made. I had sewn the ribbons on the night before, by hand! OOOOHHH!!! And, I had to cut off a few inches of the jeans to make them capris. Hard work people, HARD WORK!

Then, Brian encouraged Mom and Dad to join us for a picture.
image659.jpg

We set off to meet up with Heather, and on the way, I was stopped by someone who wanted to know where I bought my outfit!!! OOH YAH!!! I told her that I had made it by sewing red ribbons onto my t-shirt! She took a picture of me so she could show her Dad, who loved Snow White. (or, she took a picture of me to post on a website entitled "Stupidist Outfits I've Ever Seen at Disney" but, either way, I didn't mind!

We met up with Heather, and apparently something very gross or something very funny happened:
IMG_1654.JPG

IMG_1656.JPG

We decided that we were going to head on over to "It's Tough to be a Bug". We had to talk Arminda into it, because after the last time she went into it, several years ago, she vowed to NEVER EVER do it again! I don't think Lydia was old enough to remember much about it, so she didn't put up too much fuss.

IMG_1659.JPG

So, I parked the stroller, (in the WRONG spot!) and joined everyone in line.

IMG_1661.JPG

IMG_1663.JPG

IMG_1666.JPG

IMG_1668.JPG

And, then we were in!

It went ok, but about halfway through or so, Arminda decided to crouch onto the floor. I think she was just being "dramatic" but I tried to coax her up into her seat to no avail. I'm not crazy about the dark part of this show. (Catching a theme with the dark stuff, aren't you!) I would rather be able to see. It seems that Sawyer did ok, I don't recall him crying. No one seemed TOO upset or traumatized by the ordeal, but I doubt we will do it again for awhile. It's not our favorite attraction.

We hadn't hit Conservation Station the last time we were here, so we thought we'd head on over that way. While we were walking over there, a lady came up to me to tell me how much she loved my outfit! Hey, this was kind of fun!

We saw Devine again:
IMG_1674.JPG

Then, we were off to conservation Station! As we were waiting for the train, a family with a baby in a stroller came up and got into the handicap waiting area. The Cm told them that they weren't going to be able to ride there, it was only for wheel chairs. The family explained that another CM had told them that they could, since their baby was sleeping, and they didn't want to fold up the stroller. The other CM let them stay there a bit, but it appeared that he was calling someone to check on it. The CM finally came back and told the family that he was sorry, but they couldn't allow them to take up the wheelchair spot for a stroller. The family argued a bit more and they were getting quite upset. (I was thinking it would have taken less energy to carefully pick the baby up and fold up the stroller like every other family on the train had to do, but hey, that's just my opinion.) The CM wasn't giving in, so the family decided they weren't going. I partly understood why the family was upset, because another CM had mistakenly told them they could do it, but when they found out for sure they couldn't, I think they could have dropped it. I was also a little peeved that they thought they could do something that no one else could do. It's a pain to fold up your stroller, but you do it.

As it turned out, a family with a wheelchair did come before we took off, and needed the spot.

Ok, mini rant over.

We rode the little train over, and chatted and laughed quite a bit!

It was another good day! We hoped off the train, and what did we see???

THIS THING!!!

IMG_1680.JPG

IMG_1681.JPG

IMG_1684.JPG

We stood around awhile trying to figure out if this was real or not! So, we asked one of the friendly (really, they were) CMs standing nearby. He told us that yes, in fact it WAS real! And, that when it bloomed, it smelled like rotting flesh!!!

UM

EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWW

I was quite thankful that our trip had not been for a few weeks later!!!!!

I asked if they kept it there while it was blooming and he said that they did, but the smell was almost overwhelming!

Boy, I wish I had HIS job!!!!

The girls as usual had fun with the baby elephants:
IMG_1687.JPG

IMG_1688.JPG

As we set off down the trail, we decided to take the LEFT fork in the trail, whilst everyone else was taking the RIGHT.
So, I declared, "We're REBELS!"
and I then Sawyer laughed and said, clear as day, "REBELS!!!"

Awww!!!! Now, Sawyer doesn't say much, so this was pretty exciting to us all! And, it was so darn cute!!!! So, of course he kept saying it!

"REBELS!!!"

