Dorky Disboutiquing DiserSistas:Destination Disney HeatherSue's(best)version OVER1/27

Just catching up after a few days off line. The whole family (including my visiting mother) has had a STOMACH BUG. Poor Grammy. I have yet to fall victim to it, but I just know I'm next.... :sad2:

ANYway, great update, Heather! Everyone looks so cute. You do not look pregnant in that top. :sad2: :goodvibes

WHERE is David?!

"It's a great big beautiful TOMORROW...."

What is it with kids and those pine needles?? We had to constantly drag our kiddos out of them when we were at WL in April. WDW just needed a "play with pine needles" area, and we would have never seen the kids again.

Looks like you guys had a great time! Did I mention that my four year old daughter beat me at Buzz?? Yeah. *sigh*

Whatever will happen to DAvid!! I have no patience...I'll read Teresa's TR....I bet she'll tell me.... :stir:

:lmao:
You're just taunting me with that song, aren't you? :snooty:

Those pine needles saved us from all sorts of whining while waiting for the bus! Of course, we could have been saved from pine needles if we would have known about the quick boat!!

Yes, Teresa will tell you what happened to David. We were writing up until the end of "Steph day" and she included information that she didn't find out until the next morning. She's a big 'ol cheater!

Just trying to help your view count. :)

I think since Teresa spoiled your will we ever find David cliffhanger you should not tell her and post a new update ASAP. (Ok. . .so I am really looking for something new to read instead of doing the work I should be catching up on.)

Great updates to both of you and looking forward to the next ones!
Thanks on the view count help! Teresa is stills whupping me! I'm working on my next installment! It should be up in the next day or 2.

Jacob was encouraging it too. He kept telling me how funny it was that Tessa liked to kiss people.

1) I heard her when she saw us! I couldn't see anything because my lenses were still dark from being outside. So I heard Heather before I saw any of you.

2) I didn't think she looked pregnant either. Silly Heather!

5) Yes, I know the value of a stroller in preventing whining in little girls! I forgot the stroller that trip because I am a goofus. I'm sorry Heather had the do all the work of pushing the girls around. I'm sorry.
Yes, my daughter has a "kissing problem". I really hope we can squash it before she starts kindergarten!

So, are you trying to say I'm loud? :rotfl2:

Thank you, but I DID look pregnant!

You offered to help with the stroller, so don't worry about that a bit!

WHERE is David?!
Oh, I hope you don't get it! Our trip to Arizona was pretty much ruined when all 12 people in the house got the stomache flu. UGH!

Just checking in, and sprinkling some :lovestruc :grouphug: :flower3:

Thank you, my darling!

Love the new installments and all the pictures. You guys always have fun!!! How cool that you got to meet Steph, Megan and Jacob!!!! The kids all looked so cute!!!! :goodvibes

Great TR!!!!!!
Thank you!! You may not like the installment that's coming up next. Disparaging comments are made about a frog!

Love the new installments and all the pictures. You guys always have fun!!! How cool that you got to meet Steph, Megan and Jacob!!!! The kids all looked so cute!!!! :goodvibes

We do always have fun! We went to Chuck E. Cheese yesterday as a family and we managed to have a good time amid the chaos!

The next installment will be coming up momentarily. I've been working on it for 5 days or so. It's REAAALLLY long and has TONS of pictures!!!

:surfweb: Can't wait for a new installment! It will be great reading after I get this outfit cut out to sew for my niece's Birthday!:surfweb:

May 9, 2008- Animal Kingdom!

We woke up and called to see if David had made it safely back home. To my great relief, he was not LOST FOREVER!! I was starting to think his astro orbiter had crashed on a strange, time shifting island or something.

Barbara had dropped Mom's cell phone early in the day and it broke. Poor Barbara was so upset about it that she was a real grump for the rest of the day (according to Casey). Barbara doesn't get grumpy very often, but she was afraid mom would be mad (she wasn't mad at all).

I guess they had went to the Campfire Singalong a little later in the evening, because we'd told him we'd be there until 9:00pm or so. But, mom and dad had already left. So, they went all over the place trying to find them. David, Mom, and Dad had all told security guards that they were looking for each other. I guess the security guards don't communicate with each other about that. David was just about ready to get a hotel for the night and meet us at Animal Kingdom in the morning. Finally, I belive it was around midnight, or later, they found each other at Magic Kingdom. According to the photopass pictures, they had some fun at Epcot!

image464_640x425.jpg

I love this picture of Casey. Her eyes look SO blue!

image465_319x480-1.jpg

They even met Dopey!

image461_640x457.jpg

Teresa had bought matching purple crown shirts for all the girls (except Tessa :rolleyes1 ). We tried to provide nice outfits for Casey and Courtney for every day of the trip. Otherwise, we weren't sure what they would show up in!

