Do you regret your tattoo?

I've never liked tattoes, but even if I did, I am the type that would 'change my mind' and that is why I always remind my sons that they are FOREVER. The Foghorn Leghorn example is a good one - I dont know how many grown men I've seen with things on their arms where you have to say "really??" Though, ofcourse, I do truly hope they still :cloud9: it. :thumbsup2:)

Yep. I have three (all Disney) and I wish I didn't have any.
I'm tired of them and can't wait until I can get them removed.

I had originally wanted Tigger on my ankle, and I'm glad I didn't get a cartoon character.

LOL...My ex husband got a Tweety bird tattoo on his arm when he was 16. Finally, in his late 20s, he got it covered up with a sun and tribal band. Much more 'adult' looking :lmao:

Love my tattoo. I've had it for 13 years now. Its a rose on my left shoulder. BTW, I'm thinking of getting another one, just don't know where.

DS had a "Fox racing" logo on his arm. Last year, he had it 'fixed' and has a tribal band now. Much nicer ;)

I have three little pink stars on the upper side of my right wrist and I LOVE them! I got them done in Seattle at the end of a four week road trip with friends and every time I look at them, it makes me smile. They're also in a very easy place to cover up, I wear a watch to work and I don't think anyone even knows I have them!

My mom always told me that if I got a tatoo, it should be something I could cover up on my wedding day, and she was right. I covered mine up with a bracelet on my wedding day and I was so happy it didn't show.

I agree with the 'wedding day coverup'..
Not to upset anyone this might have happened to. But, as much as I"m a fan of tattoos, I hate to see beautiful wedding pictures with the brides rose showing just abover her breast :rolleyes1:rolleyes1

I have a 3-circle Mickey head on my lower back - got him when I was 26 and after many years of deciding whether to do it or not. I have not regretted him - I'll love Disney forever, after all!

I do wish I had gotten a very small "hidden Mickey" on my lower front though. Something that could be hidden all the time like my other one, but I could see each day. I never see my other one! :rotfl:

I can see how people regret them - especially if they get them in their teen or college years. Plus, I have seen some random tattoos that don't seem to have much meaning to the owner. But I don't judge - doesn't bother me a bit!

That's what I tell my girls too! :thumbsup2

I got my first tatoo when I was 21 (more than 20 years ago) and I don't regret it.

Got my second about 10 years ago and don't regret it either.

I made sure to choose something that was not some kind of "fad" item. I have flowers/heart and sun/moon...they are a part of me.

I have a heart on my wrist and a cluster of stars on my hips. As of right now I loveee them but I can maybe see regret with the wrist one when i get older. I take confort in the fact that its pretty small (about an inch) and if I get to the point where I feel embaressed by it I can always get it removed.

My other idea for it is maybe get my kids (when I have them) initials in the heart.. I think itd be cute! haha but im getting ahead of myself...

As of now, no regret :thumbsup2

My DH got his one and only at 28 and he regrets his. It's on his arm and can be covered up with even a short sleeve shirt, but he wishes he never got it. My brother regrets one of his tattoos. He got it when he was in the navy and it is a devil that says "Born to Raise Hell". Now that he's a dad to 3 girls, he really regrets it! I know he has one other that he got recently and I think he has another that I've never seen, but the one on his ankle he will never regret, it's a symbol for his favorite team.

I have 4 tattoos and DH has 8. Neither of us regret them. I got mine at 17,18, and 23. DH got all 8 between 23-25. DH has always said Tattoos are the roadmap to life, and I tend to agree, all of mine have a special meaning to me

I love my tattoo! Definately don't regret it. I got it when I was 22, though I often forget about it so I'll never get sick of it LOL. It's on my back inbetween my shoulder blades. As for the wedding day cover-up, it's something I WANT to showwhen I get married. I've never, ever had a bad thing said about it. People ask me all the time, why did you get it somewhere where you can't see it if you like it so much? I tell them it's decoration - you can't really see a necklace that you're wearing, can you?

Oh and for the record, it's a dolphin heart (2 dolphins making the shape of a heart) with a pink/purple beach sunset in in the blank space in the middle. The 2 dolphins have "tattoos" of their own - a bass and treble clef.

I have two, one on my lower back and one on my shoulder that I got about 7-8 years ago. I completely forget about them until I see them in pictures. So it's kind of hard to regret something I can't even remember I have! :rotfl:

I have a rose tattoo on my leg. I got it because I found it almost as beautiful as the love I felt for my ex girlfriend. There's no name inked there, but whenever I look at it I think of her. It's not like I really regret it, as it is my favourite one among my 5 tattoos, but sometimes it hurts a little. :confused3

I have three. I got my first one at 18, second at 27 and third at 29. I love them to all. I don't anticipate regretting them...but ask me again when I'm 80, lol.

My DH got one on his hand when he was 15 and he regrets it. He has a cover up, but it's not very well done. His other tattoos he loves as they are all symbols from bands he's played in or designs he's come up with himself.

I'd never get one, but my BIL is a dermatologist. He sees many patients every week who want to get rid of them. Because it is expensive and not covered by insurance, often not effective, and frequently painful, he tries to talk people out of the removal, but most go ahead with it anyway because they really want the tattoos off.

I don't have any, but I am curious. How old are those of you who do not regret them? I live in Florida. People here wear shorts and short sleeves year round. I see a lot of tattoos. I see a lot of tattoos on older people. Believe me, many of them don't look good. As you age, the elasticity of your skin lessens and the tattoos tend to sag. I wonder if you will feel the same when you reach your 60s or 70s. I'm not trying to start anything, I'm just curious.
