Do you correct people about using *Land* or *World*

Whenever I speak about Disney World (which is a lot), I often encounter people who call Disney World, Florida *Disney Land*.
I always correct them. I guess I am sensitive about this.

Does anyone find the same problem ???

I do it all the time too, the people just look at me and say doesn't matter, same thing, which of course makes me want to go on about how they aren't the same at all...

Oh yes, that's a pet peeve of mine! I always correct people when they say one for the other. I also had a friend once type WDL for Disneyland, and I said no, it's just Disneyland, not Walt Disney Land. I guess when you really love something, it annoys you when people get it mixed up.

Oh yeah.

I was talking to one of my kids' teachers once, after she had gone on vacation to WDW. She said that they only went to Disney one day (and I thought "but they were going for a week"?), and then spent the rest of the time at MGM, Epcot and Animal Kingdom.

I hear that too, we went to Disney, but then we were in MGM, ect. These are obviously not Disers. I have to explain to people in my office, EVERY time I go, no I am going to Disney World, it's in Florida. Disneyland is in California. ARGGGGG!

I hate when people do that! I had to do a Spanish project about Los Angeles with a group, and for tourist attractions someone wrote "Walt Disney Land" on our poster. I was freaking out!

Did you hear Dick Clark the other night on NYE??? He kept saying "oooh it looks warm at Disneyland down there in FLORIDA!"

A co-worker of mine went to california for a conference and spent a day at "Disney" Apparently, she and her friends were walking around California Adventure asking "Where's Disney?" and people (hee hee) were pointing the way to go. After a few hours of this, they finally approached a cast member and said "Where's Disney?" The CM kindly told them they were in Disney. They asked "Well, where's the CASTLE??" and the CM explained that it was in the Disneyland park, with seperate admission. They then proceeded to the ticket booth where they DEMANDED a refund because it was so unclear! They were allowed to have their passes transferred to hoppers and were told how to go to Disneyland's Main Street.... and she's STILL complaining about it!!!!!

SOME PEOPLE!!!!!!!! :o

Ted and Holly dick clark was driving me nuts too!! That story is too funny!

I correct people all the time. Most think I am nuts!LOL:p

Depends on who it is. I corrected my cooperating teacher when I was student teaching and it didn't go over too well. hehehe

I didn't know that it bothered me until New Years Eve. I was at my boyfriend's house with his family and they were showing Disney World and Disneyland on TV and someone was like where is that? Oh it's Disney Land or World, whatever same thing. I wanted to say NO it's NOT the same thing!!

It annoys me too. I also hate it when people still use EuroDisney instead of Disneyland Paris :D

Reminds me of the time I was walking over to the fish and chips counter in World Showcase and two women walked by and said "I wonder where Epcot is -- I guess it was that big silver ball back there".

Yes I always correct!

I'm amazed at the amount of confusion on the two resorts. Seems to me it was in all the papers when these parks were built and opened, and there are tv commercials for WDW on pretty consistently. I correct people when I get the chance:rolleyes:

I never bother, but I have a lower AST (anal sphincter tone) than some DISers;) ;) ;) ;) ;) .............

just the other day a lady here at the library said she got her sweatshirt at "Disneyland in Florida" I asked her if she meant Disney World in Fl or Disneyland in CA
