Dorky Disboutiquing DiserSistas:Destination Disney HeatherSue's(best)version OVER1/27

Megan is not happy that Lydia is not coming with Tessa! She thinks they are a pair and should always travel together!
I was GOING to say that Lydia thinks so too, but I see Heather already said it, so I won't. :snooty:

OK, Megan looked at the latest installment with me, so you are going to get her comments. She wouldn't let me read anything to her so these are just based on the pictures but I think she got the gist of your report. I think you can figure out which comment goes with which pictures:
*I heard Tessa and Lydia! Play it again! (ed. note: and again and again and again)

That concludes Megan's comments on your latest installment!
I love it!!! Megan is a good commentor!!! And you are so sweet to take notes for us!!!!
Yes, I think I remember the Scooby Doo roller coaster. But, this may be a memory of you telling me I did that, I'm not sure!

Henry has that affect on women, young and old! ;) Lydia also has quite a crush on her Uncle Henry. You should have seen her face the day she saw him in his police uniform for the first time. SOO cute! Courtney also had a crush on Uncle Henry when she was little. I believe Arminda did, too.
I can't believe Mom let you go on that roller coaster when you were only 2 though!!! :scared1: I remember so clearly going to sleep in the hotel the night before, you were SOOO excited you could hardly stand it!!!! That was at King's Island. And, I think we saw that rollercoaster again when we went when Arminda was a baby (when they had the Titanic exhibit there), and, it STILL looked too big for a two year old!

Yep, Lydia is QUITE infatuated with Uncle Henry!!!! :lovestruc She was so cute when she saw him in his police uniform!!!

Totally OT -
My son was also born on December 22 (except in 1988, lol !) and weighed in at 7-11, (20 inches) !
He's now 6'2", 190 lbs and wears size 13 shoes ! ! ! :scared1:

Wow! He's a big guy! I actually feel a bit sorry for DD. I think December birthday's can be a bit of a bummer. Bf's b-day's the 30th and my mom's is the 26th. They said when they were kids they'd get the shirt for their b-day then the matching pants on x-mas. :rotfl:

Heather, OT but kinda not: My aunt was sunbathing one time up north and a seagull flew over and crapped right in her eye! She said it burned. :lmao:

:Oh, thank you!! I don't want to think about my kids growing up and having to reminisce about them being little. *sigh* I'm having a hard enough time with Tessa starting kindergarten this year. :sad2:

I am so glad I am not the only one! My DD Jordan (an only child) starts kindergarten at the end of August. I am having a really hard time with it. The other day I told her she can't turn 5 and she can't go to kindergarten. She put her little hands on my face and said, "Mom, it's okay. I have to turn 5 and go to kindergarten. But, don't worry, I will still give you lots of snuggles." Nothing like being consoled by an almost five year old.

Hi HeatherSue!

I managed to come across your TR somehow and I'm glad I did! I just finished reading and had a great time doing so. It sounds like you guys had a wonderful time. I especially love the disney hater comments as my DH is basically the same. :rotfl: We're going to going to several of the same restaurants on our trip that your family did (1900 Park Fare, Chef Mickey's, etc) so I loved reading about your adventures there (and seeing the pics!). Can't wait to read more!!
Hi!! I'm glad you're enjoying my TR!! Too bad you're married to a Disney-hater. Hopefully he's perfect in every other way. ;)

Heather, OT but kinda not: My aunt was sunbathing one time up north and a seagull flew over and crapped right in her eye! She said it burned. :lmao:
:rotfl: I was pooped on by a seagull at Cedar Point. Landed right in my hand.

Oh, she sounds so sweet! I'm having a hard time with it, especially with it only being a 1 1/2 months away now! Poor Teresa, Lydia goes all day every day for kindergarten! At least Tessa is only going 1/2 days.

Hey! You're new! Did you think you'd sneak in under my radar or something?
:welcome: to my TR!

:rotfl: I was pooped on by a seagull at Cedar Point. Landed right in my hand.

My son's arm was pooped on at a Cowboy's game, and then again a week later while waiting for Fantasmic . . . . Karma, ya think ?

Hey! You're new! Did you think you'd sneak in under my radar or something?
:welcome: to my TR!

Mea culpa ! D*mn you're good at that radar stuff ! Loving your TR !

I have been reading along for awhile and finally decided to say hi.
I am also reading your sisters TR.
Your kids are so cute.
My favorite thing so far was the step sister that kept calling Sawyers name. That had me in stitches for days!
And, yes, that DH of yours is pretty cute even if he is a disney hater. :guilty:
Wishing you continued good health and many trips to Disney!

