I remember my grandmother always having a full candy dish whenever I visited. She would buy Brach wrapped candies that came in different flavors (orange, caramel, chocolate, toffee). She used a covered crystal candy dish. I still remember the sound when I picked up the cover.
I always have a candy dish when I have guests, usually something like Lindt chocolates. Around holidays I buy seasonal candy. Today I bought Reece's cups wrapped in spring colored foil. At Halloween I will have candy corn. And of course at Christmas there is always something tempting scattered around in different rooms.
What about you? Do you have a candy dish? What kind of candy do you put in yours?

I have one at work, right now it is empty. I usually buy things that I don't like just so I won't eat it. :)

For my Valentine birthday, my father bought me a bag of Hershey's chocolates (I have never been a chocolate fan) so they all went in my candy dish. Sometimes I have Starbursts or Tootsie rolls. One time I had Airheads and my boss couldn't stay away from my desk. I always pick something that is wrapped, unwrapped candy in a community jar is just asking to share colds.

My grandmother had one just like that!!!

I do not have one, we rarely have company and I certainly don't need my kids having 24/7 access to candy. :scared1::scared1::scared1:

Nope, don't have one, but my grandmother always had (at least) one out at her house. I loved visiting her. The green moon and stars one in her living room always had hershey kisses in it. Thanks for the warm & fuzzy memory :)

LOL! Your post brought back great memories. My grandma always had a candy dish and so did my mom. My friends used to love to come to my house. To me, it was no big deal. And yes, I do have a candy dish. Right now it's empty as I gave up candy for lent. But right after Easter, it'll be full again. I also have one in my office. The one at home is crystal, too.;)

Nope no candy dish I have a candy drawer we are candy addicts here :) yesteday while I was out I bought 7 bags of candy I don't know how we all don't weight 300 pounds

I have my grandmother's candy dish. It has some of her fancy buttons in it.

Yes. Ours belonged to DH's Grandmother. It was always on her desk.

Now it is on the shelf. where no one can touch it :confused3

Guess I was afraid someone would break it????? sigh.

I have my grandmother's crystal candy dish, but I can't have candy in it. My kidlets would have it completely empty in under 2 hours!

My great grandmother had one!! She had a white one I think it was octagonal with a lid and she always had the Brachs Butterscotch wrapped candies.:goodvibes Oh and I just thought the always had M & M's in another one. I think the M & M's were in the octagonal one and Brachs in a regular crystal one!

I actually have several candy dishes. They just sit out empty.
for us.....we have a candy cookie jar :rotfl: It is kept full of sugar free chocolates.
I also have a closet that I keep my secret stash of chocolate in and only sit it out as needed.

If I had a candy dish, it would just be a dish, because I would eat all the candy.

I don't, but my MIL has one. I started calling before we'd go over to ask her to put it away because my kids would try to mow through it. My littlest DD told me the other day that nana puts candy in the dresser in her guest bedroom for them, but it's a secret. I guess it's not a coincidence that my dear kids have taken to watching TV in that room when they go to nanas.

Yes, we have 2. One's a Cookie Monster cookie jar, the other is just a Pottery Barn glass jar with a lid. OP, I like stocking seasonal candies in the clear one too. Right now there's a pastel Easter Hershey's assortment in there.

My dad broke my mom's candy dish. He went out and got her another one that played a pretty song when you opened the lid, which was used to tell on us when we were sneaking candy. lol It's a gorgeous candy dish. After dad died, mom gave it to me. I keep hard candy in it, but it's rarely used. I love it, though, because it reminds me of my dad.

I have a very special candy dish. It was my mother's, and she always had "Brach's Starlight" peppermints in it, and that's the same candy that I stil keep in it now. My mother said that her mother always had a candy dish out, too; I guess it's a family tradition. :)

Yes, I have a candy bowl with a little lid. I usually either have M&Ms or Hersey kisses in it. :)

I have two large crystal candy dishes that belonged to my grandmother that sit on my coffee tables . I try to keep candy in them , but with 3 teenagers in the house..... fat chance!!:sad2::confused3:laughing: Like Meriweather I also keep a hidden chocolate stash just in case I have sudden chocolate withdrawal symptoms!! :scared1: If I didn't keep it hidden there wouldn't be any there when I really needed it!! :lmao:
:confused3 I admit it I'm a chocoholic!!:sad2::rotfl:

I have a covered crystal candy "barrel" (like a wide-mouthed jar). That sucker is heavy. I put seasonal candy in it. Right now it's full of milk chocolate Cadbury Mini Eggs. We keep it on the counter that separates the kitchen and family room.

I have my Grandmas, it's harvest gold glass and oh so 70s. It was always filled with scotch mints. One of my earliest memories is Grandpa putting it on the fridge because I was eating all his mints :rotfl: After that Grandma always made sure to buy extras when I was coming over :goodvibes The sound of the lid still brings back memories.

Now it's only full at Christmas. I'm sure when I have grandchildren I'll make sure it's full when they come to visit, but with kids living here full time it would be empty in no time.
