Do you let your child jump on a trampoline?

My kids were forbidden to go on anyone's trampoline. If they went to a friend's house that had one, I told the parent I didn't want my kids on it.

I may be the bad mom but as a physical therapist, there was no way I would let them risk it.

No trampolines for my kids, unless it's got a safety net, and they jump ONE at a time.

Just wanting to add-- our trampoline (which we bought last year after many years of begging) has this warning written clearly on the net "only one bouncer at a time."

I jumped on trampolines as a kid with about 5 other kids on it at one time and with no net. Moreover, we would jump on the trampoline up onto the roof of the house. (How smart was that?). Did I get hurt? No. Yes, there is a chance of them getting injured. Will they? I don't know -- I don't have a crystal ball.

However, I will say this -- jumping on a trampoline is one heck of a work out! Oh, and I sprained my ankle last year in one of those bounce houses we rented for DD's birthday - so to say they are safer than a trampoline - I'm not so sure.

Finally, while we did buy one last year after much begging, our kids hardly ever use it. :confused3 They would much rather ride their bikes.