1.) I was once hit by a quarter that must have flown out of someone's pocket while they were on The Mantis (at least I think that was the name of the coaster) It hurt like crazy, and it left a scar! (Ok, it's not bird poop, but I just wanted to try to fit in!)

Welcome!!!!

okay, I'm FINALLY caught up on Miss HeatherSue's version...Thanks for the "What's that smell on the monorail" ShoutOut!!!:lmao: I've heard a few reasons as to why. I will now formally believe Henry HeatherSue's explanation as I'm fairly sure he knows what he is talking about!!!

Too bad about all the pootsnorkel CM's you encountered. Perhaps you could have given them a magical swift kick to the rear...y'know...to pay forward the kindness and all!!!

Loved the Video!!! And all the pictures!!

Yay on getting some love from Donald!! Isn't he just a fabulous kisser?!puckerup:

I'd better get on over to TJ's version or she will be mad at me! ;)

good stuff girl!!!:goodvibes

I just started reading your trippie! I like to read them backwards, it's a habit, don't know why . . .

Anyway - I have to laugh at the light-coloured pants on Splash Mtn! That is totally something I wouldn't do! See I have a phobia of light coloured pants, I NEVER wear them - but I have been rained on in a white shirt about a million times. Nothing like sharing "the girls" with the general public :rotfl2:

Loving the trip report - now I've got to read Teresa's version (backwards of course)

Love it!

Stephanie

Thanks for letting me know you're reading!! It's so nice to know who's out there! Drizella yelling Sawyer's name is one of my favorite memories, too. :cloud9:
Yeah, he is pretty darn cute, isn't he?

Yes, Henry knows all, so I would take his word on the monorail stink as gospel!

You're a crazy, backwards TR readin', white shirt wearin' gal, aren'tcha? Yes, I don't wear white shirts for that very reason. That, and I tend to miss my mouth while eating...

Another day with no notes. I don't know what I was thinking. But, thanks to the snapping of 6 or so cameras, I think I will cobble together some memories of the day.

David and Barbara wanted to go to one of the parks, so mom and dad dropped them off at a park in the morning. But, we had grand plans, Diser meetin' plans!!!! We were going to meet Stephres for lunch at Whispering Canyon Cafe and then hang out with her for the rest of the day. We were also going to go to the Campfire Singalong that night to hopefully meet some more Disers. That was the plan, anyway...

Henry and I didn't have a clue where Wilderness Lodge was and we have a real penchant for getting lost (we don't consider it a real vacation unless we get lost at LEAST once). So, we were about to miss the exit we needed when Mom called on the cell phone and saved the day. She said to turn at the Magic Kingdom entrance and go past the parking toll booths (after explaining to the exhorbitantly high toll takers what we were doing). I never would have figured this out on my own, so I'm SOO glad she called!

We parked and walked in. I was VERY impressed. It is such a cool looking hotel. Look, here's proof

IMG_1307_320x480.jpg

The family was already there, but no Steph yet. So we sat around for a bit waiting...and taking pictures, of course!

Is Teresa sending a message to Carol Burnette?

IMG_1314_640x426.jpg

Hey, I'll take a picture of you and you take a picture of me! We are so stinkin' clever!

IMG_1316_640x426.jpg

Must have been Dad taking the picture of Corey!

S6300302_640x480.jpg

You can't see it real well, but Teresa made Arminda a cute "cowhide" skirt just for this occasion.

IMG_1319_640x426.jpg

We were just standing around, when suddenly.... I SPOTTED THEM!!! The area they were walking in was kind of dark, but I recognized Stephanie, Megan, and Jacob by silhouette only. I am THAT good! We had never so much as talked to Steph on the phone, but we knew from e-mails and posts on the disboutiquers board that she was hilarious and we knew we'd like her! Plus, she was the only one of the disboutiquers that said she's definitely meet us this day!

We made the introductions.

IMG_1322_640x426.jpg

The kids got to know one another pretty quickly.

IMG_1320_640x426.jpg

Steph had made Megan that really cute outfit to wear to the campfire singalong! I made Tessa's shirt, also. It was reversible and the other side matches shirts that Steph made for herself and Megan. If they were wearing those shirts, I was planning on reversing Tessa's so they'd all match. A fellow disboutiquer made Lydia's Little Mermaid outfit in exchange for Teresa making her daughter a Giselle "curtain" dress.

But, Jacob was a little shy at first.

IMG_1323_640x426.jpg

We yakked for a bit.

IMG_1328_640x426.jpg

Then, we posed for way too many pictures. Henry was taking them and it was impossible to tell when he actually took the picture because there was no flash and he didn't say anything.