Okay, back to me, me, me. After getting off the phone with the 'rents, I got myself and the kids ready to go. I had made Tessa and Sawyer matching Chip and Dale (and Clarice) outfits. I didn't know Clarice existed until a wonderful Disboutiquer named Anastasia gave me the idea. Thanks Anna!! Apparently, she was the girlfriend of one of the Chipmunks and I was going to find out which one! Tessa's skirt is made out of fabric that was pixie dusted pixiedust: to me by a wonderful Diser. I didn't get a good picture of them together in their outfits, so here are some I took at home.

I even tricked Henry into wearing his Jungle Book shirt in case we met Baloo, and his camo shorts to match Sawyer. I didn't tell him that was why, but I set it out for him and he put it on without suspecting.

We were ready to go. But, I couldn't find my sunglasses! Yes, my SUPER-COOL, 5 year old, $1 store sunglasses had gone missing!!! I looked in Teresa and Brian's van because that's where I had last seem them. But, I didn't find them. I can NOT tolerate the Florida sun without sunglasses. So, I decided to stop at WalMart on the way to the parks and pick up some new ones. Teresa and Brian weren't ready yet, so I told Corey to tell them that we would meet them in the WalMart parking lot. On our way to WalMart I started getting nervous. Corey's a great kid, but he's never been real good at relaying messages.

Truth be told, I wanted a new pair of sunglasses anyway. I had been eyeing some at WalMart, but couldn't bring myself to pay $8 for them when I had a perfectly good pair of $1 store sunglasses already. So, I already knew the exact pair I wanted and I knew I could go in and grab them and pay in less than 5 minutes. As Henry let me out of the car, he said "Grab me some Bonine, too." He gets motion sickness really easy and he'd been taking this every day in case he goes on any rides. That threw a wrench into my grab 'n go plans, but I still managed to find the Bonine and the sunglasses, pay, find a nice fellow to cut the tag off my glasses (I don't particularly like the "nose protector" option), and get out of the store in 3 minutes! I'm just that good!

I hopped in the car and we started circling the parking lot looking for Teresa and Brian. We didn't see them and I was starting to get nervous. But, just as we made a full circle, I spotted them pulling into the parking lot. Perfect timing! So, we fell in line behind them and we were off to Animal Kingdom!

Most people would have said "I lost my sunglasses, so I bought a new pair at WalMart. But, I just turned it into a 3 paragraph epic adventure. How good am I? :cool2:

Mom and Dad planned on meeting us at the parks later because they were really tired. We had planned to be there at rope drop, but we were too late. So, we missed the little opening show. I don't remember it being all that great anyway.

We got to the park and who did we see?! Chip and Dale!!!!!! I LOVE Chip and Dale! They hold a special place in my heart! When Tessa was 2 3/4, Mom and I took her to Disney and she was scared of all of the characters. But, she actually went up and hugged Chip and Dale (and Meeko). This was taken just before she hugged them in 2006.

This was taken in 2008!

DSC08512_360x480.jpg

She just couldn't stop hugging Chip!

DSC08513_640x480.jpg

They kept pointing to her outfit and then touching their hearts. I asked Chip if Clarice was his girlfriend. He emphatically nodded his head yes. So, I asked Dale if Clarice was his girlfriend. He also nodded his head yes. Well, that brazen little hussy! I can't believe I appliqued her onto Tessa's shirt!

This character interaction was truly magical, for me at least! I have a hard time talking to the characters, but not my Chip and Dale. They are real!

DSC08515_640x480.jpg

Still hugging!

DSC08516_640x480.jpg

Why am I not in these pictures, you ask? There was no photopass photographer, so I had to take the pictures! :headache:

Tessa saw the talking palm tree and REALLY wanted to go find it. But some of us needed a bathroom break, so we did that first. But, when we came out, the talking palm tree was gone.