So it's like official now, WE'RE REBELS!!!! WOOTHOO!!!

yeah, we're cool

The girls stopped to do one of the kid activities. It was a scavenger hunt, they had to find all the animals on the list.
Don't worry, these are just toys:

Here's Arminda talking to the CM
DSCF3406.JPG

While they played, Sawyer wanted his picture taken:
IMG_1695.JPG

When we got to the Conservation Station, we wanted to go in and see some characters. Mom said there were never characters inside, and I told her that I had never been here when there weren't characters inside.

So, we went on in, and

yeah,

NO CHARACTERS!!!

No Rafiki!!!

Florida%20pictures%202007%20%2864%29.jpg

NO POCAHONTAS!!!!!!!

Florida%20pictures%202007%20%2866%29.jpg

Not

even

STANLEY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

DSCF0209.JPG

Go figure!!

I comforted Brian as best I could at yet another missed chance to meet Pocahontas!

We saw some kids gathering around a CM, so we headed over there.

IMG_1698.JPG

The CM was talking about bunnies.
IMG_1699.JPG

The kids were having fun
IMG_1702.JPG

Arminda got picked to be a volunteer (or answer a question, it's foggy) so she was pretty excited about that. The CM then gave her a button, and Tessa was very NOT happy about that! They all got to pet the bunny,

IMG_1704.JPG

I think in this next picture, the CM had just told them one at a time, and Lydia was quite "nervous" because she wanted to go up with Tessa:
IMG_1705.JPG

and then when they were all done
IMG_1707.JPG

DSCF3407.JPG

they squirted the kids with hand sanitizer.

The girls then went over to look at the animals behind the little glass walls.
IMG_1710.JPG

IMG_1711.JPG

I was tired, so I sat down on a conveniently located bench.

Ahhh

Just sittin'

Very nice

And, then of course, we had to go pet some goats! So, we all headed on outside. Well, almost everyone. Once I got out there, I realized Arminda was not with us! So, I went right back inside, and found her, getting very panicky! I ran over to her and gave her a big hug, and she started crying. Apparently, she hadn't heard us say we were going, or seen us leaving, and she had been taking some pictures of the animals behind the glass.
IMG_1712.JPG

Then, she noticed we were all gone! Poor baby, I felt so bad! So, when she asked if she could get an ice cream, I obliged and took her on over.

When we got back to everyone else, they were looking at the talking garbage can. I always get a kick out of this thing! And Corey always likes to find the guy making it talk.

Florida%20pictures%202007%20%2860%29.jpg

It was getting close to time to go, so we gathered the kids about, and the Rebels all headed on out of Animal Kingdom. We emptied our strollers out, folded them up, and loaded onto the little train. It seems like someone not in our group was being grumpy on the ride back, but I don't recall what was happening.

So, we hopped on off the train, and were heading on out to get to MGM and our reservation at Prime Time Cafe!

Corey wanted to show me something in the gift shop before we left, so I went inside with him. He insisted I get my pictures taken with the Diser placemat!

S6300627.JPG

And, then, we were on our way out once again.

But, before we left, we needed some Photopass pictures!!!

image668.jpg

image669.jpg

Then, at the exit we took some with just our family.

The CM wasn't happy that Arminda didn't want to put her parasol down, and kept telling her to close it up. Arminda wasn't in a picture taking mood anyway, and I had told her she could leave it up. I figured that was better than her squinting into the sun!

image678.jpg

So, the CM reluctantly snapped some pictures with the parasol, and we were on our way!!!

And, she was squinting anyway.

Look, see, there I am with my loverly pink parasol, just like I had when I was just a wee little child.
IMG_1719.JPG

Speaking of Wii, did I tell you that my wonderful parents bought Brian and I a Wii and Wii Fit for our 20th Anniversay!!! WOO HOO!!!!! It's so much fun! Even Brian is liking it! I'm pretty good at the hula hoop!

Huh??

What???

You say I'm suppose to be doing what???

OH yeah, I was writing a trip report, where was I??

Oh yes, we were leaving Animal Kingdom. Farewell Animal Kingdom, we will see you next year MUAW! (that's an air kiss by the way)

So, we were all walking to our cars, and Corey saw Mom and Dad walking ahead of us, so he asked me if he could just ride with them. I told him sure, and he ran off after them. I quickly realized that he should have taken his ticket with him, but he didn't hear me when I called for him to come back, so I waited for a minute, watching him go, and in the meantime I spotted Brian and the girls walking in a direction that I KNEW the van was not, so I ran to stop him before he went too far. I then turned back to see where Corey went, and didn't spot him. I told Brian that I didn't see him, and he told me that he probably caught up with my parents and they took off. he told me to just get on in the van, and we'd go over to meet them at MGM. But, I started to get very worried. What if he didn't find them? What if he was now wondering the parking lot all alone looking for SOMEONE that he knew

WHAT IF

HE WAS LOST FOREVER!!!!!!

