Just wondered .... after the hard work it takes to actually get a reservation at CRT, is the breakfast all that you thought it would be? Or do you leave feeling slightly disappointed? Should I try for it for DD4 (loves princesses, but not Cindy so much), or book Akershus? princess:

I think it is good to experience this for the atmosphere--after all, one is in the Castle ;)--and the character interaction, but my family finds the food at the breakfast quite mediocre. If your daughter likes the princesses, I'm sure she will enjoy this.

..but I love the experience (I am without small children in tow unless you count DH :rotfl2: ) and I think the food is pretty good too! Love those cheesy things (I have mine without the blueberry compote on top), think the fresh fruit and OJ is REALLY tasty and like the bread selections (My name is Nadine and I am a carboholic) We go on every trip!

between the Castle and Akershus except for the venue. If your daughter is not Cinderella passionate, save the aggravation and book Norway.

We have eaten at the castle 3 times. I swore I was not going to go through the hassle this trip, but the look in my 6 Y.O DD eyes, when I told her we should try something different this time. Well lets just say that we will be eating at the castle on April 24th. We will also be doing Akershus for dinner on April 28th. We asked each kid to pick 2 rest. and both picked 2 character meals. DH isn't any beter,--he picked 1 too. Good thing we are one the my way dining plan.

The food can be hit or miss. The eggs are the same no matter what breakfast, unless you go to one with an omlet bar. Last trip, the cheese french toast was a little cold, and greasy. But I just ordered it with the topping on the side, and it came out so steaming fresh, and good, that we will always order it that way now. MMMMMMM.

I think it's something everyone who loves MK or has children who are princess fans should try at least once. It's more of a symbolic thing for me than it is about the food, really (but that stuffed french toast stuff is awesome!). Starting out the day a day in the MK with breakfast in the castle is a great experience.

I am excited to hear about the princess lunches that will be starting in June. As much as I love breakfast there, DH and DD are bigger lunch eaters so I think they would like that better.

For me, yes, it is worth it. Securing the ressie is part of "the thrill of the hunt!" :sunny:

We've done the princess breakfast twice now at Cinderella Castle. No more. While my dd, now 11, likes the princesses, she really doesn't about doing it again. So, we book other character meals now. I have never been thrilled with the food at CRT anyway. I think we did it in '01 and again in '03.

Both CRT and PSB were a let down for us. The princesses at both were very rushed and came by long enough for one picture. We've been to most character meals, and these 2 were by far the worst in terms of character interaction. And for $36 plus tip for DD4 and I to have breakfast, it was not money well spent. For a princess meal, we've had much better luck at 1900 Park Fare and the Princess Tea Party. I won't try for a PS at CRT or PSB again.

Once was enough for us. The castle and the characters were great, but for the money we paid for this meal, the food was subpar. Now if I had two daughters instead of two sons, maybe the characters would be worth the price, but for us it just wasn't. That being said if they had a similar meal with the Toy Story gang, we would pay the price again in a heartbeat. So I guess it depends on why you are eating at CRT, for the food - no, it's not worth it, for the castle and characters - yes, it is!

I totally agree! Once was enough for us as well. The princesses were disinterested and rushed. That being said, the fairy godmother was a delight.

ABSOLUTELY!!

That being said, I do think everyone has a different experience.
When we arrived our PS was for 8:10am...no one was around...we got to visit with the fair godmother by ourselves...we went upstairs and it was wonderful - the food was great and Cinderella took a TON of time with DD...it is now a must do for every trip!

DEFINATELY!! We will be having Breakfast there for the 3rd time this May - MY DD LOVES it and I love it as much as her - We love eating in the castle princess:

The food didn't quite meet my expectations but it was okay. The atmosphere and everything else surpassed my expectations and more than made up for the food! :)

IMO the "magic" is more important than the food. We went for my DD's 7th birthday. The table was decorated for her birthday, the princesses all signed a birthday card, and everyone made a fuss over her. The look on DD's face made it worth whatever it cost or however early I had to be on the phone to get the PS.

I was very unimpressed with CRT and would never go through all that again.

I have done breakfast and dinner and thought both were great. Would I do them again, Yes!

Hoping to get a breakfast in October with Grand-Daughters.

I was lucky enough to get a PS for breakfast at CRT on our honeymoon. I enjoyed it so much. The location, the food, the characters. I had so much fun, and can't wait to do it in the future. I probably won't do it again as an adult couple, but I will take my cousins, and my future children, definitely.

I am really looking forward to it. I have never done it before and will be doing it for the first time Aprile 24th for Breakfast!
ADP :goodvibes

We did the Princess Storybook Breakfast in Epcot last time (Nov '03) so this time we wanted to do CRT. We were unimpressed with the food at PSB. The food seemed like it had sat a while. We were also squished in a bit. We did enjoy the characters and would do it if we had a princess lover in the group. This year (Feb '05) did CRT. I was suprised, we thought the food was good! Now I wouldn't call it a gourmet breakfast but was warm, fresh and tasty. My Dh had the healthy choice and thought it was wonderful. Our seating was comfortable and the characters were fine. My DD3 was recovering from the flu so wasn't as interactive as I hoped. Maybe our expectations had something to do with it. We weren't expecting much given our PSB experience.

There is NOTHING like being in the castle for a meal! You are literally right in the middle of the magic. I have been for character and non-character seatings and have loved both. The food for breakfast was good and lunch as well. But for me...well its just being in the Castle more than the food! :)