DSC08470_1024x768.jpg

DSC08465_1024x768.jpg

You can see from my hand gesture that I'm saying "Are you taking pictures or what?"

DSC08471_1024x768.jpg

It was after viewing this series of pictures that I vowed never to wear that shirt again. I look like I'm pregnant- not cute pregnant, either! Poor Steph probably spent the day wondering if she should ask me when I was due!

Soon it was time to get some vittles.

IMG_1313_640x426.jpg

There was a cute table where the kids could play with Lincoln Logs while we waited.

S6300311_640x480.jpg

Then, the kids raced around the restaurant on stick horses.

DSC08477_640x480.jpg

We were seated and the EXTREMELY weird waiter came to take my order. Man, he was creepy. I never really figured out if that was part of the act or not. He would have fit in really well at the Tower of Terror, if yah know what I mean!

IMG_1333_640x426.jpg

The waitress for Mom and Dad's table was very funny! She kept picking on poor Arminda. There was a cute little boy at another table and she kept trying to set Arminda and the boy up. She did it VERY LOUDLY- from across the restaurant! Arminda was ready to crawl under the table. The boy didn't seem to mind too much. ;) Besides, I think Arminda already had eyes for another boy...

Corey, knowing the tricks of this restaurant, asked for a refill.

S6300315_360x480.jpg

If you think that thing looks HUGE, imagine it even bigger and that's how big it was! I think it was about a gallon and a half of pop!

I ordered a BBQ sandwich and it was kind of gross. It looked like it had been sitting on the bun waiting for a while because the bun was SOGGY! I wasn't going to say anything. I just ate the meat off the bun with a fork. But, Teresa had to go and complain to the creepy waiter about it.

From then on, he referred to me as "Soggy buns" VERY LOUDLY! "We've got soggy buns over here!" "This lady has some soggy buns!" Henry didn't help too much as he chimed in with "Yeah, they weren't like that when I married her!" and other such niceties. Yes, we were making quite a first impression on Stephanie! I was ready to joing Arminda under the table!

Throughout the dinner Sawyer was acting like a total maniac. He was very unhappy with the whole "sit down and eat" situation. He just wanted to get down and run around. He was driving me a bit crazy and I'm sure I'm not the only one!

When Henry was done eating, he took Sawyer out for a while so we could talk to Stephanie about what we were going to do for the rest of the day. Here's his butt on the stairs with Sawyer.

IMG_1334_640x426.jpg

Steph suggested going to Magic Kingdom for a while. We hadn't planned on going to a park that day, but we all thought it sounded like a great idea! We had 10 day park hoppers and we knew we wouldn't be using them all anyway (they only cost $20 more than a 3 day park hopper!).

Henry kept bringing up how lucky Stephanie's husband was because he didn't "have to come". What-EVER! He was working. I'm sure he would have LOVED to meet us otherwise. :thumbsup2 But, I decided I'd let Henry off the hook since I had promised him he didn't have to go to Disney today. I told him if he took Sawyer, I wouldn't mind if they went back to the house without me. I didn't have to ask him twice...

We took a long time getting the car seats out of our van and putting them into Teresa's van. Then, we went out to catch a bus to MK. On the way, we saw this headdress covered in "blood". Tessa was upset about that and kept asking what had happened. Was someone hurt?

IMG_1339_320x480.jpg

Look at this cool post!

IMG_1343_320x480.jpg

Dad and Jacob sat down to wait for the bus.

S6300318_640x480.jpg

We waited,

S6300322_640x480.jpg

And we waited, and we waited...

While we were waiting, we decided that we weren't going to try and go to the Campfire Singalong later on that night. No one had said they were going to be there and none of us really wanted to go if we wouldn't be meeting other Disers. Mom and Dad told David and Barbara that they would meet them at Fort Wilderness that night. David and Barbara didn't have a car, so they were relying on Mom and Dad for transportation. Mom gave them her cell phone so they could keep in touch. But, when mom tried calling them to tell them about the change in plans, they didn't answer. We all stood around trying to figure out why they didn't answer the phone.

Tessa, Lydia, and Megan all really seemed to like each other. They decided that since we weren't going to the camfire singalong, they would make their own "campfire".

DSC08484_640x480.jpg

They kept running off to get more "firewood"

S6300319_640x480.jpg

I would like to explain that I did NOT plan on putting Tessa's shirt with those shorts. But, Henry thought the pants I had layed out for her to wear were dirty, so he stuck them in the washing machine. So, this is all she had, and it looks like she's not wearing pants. I would have put something else on her if I would have known we were going to the parks.

S6300326_640x480.jpg

Where did Lydia go?

