Do You Think Disney Ejected This Patron??

I don't know their policy on something like this. Did her actions put her or others in danger? Doesn't sound like it. Probably not enough to remove her from the park. However, if I was (Disney) king for a day, she'd be out in the parking lot real quick! Makes me furious when people don't go all the way down the row. It's selfish!

Not that I think this woman was correct in any way, not for nothing but I don't think there is a bad seat in Soarin, I think all the seats are great..... However.... I personally have a problem with having to move down at the shows like It's a Bugs life, Philamagic or Muppets... I feel like it doesn't pay to get there early and wait in line because the second you get in they ask you to move all the way down so you are on the end! And the people who have arrived much after you get to be seated nice in the middle with a perfect view... So for that, I don't think it is selfish... Mind you, I always move all the way down in the shows... But it does aggravate me....

I love the "klutz" approach. Luckily, I happen to have big feet and pointy elbows, and make sure the people I'm climbing over know it. :)

I think in the OP's situation I might have refused to sit down until the lady either moved on her own or with "assistance". That way the ride couldn't start and she would have to suffer like the rest of the audience.

I think it would be ridiculous if she was ejected from the parks for that. Yeah the whole thing seems a little bizarre and definitely annoying, but who knows what was really going on with this woman.

By the way, what does FWIW mean? I couldn't figure that one out!

I did see Disney Security get involved with a situation. DH and I were on the HM during EMH and there was a group of teenagers in front of us. They screamed throughout the entire ride. At everything. They were horsing around in the doom buggies even after the CMs told them to stop and probably were being a hazard to themselves and an annoyance to the rest of us.

Well, wouldn't you know that right after we walked out of the ride there were 3 Disney Security guards waiting for them and pulled them all aside. DH and I were DYING to stay and watch, but we could find no way to camoflauge our nosiness with actually doing anything, so we left. ;)

I dont know how the CMs manage to remain calm and friendly with people like these. I'm the kind of person whose day would be ruined if I had to deal with that woman. Rude people irritate me... especially ones who dont respect the "rules" or think they're above them.

I have been told in the past, that if a CM tells you to "Have a Disney Day!" you must have done something to tick them off. The sweeter they say it,the more ticked off they are. Of course I wouldn't say this is an "offical code" dictated by Disney management.

why get so upset over such a little thing?

There are so many more problems in this world to get upset about...:confused3

I guess I'm not as laid back and accepting....this kind of thing angers me. Why do some people think the signs and announcements apply to everyone but them? And why do they feel it's okay to hold everyone else up in order to get their way? It's ridiculous! I used to not say anything and fume in silence, but not anymore. If someone's self absorbed actions are interfering with me I'm going to tell them what I think of them. If I'm miserable they're going to be miserable too.

I don't know if I ahave ever been to Disney where someone has not pulled the "refuse to go into the end of line" trick. Worse was a Little Mermaid one year. A mother and four kids pushed past everyone to get in front of the doors that lead you into the theatre. People were shouting and complaining, the mom pretended not to hear. Hey even if you don't understand the English language, everyone understands angry voice tones. Anyway, once in she rushed her children to front row center, and refused to move. CM's tried, other people quite vocal. I think what was most dissapointing is that noone actually DID anything. The lady got her way. I am sure she did this the entire trip. Sometimes I wonder if it's the rest of us who follow the herd and follow the rules, that are stupid. Granted it did not ruin the show for my family, but we did watch to see what direction this woman went , and we went the opposite way.

It's annoying, but it doesn't help to get your blood pressure up about it. People like that are going to remain people like that no matter what we do, and they can't be leading very happy lives with that kind of attitude anyway. Going through a day at WDW annoying people and arguing with CMs isn't going to be very enjoyable. Geez, imagine what they're like in the real world.

I'd like to see people who go to that extreme get the boot, but I can understand why Disney doesn't always go that far.

Like goofy4tink though, when the opportunity arises I have been known to accidentally give somebody a flat tire, or an accidental nudge. You know, hard to avoid it with all those crowds...

