Do you think I will make my FP+ time

We're staying at the Pop Century from Mar 14-17, we're going to a Jays @ Braves game on the 15th, and our big park day is the 16th.

Plan for the 16:
Rope drop at AK @ 9:00 AM
Expedition Everest
Kilimanjaro Safaris

High tail it MK
FP+
9:05 AM - 10:05 AM Voyage of the Little Mermaid
10:15 - 11:15 Seven Dwarfs Mine Train

Then head over to Epcot and drink around the world.

Do you think I will be able to make my 9:05 - 10:05 AM FP+ on Voyage of the Little Mermaid?

Should I do Kilimanjaro first or Everest? Will it likely not make a difference.

I know AK and MK aren't that close, but I would just take the first available bus that gets me to either the Contemporary, Grand Floridian or MK.

I would have preferred a 9:30-10:30 time but it was not available.

Thanks in advance,
Mike

Not even close, sorry. I highly doubt you'd make it to 7DMT either.

Agree- no way
KS takes awhile and is located so far from ExE. I think you can be done with both by 10 but then to catch a bus to MK..... I wouldn't risk it.

Ditto to what Mesa said. If you were doing something OTHER than the Safari, MAYBE (and that's a big maybe). But the safari is already long, and if there are any hold ups (animals blocking the truck, for instance) it'll take even longer.

There's zero chance of making the Mermaid fast pass. There's an ever so slight chance of making 7DMT but your odds would improve if you took a taxi from AK to the Contemporary.

I'm not sure which ride you should go on first but would lean towards the Safari since it's slower going. Expedition Everest loads pretty quickly so it would take a little longer for the line to build up.

I just checked the wait times out of curiosity and there's 20 for the safari & 10 for EE. Maybe keep an eye on that to see if there's a trend but I don't know how much difference it would make.

No way you are going to make it to MK by 10:05. I agree that you are pushing it on 7DMT also. If a critter steps onto the path on the safari, you won't make that one either.

Nope, even the mine train is sketchy. I would be worried about missing that FP+. Little mermaid is a total no go. The safari on its own is 20 minutes and at least 10 minutes to get to it and walk all the way back to the trucks. Then minimum 10 minutes to walk from the truck to everest. 5-10 minutes to walk to the load area there. That rides is only 5 minutes, but it is very far from the front gate, so at best 10 minutes to walk out of the park (and I think with crowds 10 minutes is not nearly enough time to leave). Then you wait for a bus. The ride to MK or any of its resorts is 10 miles so with traffic that can take some time. If you get to a resort, you have to get on the monorail or walk the 1 mile from contemporary. Then go through bag check and the front gates of MK and then push your way through the crowds to the back of the park. At best, you won't get to MK till 10:30 and that is really optimistic in my opinion.

You'll be out of AK by 10am, and you won't make 10:05 Mermaid. I think you'd make Mine Train if all goes well. If......

Like others have said, no, you probably won't make it through the two rides at AK before it's 10am....let alone the bus ride from AK to MK.

Throw in the fact that you're going during Spring Break, and yeah, you won't get out of AK until noon, lol.

The one good note....I wouldn't worry about a FP for Little Mermaid....even during holiday season the wait time never got over 30 minutes, lol. 7DMT, however, on a good quiet crowd day is an hour wait....spring break, well, bring lunch.

Another good note.....the alcohol at EPCOT goes until closing which is usually 9pm (might be later for Spring Break), so you can still make that endeavor work.

My suggestion would be to haunt the FP selection for a lucky chance to win a mid-afternoon 7DMT FP, and if you really want a FP for Little Mermaid you will have no problem getting that, even same day.

Keep your morning AK plans and head over to Safari first.....then do single rider line for Everest. Bus over to MK (if no luck on the FP for 7DMT, bring a snack for the line, lol), and then head over to EPCOT for an evening of drinking yourself under the Lagoon.

And if you're a troll (only 10 posts and one of those oft asked rather silly questions), then be gone before a house falls on you.....oh wait, wrong story............:wizard:

I wouldn't do that. What others haven't mentioned, is those two rides are at the back of the AK, and your first ride in the MK is at the back of that park. I'd think more like... rope drop EE, be done by 9:20. Walk to KS, 9:30. Wait 1/2 hour, 10 min ride, 10:10. Walk to front of AK, 10:20. Bus can be 20 min, est 15. 10:35. 20-min ride to Contemporary, 10:55. 15-min walk to MK, 11:10 (about the same if you bus to TTC and boat to MK). Walk back to Mermaid which is in the far back corner, 11:20.