We walked a little ways into the park and we happened upon Eeyore and Tigger! I didn't know if we were going to do both lines, so I sent Henry over to Tigger with Sawyer because he was really excited to see him.
Here's my picture of them.

DSC08520_360x480.jpg

Up next: Tigger= Twinkletoes?

Right around this time, Mom called me on my cell phone and said they decided to take the day off so they could relax. They were still exhausted from being up so late the night before.

Here's the photopass pictures.

image432_640x425-1.jpg

He looks slightly reluctant, no?

And finally, he gives in to the magic, a bit.

image439_303x480-1.jpg

I was over at Eeyore with the rest of the gang and Tessa tried to hand him her pen. But, he kept dropping it, on purpose! He was trying to motion to Tessa and Lydia that he liked their outfit! He also pointed to my shirt and put his hands to his heart. I was wearing an Eeyore shirt, of course!

image394-1.jpg

Teresa made Lydia's wonderful little Minnie dot Animal Kingdom dress!

image396_640x425.jpg

A bunch of us with Eeyore.

image399_640x425.jpg

Then, I requested that we get a picture of just Teresa with Eeyore. Eeyore is very special to Teresa. When Corey was a little boy, Teresa tragically lost her baby, Quinn, when she was 19 weeks pregnant. It was such an incredibly hard time for her. It was awful for all of us. I bought her a stuffed Eeyore and brought it to the hospital (she had to be induced and go through labor). I thought she could relate to Eeyore's sadness. Okay, I'm really crying now. Anyway, Eeyore is special to Teresa. If you want to read about her babies, the link is in her signature.

image401_342x480.jpg

I'm still crying so give me a minute here...

Okay, I think I'm all right.

I don't remember if we got in line for Tigger, or if we just went over there because there wasn't a line. Either way, we saw Tigger.

DSC08526_360x480.jpg

Tigger is Brian's favorite!

DSC08528_360x480.jpg

We walked along a little more after that and we saw a trail where there were supposed to be characters. There was a name for this area, but I don't know what it was!

It said that Pooh and Friends were going to be arriving any minute. So, we went up and waited for the trail to open. We were the first ones in line! Well, there were some little girls there waiting all by themselves. When they saw us coming over, they went off to the side and got in line behind us. Apparently they were waiting for their dad. I told them they could go first since they were there first, but they let us go. Very sweet girls!

In a few minutes, they dropped the rope and we raced to meet us some characters!

Corey and Henry had went to fetch fastpasses for Expedition Everest for us while we met the characters. I'm sure Henry was devestated to have missed this opportunity!

The first was none other than Winnie the Pooh. Tessa Sawyer, and Corey all had a Winnie the Pooh mobile in their crib, so we like Pooh!

DSC08530_360x480.jpg

image407_640x425.jpg

Long time, no see, Eeyore!

image408_640x425.jpg

Sawyer was pointing at the NEXT character, who he was really excited about. I'm telling him that Eeyore is niiiiice.

image409_640x425.jpg

I love me some Eeyore, too. Especially because he likes spinning, mostly 'round.

image411_342x480.jpg

Here's who Sawyer really wanted to see! It's Piglet!

image415_640x425-1.jpg

Really, he was very excited about it until we got right up to him.

I love this picture because Arminda has a nice, natural smile on her face. She's so pretty!

image423_319x480-1.jpg

When it was our turn to see Tigger, yes AGAIN! This is what we were greeted with.

It was SO much fun! The girls just loved it! As you can tell from my giggling in the video, so did I! It was just great!

Yet another Tigger picture!

image425_640x425-1.jpg

After our wonderful character interactions, we met up with Henry and Corey and headed over to Dinoland. We spotted these guys.

DSC08534_360x480.jpg

As we watched them, I got that uncomfortable "This is kind of stupid, I'd rather be doing something else, how do I walk away without hurting their feelings" kind of feeling. Their tricks were kind of neat, but they had ZERO charisma! It was as if they were doing their little shtick to entertain themselves, not their audience, if that makes any sense. Maybe it was because it was STEAMING hot! I wouldn't blame them for being miserably hot, I know I was!

We watched the rest of the show and rode on the dinosaurs that go in a circle (sorry, not up on my dinoland lingo). There was no line at all! Look at my beautiful sister looking lovingly at her daughter.

DSC08535_640x480.jpg

Up Next: Tessa Twice Terrorized

This is the closest my kids came to riding Dumbo on this trip. :sad2:

DSC08543_640x480.jpg

Tessa got to ride with Arminda and she was pretty excited about that.