Just like his Uncle David!!!???!!!!

So, I made Brian drive very slowly and look down the aisles where I thought Mom and Dad would be. I also called out his name from the window. Brian convinced me that he was NOT in the parking lot and that we should just go meet everyone at MGM. He told me that if Corey didn't find my parents he was a smart boy and he would have found a CM and had them contact us at MGM. I told HIM that that would be TERRIBLY hard to do if he had been kidnapped, and was now riding around in the back of someone TRUNK!

Don't get me wrong, we weren't arguing, but I do run worst case scenarios through my head probably more than I should. Brian was just trying to calm me down.

I fretted and fussed all the way over to MGM. We parked the van, hopped on a tram and rode to the entrance.

I fretted some more.

When we got off the tram,

I was soooo relived to see Corey with everyone else waiting at the entrance!!!! PHEW!

Ok, so Brian was right,

THIS time.

We did the bag check, scan the card, scan the finger thing, and we were in like Flin!

We were off to Prime Time Cafe!!!

IMG_1729.JPG

No one knew where it was, even though I gave them excellent directions, "Turn left at the first road and it's right by the giant dinosaur and pond." Come on, WHO could get lost with excellent directions like that????

On the way there, we had to stop for some more Photopass pictures.

I particularly LOVE this picture of Arminda:
image688.jpg

Heather about peed her pants laughing when she saw that I had decorated it even!!!! Even Arminda couldn't stop laughing, and she is not one to laugh at herself like that!!! I think this could go in the books as one of the all time worst Photopass pictures EVER taken!!! But, I really enjoy it anyway!!!

Whilst we were having award winning pictures taken, Sawyer was riding on the penny horse.

Isn't he cute!

I herded everyone to the restaurant.

No leader line anxiety today, there is only one way to get to the restaurant, so I didn't worry about anyone second guessing my decisions.

We were a bit early, but we went to check in anyway. I told them that we were there, and that we were all very good sports, so we would like a really funny waitress. The man taking our name replied that they did NOT have waitresses! We would have a Mom! He told us to wait in the den while they got the table ready.

I think this place is pretty neat, with the old TVs couches and nicknacks all around! We didn't wait long though, before it was our turn to be seated.

We were seated at our table,
IMG_1735.JPG

and then "Mom" came over to introduce herself to us. She told us that we were now in the 1950's and then right away, she started scolding us. She had the table behind us tell us all the things we were doing wrong!

Hat on at dinner

I think someone may have been chewing gum even!

She told us that she did NOT want to see our elbows on the table again!

She then handed us the silverware and napkins and told us to set the table while she got our drinks.

We looked over the menu

Tessa thought she'd try out the Sweet N Low:

IMG_1742.JPG

while we waited for her to come back.

When she returned, Henry asked her,

"If we are in the 1950's, why are the prices so high?"

We all thought that was pretty funny!

She then took our orders and gave us another assignment:

Think of 13 (I think it was 13?) Disney animated movies with only one word titles.

So, we had fun thinking up as many as we could!
IMG_1739.JPG

She even checked it when she came back, and told us which ones we had gotten wrong, apparently, it's "The Aristocats" and NOT "Aristocats". I even missed one of my favorites, "Tarzan"! Oh, I was ashamed, very ashamed!
IMG_1740.JPG

But, I got over it, and eagerly started eating my food.

"Mom" told us that we had to eat all of our food if we wanted dessert and a clean plate club sticker. Well, there was something in my food I didn't like, I don't think it was celery, because I don't think I could have eaten that, so it may have been peas. I like frozen peas, but not canned peas. YUCK!

But, whatever it was, I forced as much of it as I could down, just so I would get that darn sticker! And, I did! WOO HOO!!!

!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!IMORTANT UPDATE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I checked my notes, and it WAS CELERY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! So nasty I blocked the memory! I DESERVED that stinkin' sticker!