Disney justice......Hmmmmm that is an interesting thought/topic.

I too thought of Small World but depending on the infraction. One could be put on a truck all by yourself on Dinosaur and forced to stay on continously through the ride at least for an hour.......Scary, intense ride overload and sorry (not) if the truck gets stuck in the area just when the meteor is about to hit. (Sorry being a bit evil here...LOL!)

Also, a forced behind the scenes look at Make a Wish program or Special guests just to let you know how lucky you had it to even have the ability to ride Soarin and be thankful you even got a seat (it did not matter which one you got).

I thank my lucky stars every day for my time at Disney, it is a beautiful and cherished privelege, not something I am owed.

PSS Sorry if rambling, wisdome teeth out today and some drugs wearing off and some kicking in. Have a Magical Day!

There is a very easy way to solve that problem. If you find yourself first to enter the preshow area, don't wait so close to the theatre doors. And :scared1: let others go ahead of you when they open those doors into the main seating area. It is very easy to walk a little slowly while others rush past to be "first." And believe me, they are hell-bent for leather to get those end-of-row seats. :rotfl: It's what I absolutely always do, especially in Country Bears Jamboree, when sitting in an almost full row gives DD a better view of Teddy Bara's face. (For some reason, she's enamored.)

The other bonus to this strategy is that by avoiding the initial stampede, you can easily gauge which row to enter for perfect mid-row seating!:thumbsup2

Hi fellow central mass'er!!! While I can understand where you're coming from (been there in fact) I have found that those seats off to the side are just about as good as the middle seats. Of course, if you really want to be in the middle, then you can sit in the seats next to those folks. If they don't move when asked, why should you??!!!
But like I said, I know what you mean about getting there early. I've seen it happen over and over....'Hey, I got here 30 mins ago and waited at the door all that time so I could get a center seat!!! I'm not moving for those latenicks!!!" Ah well....life is too short. Like I said...I can be a klutz.
Isn't the sun wonderful today here in beautiful Mass!!!!

In this case, I think "Disney justice" might be better served by forcing her to return to the beginning of the Soarin' standby line and whenever she reaches the boarding area she can strap herself in but has to leave without riding and be sent back to the beginning of the line again and again and again... until the park closes! :lmao:

Or maybe since she seemed to like that seat so much, the CMs could lock her into it and force her to ride until the park closes! :rotfl:

What would "Disney justice" be? Forced to experience "Sounds Dangerous" for the rest of the day? ;)

No. Tie the offender to a chair, put earphones on their head and play "It's a small world" for five hours! Trust me, they'll NEVER even think about annoying anyone for the rest of their lives! Or you could "clockwork orange" them by holding their eyes open and make them watch The Black Cauldron over and over for a day! BTW, I think TBC is one of the WORST animated features Disney ever came up with.

I have to admit, I've been known to plop down in the middle of the row, but only when I'm in the back (wheelchair) row with my mum because with that row there's still plenty of room behind the row to walk by and there are openings every couple seats so you can re-enter the row. The only time I'll do it in another row is if the theatre's nearly empty. Why have everyone sitting at one end if there's only 10 people or so in the show? (not directed at anyone, just a comment lol)

ETA: Just wanted to mention, I do sit wherever the CM tells me on "rides". It probably wouldn't even occur to me to decide I want a different seat and just move there. Screws up the seating arrangements for everyone else.

some people just feel the rules don't apply to them!

Let me refrace that- a lot of people just feel the rules don't apply to them. That is a bit more accurate. I saw all sorts of people "breaking the rules" on our last trip. Really sad. :sad2:

I just assume people like that have a problem such they cannot understand (perhaps of a disability nature) or are not quite right (drunk? overly medicated?). I just try to leave them alone, let the CM"s handle it, and be thankful they aren't exhibiting this bizarre behaviour behind the wheel of a car next to me!

Was she with anyone? I think she must have embarassed herself greatly and gotten some hostile looks. If that wasn't enough to deter future behaviour of that sort then something indeed is seriously wrong with her.