DSC08540_359x480.jpg

Hi Corey and Brian!

DSC08539_640x480.jpg

After the dinosaurs that go in a circle-WAIT!! It's called Triceratops Spin! I remembered!

Anyway, after we rode that, Arminda wanted to go on that other twirly dinosaur roller coaster. She has never been able to ride it because she's vertically challenged. But, this year she was good to go!!

DSC08546_640x478.jpg

I can't tell you how long I made the poor kid stand there while I tried to get her to put her thumbs up. Finally, Teresa stuck her thumb in the picture so the poor child could just get on the coaster.

Tessa was not tall enough to ride and I captured the moment.

DSC08548_360x480.jpg

Sawyer didn't really care either way.

DSC08549_360x480.jpg

I'd like to take this opportunity to point out the orange/yellow stains on Sawyer's shirt. Henry gave him an orange while we were watching the painter guys. Said orange got all over his shirt that I painstakingly appliquéd for him. So, he had a stained shirt for the rest of the day. Was I irritated? NO....not at all...I did have bibs in the diaper bag...

We went over and rode triceratops spin again while we waited.

I got to sit by Sawyer!

DSC08553_640x480.jpg

Tessa rode with Daddy.

DSC08554_640x480.jpg

Then, we waited for Arminda, Teresa, and Corey to exit the other spinny dinosaur roller coaster thing. I'd been on that ride once before and I had NO desire to repeat the experience. UGH!

Sawyer was getting pretty hot! But, he was having fun.

DSC08561_640x480.jpg

Tessa loves her Uncle Brian, even though she gets him mixed up with Uncle David. She's kissing his arm. How sweet!

DSC08563_640x480.jpg

I believe Tessa and Lydia are bustin' a move here.

DSC08566_640x480.jpg

This was taken just before Sawyer fell flat on his face. Poor baby!

DSC08568_360x480.jpg

After what seemed like a really long time, they finally got off the ride. Aren't they cute?

DSC08569_360x480-1.jpg

I had never ridden Dinosaur! (is that what it's called?) So, I took Corey, Arminda, and Tessa with me to ride it. I think Teresa, Brian, Henry, Lydia, and Sawyer went to play in the Boneyard while we rode it.

Corey and I chuckled about all the McDonald's advertising there was in line for Dinosaur. It was pretty ridiculous. There was even an announcement that would intermittently tell us the ride was sponsored by McDonalds. Come on!! Don't they charge us enough to get into the parks, they have to shove advertisements down our throats?

I warned Tessa well before we came in that this ride might be kind of scary. But, she really wanted to ride it anyway. I explained to her that the dinosaurs weren't real and I didn't believe in them. So, the Disney magic wouldn't work on them. She seemed okay with this.

However, once the ride began, I'm pretty sure she was terrified. She was clutching my hand so hard she was cutting off my circulation. I, on the other hand, thought it was great! I have heard so many negative things about this ride. So, I was pleasantly surprised by how good it was! It was a little scary, and I liked it!!! I'm pretty sure Arminda was a tad scared herself.

When the ride was over, Tessa started crying and when I asked her why, she quickly said it was because she wanted to ride again. She did this same thing after we got off of Space Mountain. She really did like that one. But, when I asked her if she really wanted to ride Dinosaur again, she said no. I think she was just traumatized!

We went back to the Boneyard to find the rest of the family. My gosh, it was SOOO hot in there!! UGH!!! I thought I was going to pass out. I looked around for Henry and found him. He gave me Sawyer and then mysteriously dissapeared. I didn't plan on staying in that awful place for long, but I couldn't figure out where Henry went. I really hate big play areas like this because I can't watch both of the kids well enough. Plus, I didn't know the layout of this place at all. I did manage to get this really pretty picture of Tessa.

DSC08570_360x480-1.jpg

Sawyer, Arminda, and Lydia were having a great time!

DSC08571_360x480-1.jpg

Arminda is my little helper and she was helping me keep track of Sawyer.

DSC08572_360x480-1.jpg

We finally gathered up the kids and went out of the boneyard. I figured Henry would be out there somewhere. He was waiting on a bench, talking on his cell phone. He was talking to our friends, Ryan and Kelly. They called to tell us that Kelly is pregnant!   I was so happy! She had just lost a baby a few months earlier, so this was extra special news! So, of course I cried!