But, I had my elbows on the table when she got back!

So, she had me write "I will not put my elbows on the table." TWENTY times!

Tessa thought that was hilarious!

When I was done, Tessa and Lydia thought it would be extremely funny to color all over my HOMEWORK!!!! They were giggling madly about it!! So, I pretended to be quite upset!

It was a lot of fun.

I had finished my food, so, I was able to order some dessert. So, I got the I had heard that the smores were quite good, so I decided we should try that. The kids all got little ice cream sundaes with their meal.

When they brought the "smores" out, I was a little bit surprised.

Umm, it's JUST a s'more.

Henry said, "It's not even a WHOLE smore, it's only HALF!"

"Mom" told him he was a trouble maker and that it was an "Open face smore"

I was thinking more along the lines of "Disney rip off S'more." But, I kept my opinion to myself.

The S'more was less than impressive. It wasn't very big, and it had chocolate SYRUP on it. I think I'll skip it next time!

We were all done, so we went on outside.
IMG_1746.JPG

We looked at the lagoon for a little bit,

and then Lydia had to go to the bathroom, so I took her back inside.

When I got back, Heather, Tessa, Sawyer and Henry were gone.

(the look on Lydia's face when she discovered Tessa left without saying good-bye)

So, the rest of us talked about what we were going to do.

Brian was thinking that he wanted to go to the time share and go fishing. I wanted to stay at MGM. So, Mom and Dad volunteered to drop Brian off at the time share, and I could drive the van back when we were done.

Brian didn't want to do that, because I wasn't really suppose to be driving the rental van.

So, Mom and Dad volunteered to stay with me and the kids, and they would drop us off at the timeshare when we were done.

Brian didn't want to do that.

So, we finally decided that we would all stay.

Which was fine with me, that's what I wanted to do anyway!

Lydia really really wanted to see Playhouse Disney, so I started to take her on over there, while everyone else was doing something that I don't recall. Dad came with me, which was nice, because Dad and I rarely get any time alone together. When we were approaching Play House Disney, we spotted Handy Mandy! Lydia was excited, so we got the autograph book and headed to the line. Just as they were closing it down! Oh pooh!

But, Lydia was still happy that she got to see him!

Dad, Lydia and I got on into the Playhouse Disney line while we were waiting for everyone else. There were only a few people ahead of us. The rest of the gang quickly came over to us. Dad suddenly decided he had to go to the bathroom, and as he left I said,

"You aren't coming back, are you!"

He said, "NOPE!" laughed, and started walking away faster!

Can you believe a 65 year old guy didn't want to sit on a hard cement floor and watch Mickey Mouse Club House????

I KNOW, weird!

I'm thinking by the time we got in there, it was just, me and the girls, but Brian might have been with us too!

The floor, it was hard! Would it really kill Disney to put in some benches, or some carpet padding???? I had to wonder how often they cleaned this floor that so many small children had sat on.

Children who maybe weren't QUITE completely potty trained....

Benches

I think Disney could afford it. And, it would make a more defined space for the kids to get up and dance in.

But, that's just my opinion. Well, mine and my behind's opinion.

As soon as the show started, Lydia was mesmerized!!! She loved it!!! She didn't get up and dance much, there just wasn't much room where we were sitting. But, I knew she was having a really good time!

When we left, Brian, Lydia, Corey and I think maybe my Dad went into the animators studio. The place where they teach you to draw pictures of the characters. Corey had been really wanting to do it, and was excited to get a chance.

For some reason, Arminda and I didn't go in, and neither did Mom. If memory serves me correctly, we headed over to the Great Movie Ride next. We then went to wait for everyone else to be done. Mom took Arminda somewhere, and I decided to try a Mickey Bar. I didn't think I liked them, (perhaps due to a bad ice cream bar experience in Kindergarten) I usually get the ice cream sandwich, but I thought I should at least give the Mickey Bar a chance.

It went about as well as the Lion King Show.

I don't like Mickey Bars.

Now I know for sure.

While I was waiting in line though, I saw a father with two little kids. They kept looking over at the ice cream cart longingly.

I really really wanted to just buy those kids a Mickey Bar and give it to them. I debated about it for quite awhile (there was a line at the cart and the couple ahead of me was pretty slow in picking what they wanted.) but decided not too. I didn't know how the father would take it, would he think I was weird? Where the kids allowed to have ice cream??? What would I do with two extra Mickey Bars if they didn't want them???? I wish I had just done it though.

