We took a long time getting the car seats out of our van and putting them into Teresa's van. Then, we went out to catch a bus to MK. On the way, we saw this headdress covered in "blood". Tessa was upset about that and kept asking what had happened. Was someone hurt?
Look at this cool post!
Dad and Jacob sat down to wait for the bus.
We waited,
And we waited, and we waited...
While we were waiting, we decided that we weren't going to try and go to the Campfire Singalong later on that night. No one had said they were going to be there and none of us really wanted to go if we wouldn't be meeting other Disers. Mom and Dad told David and Barbara that they would meet them at Fort Wilderness that night. David and Barbara didn't have a car, so they were relying on Mom and Dad for transportation. Mom gave them her cell phone so they could keep in touch. But, when mom tried calling them to tell them about the change in plans, they didn't answer. We all stood around trying to figure out why they didn't answer the phone.
Tessa, Lydia, and Megan all really seemed to like each other. They decided that since we weren't going to the camfire singalong, they would make their own "campfire".
They kept running off to get more "firewood"
I would like to explain that I did NOT plan on putting Tessa's shirt with those shorts. But, Henry thought the pants I had layed out for her to wear were dirty, so he stuck them in the washing machine. So, this is all she had, and it looks like she's not wearing pants. I would have put something else on her if I would have known we were going to the parks.
Where did Lydia go?
Oh yeah, she's with her daddy...sweeping...
Where Brian found a broom and why he was using it...I will never know.
After 3 buses came by for Typhoon Lagoon, 2 buses for Animal Kingdom, and a bus each for Epcot and MGM, along came a bus for Magic Kingdom. This is when I decided that I REALLY like the bus system at POP! I don't know how long we waited there for sure, but it was a LOONG time!
There was some discussion about who got to sit next to Megan and Lydia ended up sitting next to her. Tessa sat by me and I recall some whining, but since I didn't take notes, I don't remember what it was about.
When we got to the park, Megan was pretty intrigued by my sit 'n stand stroller. So, she wanted to sit in it. I told her to go right ahead. She seemed pretty pleased that she got to sit in a stroller! To think, her cruel mother actually makes her WALK!
Megan mentioned that she wanted to ride Pooh. So, my mom made sure that's where we headed first. Mom is so sweet like that! She always wants to make kids happy. The line was long, so we headed over to Buzz Lightyear.
Everyone paired up and I ended up riding with Steph. Let me just say, I got all nervous riding with someone that wasn't in my family. Does she know how to do this really well? Will she get upset if I don't turn the little car the right way? Am I going to mess up everything? Is she going to hate me? Yeah, I know, I'm a little neurotic. So, I started out steering the little car. But, then I let my anxiety overtake me and told Steph she should steer. She took charge and was quite the expert!
Corey and Jacob were behind us and we kept facing them and shooting at them.
Sorry Jacob!
Tessa was lovin' it! She looked like she was having none of the social anxiety that I was experiencing.
Look at Steph and I having a roarin' good time!
Teresa and Brian seem to be taking this very seriously.
The kids stopped for the obligatory "caged with the Evil Emperor Zurg" pictures, but I can't find them!
We all decided to go to the Carousel of Progress. I hadn't seen this attraction (I hesitate to call it a ride) since I was a kid. I just loved the dog and the song "Now is the time, now is the best time, now is the best time of our lives." Yes, I remembered it after all those years.
Imagine my horror when I discovered that they had CHANGED THE SONG!!
The attraction just didn't do it for me after that. The final scene has got to be my favorite. Oooh!! It's the future! They're wearing virtual reality headgear, circa 1995 or so. Wow, look at that projection tv- very Future!! Wow, check out the amazing graphics on that video game! How hilarious that grandma is playing a video game... How about that daughter's getup. Stirrup pants with socks over them, big baggy sweater. So, they don't change the clothes on the animatronic people, but they change the SONG?! Do I seem bitter? Perhaps...they CHANGED THE SONG!!!
Stephanie made a very funny comment during the final scene and I don't remember what it was now! Hey, I just now realized that the final scene probably isn't supposed to be the future. I bet it's supposed to be 2000 or so, since they say we have a whole new century in front of us. Any insight on this from anyone?
We got fastpasses for Pooh and I believe it gave us fastpasses for Phillaharmagic again. We saw the show and then went over to It's a Small World. There was some discussion about who got to sit next to Megan. Megan handled it very nicely and said she would sit in the middle of Lydia and Tessa.
Arminda was happy to sit next to Jacob.
After IASW, we redeemed our Pooh FP. Tessa decided she wanted to sit by Jacob this time.
I don't know how this happened, but I got to sit by Megan this time!
You'd think she would have been a little weirded out sitting between me and Corey, but it didn't seem to phase her. They all fit in with our family so nicely, it was like we had known each other forever!
Look! Here's my very short video of Mr. Toad handing the deed to Owl!
When we got off the ride, mom was concerned because they still couldn't reach David on the cell phones. So, they left to meet them at Fort Wilderness.
Steph wanted to stop and get something to eat. This sounded like a great idea to me since it'd been a while since lunch. We went to "The Poor Man's Garden Grill", as Corey calls it. It's the Pinocchio restaurant, but I can't remember the name. I had never been in there before and I always thought it was a fancy restaurant. I never realized it was counter service! D'oh!
I was SOOOO exhausted (did I mention that I pushed 3 little girls, about 130lbs of 'em, in the sit 'n stand most of the day?) and I think everyone else was feeling pretty tired, too. So after we ate, we decided it was time to head on out.
