Do You Think Disney Ejected This Patron??

The verdict of what should have been done by a security cast member-
Security should have been called when she refused to move. They shouldn't have run the ride at all. Once security arrived they would have told her that she needed to move at once or she would be removed from the park. Since that isn't what happened in this case this is what most likely did happen.

Once she got off the ride secuity would have been there. Usually a security manager too. They would have detained her and made sure it was clear that her behavior was unacceptable and give her a tresspassing warning. (Remember you have no legal right to the property). If she continued to be belligerent or rude to the cast members and security then she would have been removed from the park right then. Other wise they would give her a warning that if she did this again on any other attraction she would be removed at that time from the park. (If there was another call that day for a women matching her description doing a similiar thing then once security was called she would be escorted off property. Not just out of the park but off of Disney property.) They would take her ticket (even if it was an annual pass) and ban her for either the day or the year depending on how severe the offense.

So most likely she was removed because once they get belligernt they usually do not stop. Plus no one thinks they will really get kicked out of a Disney park.

Hopefully this information will ease your curroisty of what most likely happened.

Thanks for the info, bearette. I think a lot of riders there that day, myself included, would have gladly waited a little longer for the pleasure of seeing her dealt with by security before the decision was made to run the ride in spite of her defiance. A stern warning at a minimum was called for and it's good to hear that that probably happened, at the least. If something like this happens again, I'll linger a little bit to satisfy my curiosity.

I admit it, I'm QUITE vindictive. But I reserve it for people that are truly mean/ignorant/rude.;)

I hate the "no understand english"..when in line for characters, people who just throw themselves or their children in fron of the line and "act" like they don't know what a line is for.

True that. There are queues in every country, and in most others outside of the US, they are more organized and leave more personal space. I'll always remember the first time we were in Switzerland and people were standing about 3 feet away from the person at the ATM. Can you imagine the pushing and cutting that would ensue here if that kind of space was left "open"? :scared: People know what lines are and they can follow simple visual cues even if they don't speak a word of the language - true for everyone, not language specific. When I'm at DLP, even when the announcements are in French I can figure out what to do. I'm as vindictive as everyone else on the board - people with no common courtesy just really make me :headache: Why can't eveyone just behave in a civilized manner so that I don't have to be upset at Disney, my favorite calmest happiest place in the whole world to be? princess: Sigh, I know it won't happen, but it's good to know that most everyone else agrees with me on this one.

2) The second incident was over at Animal Kingdom, back in Camp Minnie Mickey. I was working with Donald Duck, and he was just wandering around the paths because he had no guests, and a teenager thought it would be funny if he ran and tackled Donald to the ground. So the person tackles Donald, laughs hysterically, and runs into the Festival of the Lion King show, where security took him and escorted him out.
Maybe he had his movies mixed up. That was DONALD duck, not the MIGHTY ducks!:rotfl2: :lmao: :confused3 :happytv:

I was thinking something similar......like maybe they thought it was Howard the Duck and were angry after wasting 2 hours on his movie LOL

All kidding aside...I hope the CM inside was ok. Its hard enough being a character let alone dealing with rudeness like that. The teen who tackeled Donald must have some proud parents!

I wonder if your acquaintance has seen the movie "Waiting" -it's a comedy about people in the food service industry and the things they do to the food of such horrible customers. I love the part with the very B*&#%y woman and what they did to her steak before bringing it out to her. Hilarious and nausea inducing
Oh, I know! I would always try to be super nice to the wait staff so that their appropriate anger did not spill over onto me. But then, finally, I had it with her. It's bad enough to be rude and obnoxious, but she was rude and obnoxious because she knew if she made enough of a scene that managers will throw free stuff at such customers. So she deliberately made hell for service workers to get free stuff and on top of it all -- she was rich! We all talked about it with her and she refused to see that she was being downright mean or that she was ruining dining out for everyone else. We all would feel nauseous every time we had to eat with her.

So one day, we went into a restaurant and were greeted by a young woman who said something like, 'Hi, my name is Susie and I'm happy to be your server today.' Without thinking, my mouth just opened and I said, "Well, Susie, you won't be happy to be our server for too much longer, because Debbie here is about to make your life a living hell so that she can get a free meal."