It was time to use our Expedition Everest fast passes, so we headed over there. Tessa decided that she wanted to ride it. She wasn't scared of the roller coaster part, but I did warn her that there was one monster looking thing inside.

I had never ridden EE, so I didn't realize that you saw the Yeti twice. I heard about that little mixup, let me tell you! As luck would have it, Tessa and I rode in the front! :scared: It was a pretty cool roller coaster.

I didn't like how much it jerked me around and it gave me a headache, so I don't know whether I'll ride it again. Tessa loved it, except for the 2nd Yeti sighting! :rotfl:

We were all getting really hot and we decided we needed to ride Kali River Rapids. Did I mention that it was sweltering hot??? It was SOOO hot! No, I did NOT whine about it at all! :rolleyes1 When we got over to Kali River Rapids, there was some discussion as to whether we should just ride it or get a fast pass. The wait was 30 minutes and I really didn't want to wait in line, so we got FP.

Up Next: A Dismeet I will NEVER forget (or inadvertantly omit)!!

Right around this time, we spotted a guy standing around holding an adorable baby in a baby carrier that had a LIME GREEN MICKEY HEAD attached!!!

We didn't get a picture of his lime green mickey head diaper bag, but here is my lime green purse that I bought just for you all. Plus, my lime green mickey head that says "Do you Dis? HeatherSue"

S6300342.jpg

Teresa and I went over to him and asked if he was a Diser. He looked a bit confused at first and then I saw a lightbulb go on. He said that his wife was the Diser and that she was on Kali River Rapids. We asked what her username was and he said it was Lauren-n-Jeff So, SHOUTOUT TO LAUREN-N-JEFF!!! Sorry we bugged your poor husband. I could see we made him uncomfortable. But, he was very nice anyway. I wish we could have met you, too!

It was lunchtime, so we went to Pizzafari. We knew there was a fellow disboutiquer in the park that day. Her name is Chantelle and her username is Disney 4 Me. We had been keeping our eyes peeled for her all day. We kept seeing people that "could" be her, but they didn't have the right kids when them. We had Chantelle's cell phone number, so we had called her to see if she wanted to meet us at Pizzafari. But, we just got her voice mail. We still looked for her while we were eating, just in case she decided to come in.

After several spilled drinks and a couple of trips up to get refills of said spilled drinks, we were ready to go.

Chantelle called as we were leaving Pizzafari and we made plans to meet her and her sister in front of Kali River Rapids (but they weren't riding).

Sawyer fell asleep in the stroller as we walked back to Kali River Rapids. So, he missed THIS!

DSC08580_360x480-1.jpg

Yes, it was DeVine! Oooh...it's a lady covered in leaves on stilts. Yes, I'm very hard to impress. She also just seems to be a little full of her leafy self. :snooty: However, Tessa was very impressed! She was even more impressed when we got back to our rental house that night and I informed her that DeVine lived there. The people we were renting it from had the last name of Devine. She thought that was AWESOME!

We got over to Kali River Rapids and Henry sat down on this cart thing. He didn't realize that the cart thing was hooked to a bike thing that a very little girl was sitting on, getting her picture taken. He almost catapulted the poor thing off into the atmosphere! I'm sure they got a pretty interesting shot!

After the Disney-hater stopped harassing small children, we stood around looking for Chantelle.

I told Henry that Chantelle had 2 adorable little girls with curly hair and an adorable little boy. Real desciptive, huh? After a little while, Henry said "Is that them?" I said "No, that's not her." But, then I realized that I had no idea what Chantelle looked like, I only knew what her kids looked like! So, I looked down and there were the adorable little curly haired girls I'd seen in her pictures and their adorable little brother!! It was her! She also had her sister and her nieces with her. They were such a cute group of people! I loved that Chantelle and her niece were wearing matching shirts.

DSC08573_640x480-1.jpg

We chatted with her a while. I hope I didn't say anything too stupid as my brain was fried, I was SO hot! I mentioned how hot it was and she said it was great! I'm glad someone was enjoying it! Teresa didn't seem to be terribly hot, either. But, everyone else in our group was looking a little runny. Anyway, her kids are even cuter in person than they are online. Just ADORABLE! She was a sweetheart and I'm so glad we got to meet her! We posed for a few pictures.

