does anyone know if II points are decreased now?

we just purchased SSR to close june and immed. added on bwv for use now. Our guide said II recently decreased the points to half because people using II are promised to be able to trade into disney, but availability is not there. Does anyone know anything about this?

By "recently decreased," I think the guide was referring to the World Passport Collection I.I. chart that was published a couple of years ago. That's fairly recent in the history of DVC.

Before the chart was published, the number of points needed for an exchange was unpredictable. It was based on the MS booking and depositing a "comparable week." The chart makes the number of points needed for an exchange more predictable, although low, medium, and high season remain a bit of a mystery.

Overall, the chart seems the represent a decrease in the number of points needed compared to the old system -- but if the guide said that "II recently decreased the points to half," I believe the guide exaggerated.

I'd agree with Horace except that overall the prices increased. Studios and 3 BR units went up a lot Sounds like another sales lie to me.

To be clear.

• Studios went from 55 low season/98 High season to 106/134.
• 1 Br went from 104/196 to 124/160.
• 2 BR went from 133/296 to 207/270.

Plus a mid season got added when there really wasn't one consistently before. If you assume most trades are High Season 1 and 2 BR units, then many did go down. But the increase in studio, mid and low season exchanges was pretty dramatic. Personally I think the old system was much better as long as one took the time to understand the system.

Well...I talked to my guide, and he said that was not the case...that the II points have stayed the same. He was not sure what the other guide could've meant.

LOL, not even honor among thieves. I'm sure the guide in question was talking about the change that happened about Jan-Feb of 2003 and discussed above.
