Do You Think Disney Ejected This Patron??

On my last trip 2 late teen-early 20 somethings stopped mid row in Mickey's Philharmagic. I ended up in the row behind them, almost right behind them. I have to say I felt sorry for them. They were speaking quietly to each other in German. Meanwhile, people who weren't even in their row were loudly making rude comments in their direction. Perhaps they spoke English, perhaps they knew they should have moved over, but the reaction of the people not even in their row, and probably not knowing they didn't speak english (at least not as a first language) was way out of proportion to the offense.

My husand used to work security at Disneyland. They will remove people from the park if they become dangerous ( get out of their seats in the middle of rides or bother people in the parks like heelys (that is why they are banned)) but I don't think being rude gets you kicked out. If you have the right person working and you push the right buttons then I think it can, but not as a general rule. I'll have to ask him when he gets home what the protocole was for something like that.

I'd appreciate knowing this. The event I described didn't ruin my day and it was definitely the exception to an otherwise great trip. I was just surprised at this woman's defiance of a reasonable demand by the CMs working the ride. This was more than just being rude. She took a seat that some other paying guest would have gotten if procedure had been followed and the whole ride was held up by her refusal to go to the seat that her place in line would have dictated. BTW, I was not the only rider who could be heard encouraging the CMs to boot her out, so maybe there's something to a previous suggestion that security was on hand for her protection, not ejection. My thinking was that Disney cannot have the chaos that would result if all riders just seated themselves on rides that load like Soarin', think of the numbers one stands on at ToT, and that they'll remove someone who openly defies a polite direction by a ride CM. I shouldda hung around for her to exit the theater and pass by the CMs I suspected of waiting to escort her out.

Being the person that I am- I would have been POed and would have been making coments to the lady myself. peope forget that disney is a privelege. it is private property and you can be removed for any reason they see fit. You have no right to be there.

I'll ask him ASAP when he gets of work.

This thread reminded me of when my DS and DN and I were at DL a couple of years ago. We were waiting to watch Fantasmic and unlike the WDW, the show is not in an amphitheater and basically they would rope off huge sections along the river and would only open it up at certain times so people scrambled in trying to score a patch of concrete when the ropes came down. The CM's must have announced a zillion times that all strollers had to be folded up or put away behind the group. A woman refused to do this blocking our view and some other's. Whenever a CM made an announcement (again) she would just turn her head and pretend not to hear. My DS got up and told the CM about her stroller and he just made another brief announcement. Keep in mind, she was the ONLY one still with the stroller up! Again, nothing. So, my DS finally leaned to her and politely told her in Spanish what the CM said because yes there were Latin and so are we. The woman snapped at my sister saying..'I can speak English!' My DS is not afraid of confrontation so she replied back 'Then put down your stroller.' The woman replied that her children couldn't see and my DS said that it didn't matter that she had a son that couldn't see. The woman's husband finally took the stroller down.
I have to say that I am actually kind of surprised that the CM didn't do more than just keep making brief announcements instead of signaling her out. But it was busy and lots was going on so I guess they don't the manpower to resolve every issue.
Sorry this was so long!

We were in the fast pass lane at Splash Mtn. and when we got to the ticket taker inside, a woman in the regular lane told the CM that the two teenage boys in front of them had jumped the railing just a few yards back. The CM immediately ejected the boys from the line and told them they could go to the end or be escorted out by security. The CM was a big dude and was very professional about it. Glad to see they do follow policy and procedure.

:scared1: What happened?

Well to make two long stories short, here's the extreme basics what happened which caused two people to get ejected:

1) A man (in front of his kid) threatened to "F****** kill me" if he didn't get a picture with Mary Poppins (since the line was already closed). Needless to say I called security and he was escorted out of the park by Orange County Police.

2) The second incident was over at Animal Kingdom, back in Camp Minnie Mickey. I was working with Donald Duck, and he was just wandering around the paths because he had no guests, and a teenager thought it would be funny if he ran and tackled Donald to the ground. So the person tackles Donald, laughs hysterically, and runs into the Festival of the Lion King show, where security took him and escorted him out.

I really just don't understand what would possess some people to do things like this.

:scared1:  Oh my gosh!! That is horrible! I don't get why people do those things.:sad2: I have had people argue with me over the lines being closed. And I have to tell them, the character will either be back at ___, or I'm sorry but the character is done now. As for abusing the characters, well I hope whoever does that is arrested.

Oh, and I don't tolerate cursing either. I will try to help you if I can, but once you curse at me, forget it. I had a lady curse at me once (in front of her daughter too), and she wasn't even in the character's line! I think the family that was up with Pooh was more shocked then I was unfortunately.

Sadly, probably not. The CM's were probably there to make sure a fight didn't break out between this woman and the first CM, or other guests. On my WDW trips I have come across quite a few people who deserve to be ejected for their behavior and they never are. I have seen people lunge across counters and get into CM's faces, I have heard people swearing at CM's, and worse. But nothing is ever said to them. My mom says it's because if they ejected from the park the people will probably turn around and try to sue WDW and probably win even though the tickets say they are revokable at WDW's discretion.