DSC08574_640x480-1.jpg

We chatted a bit more. I wish Sawyer would have been awake because I think he would have liked her little boy.

DSC08577_640x480-1.jpg

Then, we parted ways.

Teresa had packed some handy-dandy ponchos to wear on Kali River Rapids. They were the nice, thick ones, but they were for kids. I was going to use one just because I didn't want my undies getting wet. No, light colored pants for me this day, though! :thumbsup2

As we were walking through the line, I started putting my poncho on. Oh MY GOSH! I thought I was going to die! :scared1:

It was so heavy and opressive, I thought I was going to suffocate. I had a mini panic attack and took it off as fast as I could. Phew!

We were in a boat with a great family who was having as much fun as we were. We all took great pleasure when someone else got soaked. I think we all ended up pretty soaked by the time the ride was over. I was wishing I had gotten wetter.

About 10 minutes after the ride, we were all dry again.

We walked along in the steaming heat until we came upon a line. We hopped in it because we just LOOOVE lines!! No, we assumed there would be a character at the end of it, and there was. It was Baloo and King Louie!! What a coincidence, Henry just so happened to be wearing a Jungle Book shirt!

As soon as we got in line, Louie and Baloo left! Teresa assured me that they usually only go away for 5 minutes or so. So, we held our spots.

Teresa's kids went across the walkway with Brian and started playing some drums. I looked over and my jaw dropped open in SHOCK! There was a girl over there who WASN'T WEARING ANY PANTS!!! :scared1:

Seriously, she was standing there in a short t-shirt and her tighty whities! I first took her to be at least 11 years old since she was taller than Arminda. But, then I realized that since Arminda is vertically challenged, this girl could be more like 9. But, I couldn't BELIEVE her parents would let her walk around with no pants!!! Then, I realized that she wasn't with her parents, she was with a group of other kids and a couple of adults. So, her parents probably had no idea that their child was walking around Animal Kingdom with no pants on. I thought about taking a picture and discussed this with Teresa. But, we decided that would probably be in bad taste. So, you will just have to picture a semi-chunky, tall 8 or 9 year old (or short 11 year old), playing bongo drums in Animal Kingdom, with NO PANTS!

Henry had retreated to a cool spot with water misters all around. This is where he parked his butt until we were ready to move on. So, I'd be getting no pictures of Henry in his themed shirt with the characters it portrayed. :sad2:

Tessa REALLY wanted to go play the drums. But, being the overprotective mom that I am, I made her stay with me. I thought Brian had his hands full with his own kids and I couldn't see her good enough over there with all the people walking by. I wish I would have just let her go over there because it was quite a wait for the characters to come back. I was starting to think they had ditched us. But, they returned about 15 mintues later, right when I was thinking that I wasn't going to wait anymore.

While we were waiting to get to the front of the line, a woman in line behind me pointed to Tessa's outfit and said "Where did you get that cute outfit?" I told her I made it and she seemed to be very impressed. She said she could sew a little, but didn't think she could attempt something like that. I encouraged her to give it a try since I had only been sewing for 10 months at that point. She asked if I sold clothes on ebay and I told her I didn't. She then told me that I should! That was the best compliment I got on our whole trip! :cloud9:

We finally got to the front of the line and Tessa was pretty excited that she'd get "the monkey"'s autograph. I had to break it to her that he couldn't sign his name (he has very long arms), but she could get a picture with him. She seemed okay with that.

DSC08586_360x480-1.jpg

By the time we made it to the front of the line, there was quite a line behind us. While our kids were getting their pictures taken, 2 women came up and said "We just want a picture, is that okay?" I told her that was fine with me as long as they didn't try to get in the picture. I pointed out the long line of people waiting to do that exact same thing and said they'd be cutting in front of all those people if they went up to the characters. She said "Okay", so I assumed she was just going to snap a picture of the characters. But NO! One of the women went and stood by Balloo and the other one took her picture! So, these women have a vacation photo with themselves and our cute kids with Baloo and King Louie. I was more than a little annoyed. I wish I would have gotten a picture of them so I could "out" the line cutters on the Disboards, but I didn't.

DSC08588_360x480-1.jpg

Lydia just couldn't stop hugging Baloo!

Next, we went over and got some fast passes for Kilimanjaro Safari. I hope I spelled that somewhat correctly! We went down Pangani Forest Exploration Trail while we waited for our FP time. Sawyer woke up just in time to see one of these things.

