He suspended his campaign. he put a halt on all things having to do with the campaign so he can go and focus on the ordeal at hand.

Why is that so hard to understand?

Because it's bull poo and you know it. The entire campaign has to 'suspend' because he's going to talk with Bush and Obama today? Be serious. Has McCain forgotten about telephones, Blackberries and that crazy new thing - air travel??

Thanks for your kind wishes, but you are avoiding the issue. McCain's campaign people don't look like their candidate is suspending the campaign because of a national crisis. They look like it's any other day. No somber faces...only smiles. Why aren't they looking more serious? Because McCain's suspension of the campaign is not serious. It's a ploy, a con. We've been lied to. We've been had. We've been hoodwinked. Bamboozled. We've had the wool pulled over our eyes.

Anyway, that's a separate issue. The issue of this thread is: why doesn't McCain allow Palin to take over campaigning?

You have deduced, through great mental powers, what their mental state and position is by the one picture. The picture, taken at 1/60th of a second, is all that you need to assign their complete and unabridged mental state and position on the financial crisis.

So, you don't think McCain should have Palin out on the trail because he's off saving the free world's economy (heck, make the entire world's economy) in Washington? Wait a minute, is he actually IN Washington now?? What does putting on his Superman suit have to do with her? Because she's his 'soul mate' and they cannot be parted?

I think a more credible comparison to what Steve said would be "If Senator Obama halted his campaign (ha, never happen - he can multi-task) shouldn't he ask Senator Biden to continue to campaign?" Senator Biden could fly into Washington in time to vote himself. Now that 'follows'!

Isn't Sarah Palin campaigning already? I think she was at the UN earlier this week doing the sort of thing she should be doing. Didn't she just do an interview with Katey Couric? I think she is campaigning just fine and hope she continues to go direct to the people and minimize her time with the media, or as I like to call them, "The Front Line of the Obama Campaign". hehehe

She has governing experience, she should be answering the questions on the economy. but instead:

But wasn't the campaign suspended? The camp's Paul Lindsay just put out another memo to the press:

"Governor Palin will have no scheduled campaign events in the Philadelphia area until the economic crisis is solved. She will remain in contact with John McCain as he works with Sen. Obama and members of both parties to achieve consensus on legislation to stabilize our financial markets."

Other than talking to McCain on her cell, it's not clear exactly what Palin will be doing: the campaign is trying to postpone her one and only debate on Thursday, and she's not supposed to be fundraising either.

I guess you know all and see all huh? Does he have to get approval from you or anyone else to put his campaign on hold so he can return to washington to take care of the crisis?

He needs to be in DC to work with others. It is different being face to face. What is so bad about actually doing his job as a senator? I know that might be hard for Obama to do since he has not accomplished anything.