Yup, I said it. I embarrassed the hell out of her. And I'm glad about it too. She shut up for the entire meal. We never ate together again. And I'm glad about that too. Too many meals were ruined by her behavior and too many servers had their day ruined by her behavior. Sometimes you gotta do what you gotta do.

Having had a cousin who was infameous for this kind of behavior I can actually answer that question. The thought process is "I wanna - Give Me - Now!" and maybe a petulent foot stomp for emphasis... that's about as much as the people are capeable of thinking.

Wouldn't you love to know exactly what she was thinking when she acted like that? I always wonder what it is that makes people (a) flaunt the rules like that, and then (b) try to argue down the WDW employees attempting to enforce the rules. I'd really like to know their thought process that led them to think that was the correct thing to do right then.

Sadly, that is exactly why the public has become more and more belligerent and nasty. They know that no one dares to challenge them. They themselves have no moral code or class. It is a dog eat dog world to them and intimidation is the only power they will ever know.

Fear of lawsuits, violence and more stop us from standing up for our rights. It is a terribly slippery slope and I don't see anyway to reverse it until large companies and small individuals alike take a stand and just not take it anymore. Bullies can be bullied back. There is an element of risk but it seems that the way the world is now, being meek is a guarantee that someone will do something to you. This week was a case in point. From what I read many things might have transpired that could very well have altered the events that happened but no one had the intestinal fortitude to take what would have been considered an unpopular stand. So many people died needlessly.

I wonder sometimes if we are ever going to get our strength back or spend the remainder of our time wallowing in political correctness. It just makes me sad.

:sad2:

well said!!!!!!!!!!!

Just had to add this story and bring a little levity after reading this thread...

DW and I were at WDW Xmas '05. It was getting towards the end of a fairly warm (87 degrees) day and we were waiting for the bus back to POP while at MGM. Park was still a couple of hours from closing so lines weren't super long but they were full nonetheless. After waiting about 20 mins for the bus we'd made it to the front of the line with a group of other very friendly people we'd gotten to know during the 20 minute wait. The next bus pulled up and both front and back doors open. Immediately, this group of about 8 young people (@20 yrs old) bolt through the back doors. Well I guess about 30 feet from the bus they realize they've gone to the wrong park (wanted Epcot) and immediately turn around and run back on the bus through the back door. Of course those of us standing in line waiting to load onto the bus see this but don't realize it is the same group of kids and just presume a bunch of people decided not to wait in line. Within a split second the friendly group we'd been turns into a lynch-mob complete with torches and enough rope to hang each of these kids and starts screaming and yelling at these poor kids. The look on their faces told us they thought we were going to kill them all. One of them meekly stuck his head out the door and explained what had happend. We all stood there and just said "Oh, go ahead then". Then we all looked at each other and broke out in hysterical laughter at the transformation that had taken place in this placid friendly group. The moral of the story...don't cross hot and tired WDWers at the end of a long day while they're waiting for the bus. You're taking your life in your hands :lmao: .

I have been told in the past, that if a CM tells you to "Have a Disney Day!" you must have done something to tick them off. The sweeter they say it,the more ticked off they are. Of course I wouldn't say this is an "offical code" dictated by Disney management.
This is just an urban legend. If a CM tells you to "Have a magical day!" or "Have a Disney day!" they mean for you to have a good day. That's it.

I feel the need to say this because I'd hate for a guest to report a CM for being "rude" when all they said was "Have a magical day!"

Anybody ever see a patron removed from a park? Would this have been reason enough for ejection? I've been curious about this ever since that day.
AFAIK, you've either got to break some laws to get ejected from the park (i.e. assault, theft, etc.) or cause a fairly major disturbance. Disrupting a ride typically isn't grounds for ejection from the park (although it can result in the ride being stopped and the disruptive guest being thrown off it -- see some of the other posts here); neither is merely being rude.