DSC08591_640x480-1.jpg

He was mighty impressed, bedhead (or, in this case, magical reclining stroller head) and all!

DSC08594_640x480-1.jpg

Tessa asked the CM that was standing there at least 5 times what kind of animal this was.

DSC08592_360x480-1.jpg

He didn't answer her until I chimed in and said "I'm sure he'll answer you honey. Ask him again." I'm not sure what he was doing there, if not telling people about the animals.:confused3

DSC08596_360x480-1.jpg

We continued down the trail and went in the building with frogs and such in it. Then, we came upon Lydia and Tessa's favorite part! They each got sheets with pictures of birds on it and were told to try and find ALL of them. They took this task VERY seriously. Here they are looking for birds in the water.

Found one!

DSC08598_640x480-1.jpg

Tessa was mostly concerned with finding the "hammercop" because her Daddy uses a hammer when he builds houses and he is a cop. If only it were a "painted hammercop", it would have been PERFECT! You know, because Henry paints cars, too. Tessa searched and searched and searched for that bird!

Sawyer was feeling the heat.

DSC08603_360x480-1.jpg

But, he was enjoying himself. Yes, he's drinking out of a pink sippy cup. What do you wanna make of it? Huh? Huh?

Up Next: A Magical Moment every bit as good as a night in the castle

FINALLY (after about 1/2 hour), Tessa found the ever-elusive hammercop!

DSC08606_640x480-1.jpg

It was then that she received her MAGICAL MOMENT, the first and only magical moment of our trip! The very sweet woman working back in the bird sanctuary handed her a certificate that said she was an official bird watcher. Wow, we were all thrilled  We graciously thanked her and asked her some questions about the hammercop. She told me how they build their nests and about how one of them swooped down and almost hit someone in the head one year when it had babies in it's nest. Then, she told me that exact story, word for word, a second time. Apparently, she tells the story so much that she can't remember if she just said it or not.

Tessa, Lydia, and I moved on to the hippos while everyone else was still looking for birds. The hippos were really far away from the window and we couldn't see them. So, I told the girls that I think hippos also speak whale. So, we tried to call them over "Cooooooommmmmmmmmmmmmme oooooooooooooooovvvvvvvvvveeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeerrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr heeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeerrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrre pleeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeease! Weeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaant tooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo seeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee yoooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooou!" Apparently, hippos do not, in fact, speak whale, :confused3 because they didn't budge.

We looked at some monkeys. I told Sawyer not to feed the monkeys, but as you can see, he didn't listen.

Aren't they sweet?

DSC08609_640x480-1.jpg

Tessa was looking through the wrong end of the telescope. Being the helpful mother that I am, I just sat back and laughed.

We were SO hot! We stopped and got some popsicles for the kids and we watched some dancing guys in Africa. Actually, I mostly sat and relaxed because I had to actually stand up to see the dancing guys. Those guys danced for a LOOONG time! We were actually sitting here waiting for the 3:00 parade so we could watch that before our FP came up. However, after sitting there for a while, we actually checked the schedule and realized that it was actually a 4:00 parade! :headache:

There was a little hopscotch area set up and the kids had a lot of fun playing over there. The people working there were just wonderful. They were so sweet and encouraging to the kids.

Sawyer LOVED it! He was getting clapped at! He was feeling pretty cool!

DSC08631_640x480-1.jpg

It was finally time for our kilimanjaro safari fast passes! When we got on the ride, the driver went a little psycho on us. He started yelling at someone to hold onto their kid. He never said who he was talking to, so I was wondering if he was talking to me. I was holding Sawyer, so I looked behind me and the woman behind me was holding her daughter as well. But, she was really upset because she thought he was talking to her and she kept saying "I am holding her!" He never said who he was talking to, but we're pretty sure it was someone way in the back of the truck. He was being a huge jerk about it! He even slammed on the breaks in the truck. Sawyer's head hit the seat hard when he did that I wanted to get up and smack him in the back of the head. Here's the back of his head.

DSC08634_640x480-1.jpg

Make sure you watch the video at the end of this AK day update. Corey got the jerk on tape.

We saw a lot of animals on the safari. The kids were so excited to see them all!

I love elephants! I won't go to the circus because they are mistreated there. These looked like pretty happy elephants!

DSC08649_640x480-1.jpg

Flamingos! A guy in rubber pants!