Oh well, maybe next time.

So, I got my Mickey Bar, and realized I didn't care for it right away. But, of course, I ate it anyway. Arminda came back with Mom at this point, and saw me eating the Mickey Bar, so she decided she needed one too. Then, Mom and Dad (hmmm, where did Dad come from???) decided they needed one, so Dad took Arminda and they set off to find an open cart. Mom and I just sat outside the Animation Studio and chatted and people watched. It was a really special time just the two of us for a little while.

IMG_1789.JPG

(I am NOT smoking a cigarette in that picture, it just looks like it!)

IMG_1790.JPG

When Arminda came back, we tried to get some pictures of her, but she kept running away and hiding! So, we all had fun chasing her around for awhile trying to get her picture!

And, then we sat and people watched some more. It then dawned on me that Mom and Dad didn't have to stay, they could go on home. So, I told them that I would be fine waiting for Brian by myself, and that they should head on home. They said they were pretty tired, gave us kisses and headed on out.

Brian, Corey and Lydia came out not long after ,and Lydia was really excited to show me her drawing. It was really pretty good for a 5 year old! I wish I knew where it was, I'd take a picture and post it for you all to see! It wasn't perfect by any means, but you could tell it was suppose to be Donald Duck!

Brian mentioned that he would like an ice cream bar, so I volunteered to go get him one.

He said, "I want a frozen banana."

I said, "Seriously?? You know, they have GOOD stuff too."
But, he insisted that he wanted the frozen banana.

I use to hate bananas, but now I don't mind them. But, I can never imagine getting a FROZEN BANANA over a yummy ice cream sandwich!

As I ordered the banana, I felt compelled to explain to the CM that it was NOT for me, had I been ordering, I would have gotten something yummy, with ice cream in it. She said you wouldn't believe how many people actually ordered them, and she didn't really get it either.

I handed it to Brian, and he declared it "Delicious" and insisted that I try it.

It tasted like a cold mushy banana. Yum.

But, he was enjoying it, so that was good!

As we were leaving, Brian took a break to use the facilities, and the kids and I waited around this store:
S6300638.JPG

While we were waiting, Corey excitedly said, "It's a DISER!!!"

"Where, where??"" I replied
"He just went inside the store!! Let's go!"
So, we all went into the store on a Diser hunt!!!

He wasn't hard to spot, he had the lime green Mickey head on his backpack. We stopped him and said, "Are you a Diser???"
He replied, "No, but my girlfriend is." and he called her over to us.

She was extremely sweet, and very cute, but I can not remember her username!!!! UGGH!!! Well, if you are out there nice Diser, it was very nice to meet you!

Important Update #2:

The Diser was
LoveDisney! If you know her, tell her I said hello!

We left MGM (Disney's Hollywood Studios) and went back to the time share. Brian had enough time to do some fishing so he was pretty happy.

DSCF3421.JPG

He also called his friend, Ken, who lives over in Titusville (and much to Lydia's excitement actually works on the SPACE SHUTTLE!!!!) and planned to meet him the next day and do some fishing with him and Corey.

Up next: A day alone with the girls, or is it?????

Whoo hoo! Nice update!

Welcome to the ranks of those of us who barely post an update once a month. :thumbsup2

Have you personally seen my new lake front property? I know it's hard to get to, what with all the heavy equipment and all. :rotfl:

Good times, good times.

Well, one year ago today, we were in WDW. So I haven't finished by the one year mark. I'm hoping to finish before I would book another trip. LOL

Oh, that was too long, I can't remember everything I wanted to comment on (sniff).

I'll try...

Poor Brian missing Pocahontas! Tom feels his pain!

And poor Brian again, insisting that Tessa be in the picture and then his eyes are closed! I laughed about that one.

The first time we went to the Lion King show Jacob was a baby and it was a disaster! He freaked out and I had to make a quick exit. Now the kids love it, I am middling between meh and great! I like it, but I don't love it.

Poor Arminda, losing you and being all by herself on her own. I'm glad she was ok.

Lydia looks especially beautiful in the pictures. I can't remember which one, but Brian better watch out in a few years!

Oh! I am happy you got compliments on your homemade snow white outfit. I thought it was very resourceful.

I can't remember what else. Great update!