In a situation like this, management usually will not back the CMs up. The CMs are the ones who inform the guests what the rules are, and Management's job is to make the guests happy when the Guests complain. If that means letting a rude guest ride wherever she likes, they'll do it.

A buddy of mine saw a guest at BTMR, tired of what they perceived to be an overly-long wait in the Standby line hop the rail to Fastpass, and then shove their way past the CM at Merge Point, saying, "I don't have a ticket and I've waited long enough. Call security if you want, but I'm going!" Management was immediately called. In the meantime, the Guest got all the way to Load, where they were asked to wait for a manager. The guest refused, and when the gates opened, jumped on the next train and yanked down on the lap bar. The Dispatcher (my buddy) refused to send the train, and it sat in the station until a manager arrived and asked the guest to come with them. They left -- and returned five minutes later, where the guest was promptly put on the ride and sent on his merry way.

That is so sad that people will do things like that. I had a similar thing to witness at Mickey's Phil in December. It was 12/22, it was really starting to get crowded so close to Christmas and this family in front of us sits right down in the middle, putting thier backpacks, bags etc., at their feet making it extrememly difficult to even move around them. I asked them to please move over, they looked miffed but started to get up. Guess who stopped them from doing so? The person who had plopped down midrow first, a plaid vested cm who was escorting them through the park. I didn't recognize them as being famous but they did have their own VIP escort so who knows. In any case it was really annoying to see a WDW CM being the one to help the guest break the rule that in affect is the easiest to follow and makes a huge difference in the way a ride or show loads/seats the masses. I said loudly "too bad the employees don't follow their own rules".

On the one hand, the Tour Guides are well-aware of what the rules are, and they are subject to the sames rules as everyone else. On the other hand, Tour Guides aren't cheap -- AFAIK, booking a Guide starts at $125.00 an hour with a six hour minimum. Depending on the tour (and the guests - high-level Disney executives, for example, or even lucky YoaMD winners), it may indeed include VIP entry or seating.

That doesnt make it right. Id have stepped on the tour guides toes too.:confused3 :rotfl:

I actually didn't step on his toes, they had so much junk on the floor I couldn't get around, we just had to plop down next to them. After a week of the DDP, his toes would have been mighty smushed if I had! Mr. Plaid vested CM also let Mr. Special VIP camcord during the show to add insult to injury.

I agree but sometimes I let rude inconsiderate people get the best of me. I need to remind myself to just let it go.
We were waiting in line for Pirates of the Carribean last week behind a large family. I was alone with my little kids and this woman came and cut in line in front of the family ahead of me. Nobody was paying attention, but I watched her signal to her husband to join her. They were looking around and laughing to each other. I didn't say anything but I found myself thinking
"evil thoughts" on them as we waited to get on the ride. :stir: It was awful! I was hoping the woman would trip or gain weight... things like that! Can you believe it? All over a Disney ride! I had to laugh at myself!:o

Last time at Disney, we were stuck in an incredibly long line for the safari ride and a couple jumped in front of us and then motioned several friends over also. I think one of the CM's must've seen it, because at one of the special entry gates, they opened it and motioned for us to go to the head of the line...which was still very long, even at that point. I was in shock, but wish I'd turned back to look at that group and  :yay: :dance3: :rotfl: (Disney justice!!)

It really starts to get me down, if I'm not careful, when I see so many people being just plain rude. There are days like today, when 2 kids at dd's school charged right up to the door in front of my dd while I was punching in the code, and rushed in in front of my dd as soon as I started to open the door. The mother made some comment about saying "excuse me," but the girls ignored her and charged on without saying a thing. I know it's little, but it bugs me because these kids will be the ones cutting in line or sitting in the middle of the theater at Disney in 5 years. Too few people seem to put any emphasis on teaching their kids manners or consideration any more. There are times when it seems like we are the only ones teaching our kids to say please and thank you. There's never any penalty for being rude any more. I usually see at least a dozen examples of this every day on my 12 mile commute home, and never see anyone getting a ticket.

(I'm so sorry I hijacked your post with my vent--I really do hope that person suffered some kind of reprimand, but my guess is that she didn't.)