DSC08481_640x480.jpg

Oh yeah, she's with her daddy...sweeping...

S6300324_360x480.jpg

Where Brian found a broom and why he was using it...I will never know. :confused3

After 3 buses came by for Typhoon Lagoon, 2 buses for Animal Kingdom, and a bus each for Epcot and MGM, along came a bus for Magic Kingdom. This is when I decided that I REALLY like the bus system at POP! I don't know how long we waited there for sure, but it was a LOONG time!

There was some discussion about who got to sit next to Megan and Lydia ended up sitting next to her. Tessa sat by me and I recall some whining, but since I didn't take notes, I don't remember what it was about.

When we got to the park, Megan was pretty intrigued by my sit 'n stand stroller. So, she wanted to sit in it. I told her to go right ahead. She seemed pretty pleased that she got to sit in a stroller! To think, her cruel mother actually makes her WALK!

Megan mentioned that she wanted to ride Pooh. So, my mom made sure that's where we headed first. Mom is so sweet like that! She always wants to make kids happy. The line was long, so we headed over to Buzz Lightyear.

DSCF3077_640x480.jpg

Everyone paired up and I ended up riding with Steph. Let me just say, I got all nervous riding with someone that wasn't in my family. Does she know how to do this really well? Will she get upset if I don't turn the little car the right way? Am I going to mess up everything? Is she going to hate me? Yeah, I know, I'm a little neurotic. So, I started out steering the little car. But, then I let my anxiety overtake me and told Steph she should steer. She took charge and was quite the expert!

Corey and Jacob were behind us and we kept facing them and shooting at them.

DSC08487_640x480.jpg

Sorry Jacob!

DSC08489_640x480.jpg

Tessa was lovin' it! She looked like she was having none of the social anxiety that I was experiencing.

DSC08490_640x480.jpg

Look at Steph and I having a roarin' good time!

IMG_1347_640x426.jpg

Teresa and Brian seem to be taking this very seriously.

IMG_1349_640x426.jpg

The kids stopped for the obligatory "caged with the Evil Emperor Zurg" pictures, but I can't find them!

We all decided to go to the Carousel of Progress. I hadn't seen this attraction (I hesitate to call it a ride) since I was a kid. I just loved the dog and the song "Now is the time, now is the best time, now is the best time of our lives." Yes, I remembered it after all those years.

Imagine my horror when I discovered that they had CHANGED THE SONG!!

The attraction just didn't do it for me after that. The final scene has got to be my favorite. Oooh!! It's the future! They're wearing virtual reality headgear, circa 1995 or so. Wow, look at that projection tv- very Future!! Wow, check out the amazing graphics on that video game! How hilarious that grandma is playing a video game... How about that daughter's getup. Stirrup pants with socks over them, big baggy sweater. So, they don't change the clothes on the animatronic people, but they change the SONG?! Do I seem bitter? Perhaps...they CHANGED THE SONG!!!

Stephanie made a very funny comment during the final scene and I don't remember what it was now! Hey, I just now realized that the final scene probably isn't supposed to be the future. I bet it's supposed to be 2000 or so, since they say we have a whole new century in front of us. Any insight on this from anyone?

We got fastpasses for Pooh and I believe it gave us fastpasses for Phillaharmagic again. We saw the show and then went over to It's a Small World. There was some discussion about who got to sit next to Megan. Megan handled it very nicely and said she would sit in the middle of Lydia and Tessa.

DSC08493_640x480.jpg

Arminda was happy to sit next to Jacob.

DSC08494_640x480.jpg

After IASW, we redeemed our Pooh FP. Tessa decided she wanted to sit by Jacob this time.

DSC08495_640x480.jpg

DSC08497_640x480.jpg

I don't know how this happened, but I got to sit by Megan this time!

DSC08498_640x480.jpg

You'd think she would have been a little weirded out sitting between me and Corey, but it didn't seem to phase her. They all fit in with our family so nicely, it was like we had known each other forever!

Look! Here's my very short video of Mr. Toad handing the deed to Owl!

When we got off the ride, mom was concerned because they still couldn't reach David on the cell phones. So, they left to meet them at Fort Wilderness.

Steph wanted to stop and get something to eat. This sounded like a great idea to me since it'd been a while since lunch. We went to "The Poor Man's Garden Grill", as Corey calls it. It's the Pinocchio restaurant, but I can't remember the name. I had never been in there before and I always thought it was a fancy restaurant. I never realized it was counter service! D'oh!

I was SOOOO exhausted (did I mention that I pushed 3 little girls, about 130lbs of 'em, in the sit 'n stand most of the day?) and I think everyone else was feeling pretty tired, too. So after we ate, we decided it was time to head on out.