You would be lucky to have had not the slightest of hiccup and make the SDMT FP. You will probably make it, especially given the leeway they give you... but definitely move the Mermaid one to after.

The stress in wondering if the busses would be timely would kill this being an enjoyable day for me. Worrying about making a ride like SDMT. You only have this one day? I would just chill and do the MK then. Not attempt rope-dropping another park intending to make a 10-11 FP to SDMT.

KS vs EE first is a wash.

Have you considered just rope-dropping SDMT? Do that, then ride the Mermaid with basically no wait. Spend the morning in the MK, ride a few other things that are shorter wait. Then have FPs ready for KS and EE - for like 2-3 and 3-4. Then head over to EC by evening.

If you have a car and run where I say walk, it would be a bit more tolerable as you remove some of the volatility of the busses.

Optimal results: rope drop EE, be done by 9:15. Run to KS, 9:20. Wait 1/2 hour, 10 min ride, 10:00. Run to front of AK, 10:05. Run to car, 10:10. Drive to TTC, 10:30. Boat to MK, 10:45. Run to Mermaid, 10:55.

Nope. Can't do it. Even running and driving shaves 20-30 min but you're still not arriving at the MK till 11'ish. No way to ride both headliners and get to another park all by 10am when the park opens at 9am.

Mermaid is such an easy FP+ to get, why not change it until after your Dwarves FP?

We just did AK at rope drop and then headed to DHS. We didn't do KS. We did EE and Dinosaur. It AK opened that day at 8:00 (not emh, just a crowded day at WDW.)

Arrive at AK 7:42 am
Arrive at EE 8:05 am
Arrive at Dinosaur 8:17 am (much closer to EE than KS)
On bus to DHS at 8:44 am
Arrive at ToT 9:07 am

Everything went well for us this day. The bus was there the moment we walked up to the bus stop. AND Dinosaur is a MUCH faster and closer to the front ride than KS. And DHS is a much easier park to get into than MK.

So as you can see even if your day went 100% perfectly it would be completely impossible to do EE and KS and ride the bus to MK and get into MK and walk to Mermaid in an hour.

But you more than likely could make that 7D as long as a giraffe doesn't block your way on KS.

We did rope drop at AK and rode Expedition Everest 4 times before 9:40, immediately left the park headed to Downtown Disney for an 11:30 lunch reservation and didn't make it there until about 10 minutes after our reservation! And this was during a relatively low crowd time. I agree with everyone else that you need to make a change to your plans!

MK and AK are approximately 8 miles apart by roadway and with traffic/signal lights it takes about 20 minutes once you are actually on the bus and moving.
Safari is about a 20 minute ride.
Not possible. No way on Little Mermaid. You are pushing it to make it to 7DMT- might happen/might not. If it happens you will hit the tail end of that one.

I agree the OP's plan is unlikely to succeed. But isn't there now a bus from AK directly to MK? Would be a slightly shorter walk than from CR - although still not likely a short enough trip to make the SDMT FP. To have any possible chance, taxi from AK to CR would be quickest but even then not likely successful.

Yes. Won't help the OP makes those times though.

You're not going to need a FP+ for Mermaid, especially not that early, so there's that.

Thanks for the input, I really didn't take walking time between attractions into consideration.

My wife is a huge little mermaid fan, hence the FP+ on Journey. I was able to change my FP+ around a little.

Journey 9:30-10:30
7DMT 10:30-11:30
SM 11:30-12:30

On easywdw I read that rope drop happens around 15 minutes prior to the park opening. If I'm there for 8:30, and ready to head toward KS at 8:50 would that increase my odds?

If I work backwards from
10:25 - ride Journey
10:15-10:25 walk from the front of the park to Little Mermaid
9:35-10:15 transportation from AK - MK (assume 40 min)
9:25 - 9:35 walk from EE to front of the park
9:20 - 9:25 EE
9:10 - 9:20 walk to EE (only if there is no wait)
8:50 - 9:10 KS
8:45 - 8:50 walk to KS

If we can be off KS by 9:10 and there is no wait at EE, we might chance it, I think getting off KS any later than 9:15 or any wait at EE means we skip it and head to MK.