DSC08653_640x480-1.jpg

Every time I see rhinos I think of a little boy in our day care named Jacob that used to carry around a plastic "rhiner" all day. He was SO cute, which was good because he was REALLY naughty!

DSC08655_640x480-1.jpg

We actually saw the lions up and walking around. This guy just roared, but we couldn't hear it.

DSC08658_640x471-1.jpg

The lioness was up, too.

Up next: Watch the Psycho Busdriver in Action!

Tessa LOVED it!!

DSC08670_640x480-1.jpg

This safari was so much better than the previous time I'd been on it (besides the psycho driver). The last time, the driver kept driving past all of the animals and then he'd sit in front of a stone wall while the people in front of us looked at the animals. Then, he's speed through the animals and let us sit in front of some bushes, etc.... I was unimpressed! Now I see how cool this safari is!! I can't wait to ride it again someday!

I was absolutely drained by the time we got off the safari. So, Henry and I were fixin' to head on out. Sawyer was in melt-down mode and all we could think of was getting to the house, swimming, and relaxing.

But, there was a parade blocking the way out of the park! We asked a CM how to get out. They pointed us down a path. As we were going down the path, another CM blocked it off and said to go back because it was closed for the parade. We went back down the path and we were blocked by, guess what- the parade! UGH!

So, we were forced to watch the end of the parade (which I'm sure was lovely) and then followed it out of the park. I find it VERY annoying that there is no way to leave the park during the parade! I find the whole layout of Animal Kingdom very annoying. "Bottleneck City" is what they should have called this place!

Needless to say, we did eventually make it out of the park and we got safely back to our rental house. Aaaahhhh....

Don't tell Mom, Dad, and David, but I was actually glad they decided not to come to AK with us. I thought it was really special spending the day with my sister. I had a great time and it was nice to be with just her and her family. :grouphug:

To tide you over until my next installment, watch this fascinating video of our Animal Kingdom day- complete with the "psycho busdriver" episode!

Up Next: Is that an  I see?

Oh yea! Another post! Longtime lurker first time poster. I love yours and your sisters writing style. Your family sounds wonderful and your little ones are beautiful. Well I'm off to enjoy the latest installment.

Thank you! :rotfl: We really need to start a thread of "backside beauties"!

It was finally time for our kilimanjaro safari fast passes! When we got on the ride, the driver went a little psycho on us. He started yelling at someone to hold onto their kid. I can tell by the color of his hair and the way he's holding it that he is a STUPID HEAD! :rotfl: Sorry you had another less then pleasant CM. I think I definetly would've said something to him about slamming on the breaks like that though! That was definetly out of line! You shoulda reported him to the principal!

It's a good thing I'm gonna be there with you in February. Between the 2 of us- we'll set all those SH's straight!

Awesome update!!! I loved the sunglasses story!! THat is something I do too, turn a simple story into something that the person can really experience!! lol

The AK pics were great, I loved the kids outfits!! That driver on the safari was horrible!!! I couldn't believe that he mentioned about law suits!!! Not very Disney like!!! The rest of the video was great, got to see the pics come alive!!

I loved how Tessa & Lydia looked for the birds on the sheet!! That is something that DD (Abby) would do as well!! She wouldn't be happy until she found all of them!! lol

Can't wait to hear more!! I am totally hooked on your TR!!!

Wow! I'm a little in shock by the video of the psycho driver. He sounds much younger than the grey hair. Altho he sounds calm, he is obviously psycho - "lawsuits" and "obviously you think" - yikes. I would have been mortified if it were me and I happened to be holding a child.

Great update. Glad we weren't the only people trapped by the afternoon parade!

"back by popular demand" :lmao:

Prodigal son! :rotfl2:
I love that he was so practical. We'll just get a cab and a hotel room and then cab back to AK and eventually we'll find them.

I bet it would be a lot less expensive to give eveyone in your party the address of your rental home and the phone number! :lmao:

Loving the Dancing Tigger! So fun.

Henry wears characters on his shirt?!?
John might not want to be associated with him anymore,
no matter how many guns he might have. :rolleyes1

We soooo love Tessa teaching Lydia Chinese. :rotfl:
So something my 5 yo would do.

And Sawyer pushing everyone else out of his Gorilla viewing area...
So something my baby would do!

ETA: We also were trapped by the parade. That will be in the next day of my trip report.

Great update! :thumbsup2