Well of course, you tell people the usual "I'm sorry my line is closed right now, but we'll be back at 11:30", but some people will argue and argue and it just gets out of hand sometimes unfortunately. With the death threat, well I just don't understand why somebody would get that upset over a character.

I am no angel but when there are rules posted or someone in charge tells me to follow the rules I feel obligated to do so.

ME TOO!! I have to say my biggest pet peeve at WDW is people who use flash photography where they aren't supposed to! I complained to several CM's about this on our December trip and they were basically like "oh well." What's the point of making the rule if you aren't going to enforce it? It ruins the experience for those of us who are considerate of others and who do abide by the rules.

The bottom line is this guest probably could have had that seat with no problem if she's asked a cm BEFORE the seating period. Clods like this can't be thrown out, but they should be escorted to security to discuss how the cm's seat people. Cost them more time than it's worth might slow down their problem.

And luvthephunk, I am so jealous.

For those who cut in line, I would like to sweetly say "No need to cut, I have saved a place for you......... In the back of the line."

However, with the way the world is now, I think I will "consider the source" take 10 deep breaths and think my luck stars that I am alive and enjoying Disney with those I love.

The verdict of what should have been done by a security cast member-
Security should have been called when she refused to move. They shouldn't have run the ride at all. Once security arrived they would have told her that she needed to move at once or she would be removed from the park. Since that isn't what happened in this case this is what most likely did happen.

Once she got off the ride secuity would have been there. Usually a security manager too. They would have detained her and made sure it was clear that her behavior was unacceptable and give her a tresspassing warning. (Remember you have no legal right to the property). If she continued to be belligerent or rude to the cast members and security then she would have been removed from the park right then. Other wise they would give her a warning that if she did this again on any other attraction she would be removed at that time from the park. (If there was another call that day for a women matching her description doing a similiar thing then once security was called she would be escorted off property. Not just out of the park but off of Disney property.) They would take her ticket (even if it was an annual pass) and ban her for either the day or the year depending on how severe the offense.

So most likely she was removed because once they get belligernt they usually do not stop. Plus no one thinks they will really get kicked out of a Disney park.

Hopefully this information will ease your curroisty of what most likely happened.

Sadly, that is exactly why the public has become more and more belligerent and nasty. They know that no one dares to challenge them. They themselves have no moral code or class. It is a dog eat dog world to them and intimidation is the only power they will ever know.

Fear of lawsuits, violence and more stop us from standing up for our rights. It is a terribly slippery slope and I don't see anyway to reverse it until large companies and small individuals alike take a stand and just not take it anymore. Bullies can be bullied back. There is an element of risk but it seems that the way the world is now, being meek is a guarantee that someone will do something to you. This week was a case in point. From what I read many things might have transpired that could very well have altered the events that happened but no one had the intestinal fortitude to take what would have been considered an unpopular stand. So many people died needlessly.

I wonder sometimes if we are ever going to get our strength back or spend the remainder of our time wallowing in political correctness. It just makes me sad.

Maybe he had his movies mixed up. That was DONALD duck, not the MIGHTY ducks!:rotfl2: :lmao: :confused3 :happytv:

Quite honestly, I think that people believe they can flaunt the rules because they are brought up or become terminally self-absorbed and truly believe that they are 'special' and that the rules are for others. How many times have you seen in your child's school a parent insisting that the rules need to be bent or broken for their little prince or princess? And how many times do people agree to break the rules under those situations? Often enough that such individuals learn that they ARE in fact entitled to whatever they want and/or that if they make a big enough stink that the person being stunk up will surrender.

And I can assure you having been in customer service and having an acquaintance (notice I did NOT say friend) who was one of those people, making a stink does not ruin their day. In fact they either think nothing of it because they do it so often it means nothing to them and/or they actually enjoy making a stink for the drama of it or because they know making a stink will get them what they want. This acquaintance of ours used to announce as we went into a restaurant with her that, 'Oh goodie, it's time to make a server miserable so I can get a free meal.'
I wonder if your acquaintance has seen the movie "Waiting" -it's a comedy about people in the food service industry and the things they do to the food of such horrible customers. I love the part with the very B*&#%y woman and what they did to her steak before bringing it out to her. Hilarious and nausea inducing at the same time...:lmao:

I always tell people to be very nice to workers in restaurants. These guys will have your food behind the counter, out of your sight. There is no telling what they can and will do to it if you're a jerk. it's not like they can't get another junk job just like they have instantly. And heck, hardly anybody these days will say anything other than. "Yes he worked here for the time he stated."

MojitoMiss, Goofy4Tink and Robo... :thumbsup2 I will take your advice! Why I never thought about it like that.... I don't know!!!

I think I probably rushed right in along with the rest of the crowd.... Next time, I will slow it down a bunch to get more of a center seat.... It's the 3D shows that having the middle seat, makes a difference...

:wave2: Goofy4Tink, Hi Fellow central Mass-a, Do you live near Charlton? Yes it was nice out... But even better on Monday I'm hearing!!!!:yay:
After last week I am so all set with rain!!!!
