Do you ever worry that maybe your children...

The responses to my query have made me feel better. I know my sister at 20 decided to write me out of her life and the whole family went along with it. But, truly, as much as I missed her contact over the years, I would have to say that she is the one with the problem, not me.

Thank-you to all who replied to this thread. I will return to it again when I need reassurance. Basically, it seems that one does the best one can with one's children and que sera, sera.{What will be, will be.}

It is amazing that children raised in the same house, by the same parents, can turn out to be so totally different from one another. Sometimes, siblings simply have nothing in common, don't share the same interests, etc.

I have one sister and rarely talk to her...mostly my choice. I don't recall a conversation in which she hasn't asked for something...money, legal advice, or whatever. It's not a rewarding relationship on any level. She is also full of grand schemes that never get off the ground. If I talk to her, I either have to listen to her as if I believe her, or call her on it, which would make her mad.

Missypie, my sister and I were just talking about that over coffee. You see, she has fraternal twins and they have been raised identically, same life experiences, same parenting, etc. Well, two more different people you won't find.

I suggested that there may be one difference, they treat them as a boy and girl. Other than that, they had the same environment.

Yes, my husband truly has an evil (fraternal) twin. It's like each of them only got one side of the whole brain. DH is very muscial and artistic;he can't even add 5+9 in his head; the twin is an accountant. DH is passive and the twin is dominant. Dh could care less about stocks bonds and investments and doesn't like sports; the twin lives and breaths only for money and can only hold converstations about investments or golf. Go figure.