We actually had fun waiting for the bus to come this time. Teresa told Jacob all about the UP. He seemed to think it was rather funny that we called the Upper Peninsula that. Jacob and Arminda did a little bit of flirting. Does anyone else notice that Arminda is looking at Jacob in every picture of them together?

DSC08505_640x480.jpg

Who can blame her, he's an awful cute kid!

DSC08504_640x480.jpg

The girls all decided to do "The Megan". This is a disboutique pose where you sit on the floor with your hands in your lap, your dress/skirt spread out around you. Tessa was pretty excited to do "The Megan" with Megan herself!

DSC08501_640x480.jpg

One last picture before the bus pulled up.

DSC08499_640x480.jpg

Once on the bus, a commotion began. Tessa was going to sit next to Megan, but Lydia wanted to sit next to Megan again. Eventually, with lots of whining, it was worked out. I didn't find out until later that Tessa let Lydia sit by Megan and she would sit by Megan the next day. Little did she know that we wouldn't be seeing Megan the next day! :headache:

While on the bus, Mom called and said that David wasn't at Fort Wilderness and they were leaving to get on a bus. I told mom she should wait because David thought we were staying for the singalong and he probably wasn't planning on being there until that was over. But, she said they were getting on the bus anyway.

We went back into Wilderness Lodge and the kids were getting a tad bit hyper. They were running around like crazy and we were all too tired to chase them.

S6300334_640x480.jpg

Brian took Lydia off and we waited for him to come back so she could say goodbye to Megan. More craziness while we waited.

S6300333_640x480.jpg

He came back shortly. Hugs all around and we bid each other goodbye. Teresa told Stephanie she'd see her next year. I was sad because I didn't know when I'd see her again. :(

It took me a LONG time to hook carseats up in a hot van. It was hard to see what I was doing with sweat in my eyes- EW, I know! But, I finally got it done and Teresa let me sit up front.

When we got back to the house, Mom and Dad called and said they couldn't find David anywhere. They were at the Contemporary, hoping to see him on the monorail. :confused3: I still don't understand this train of thought. I told them that maybe David would take a taxi back to the house (which would have been very expensive since it was about 1/2 hour away). But, they said that David didn't even know the name of the street we were staying on.

We finally went to bed around 11:00 and mom and dad still hadn't found David. The last time I talked to Dad he said "He's lost forever." He was totally and completely serious. I sometimes think my parents forget that David is their OLDEST child and that he is 42 years old!!

Up Next: The Prodigal Son Returns

What fantastic installments!! It is so fun to get to meet DISer's isn't it?? It was so cute how the girls got along, but my favorite part was the look on Arminda's face in all the pictures with Jacob. That smile was definately dreamy.

Your poor parents trying to find David :sad2:, that must have had them very stressed out. I wonder why they didn't answer the cell phone?? I can't wait to see how long it took David not to be a lost boy anymorepopcorn::.

Another great installment...we got lost going to Grand Floridian when we were there.

How fun that you got to meet Stephres, Jacob and Megan, and it's great that all the kids get along so well. I just love all the pictures of Arminda and Jacob....she just can't take her eyes off him...how cute!

Whispering Canyon Cafe looks like a fun place to eat...we have never been there, or step foot into Fort Wilderness. It is so beautiful!

Can't wait to find out what happen to David.....and find out why he wasn't answering his cell phone.

Wow what a fun day! The kids all look like they had a blast with their new friends. The "megan" pose is GREAT!

I am learning from your report that I need more pictures of just hanging out and on rides. I think that I have zero pictures like that.

How fun a dis meet! the kids looked so cute together! LOVE IT! all of their outfits were simply perfect!

Aw...thank you!! I was feeling pretty dissapointed that I didn't get to put a nicer outfit on Tessa that day.

ugh, a cliffhanger!
I've got a hint for you, David was not "lost forever".

Those are some of my favorite pictures. Especially pictures where people don't know they're getting their picture taken, and they're just enjoying one another!

It was really cool how we all just meshed!

Whispering Canyon Cafe would have been a lot more fun without a fussy toddler, or a creepy waiter!

I'll give you another hint- the reason he wasn't answering wasn't because he didn't know how to use the phone. That was my suspicion, but I was wrong!

I LOVED meeting other Disers! Oh yes, Jacob might as well have been Zach Efron himself! I didn't get many pictures of it, but Jacob gave Arminda quite a few dreamy looks, too. I hate to embarass them (yeah, right), but they both opened Dis accounts, just so they could pm each other.
