Do you buy new clothes for your vacations?

I ususally think about what I want to pack and then I see if anything needs replacing. (ie-are my tshirts getting ratty, if I'm going to dinner or a show do I need a outfit that's appropriate). If not then I may do a "lets buy a new outfit" which translate into do I need any new seasonal clothes that coincide with the trip. Other than that I prefer my old comfys to new clothes on vacation.

we usually go in May and since my boys are in the growing stage of life I get them new summer cloths before the trip...and I usually break down and get a few new dressy "dinner " tops for me!!!! Yes we do two outfits a day... we go back shower and change into nicer night time cloths.

Yes I buy new things. Not ALL new things but I think to buy at least 1 new outfit...and shoes...oh and a bag...and.

OK it's a disease for me!

i love to have outfits made from ebay for my girls. makes for great photos and extra attention during parades.

Oh yeah, I'm kinda horrible about having new/nicer stuff on trips. Not so much for me and the husband but for the kids, though I let them do all their normal stuff and if it gets stained so be it. And I like the kids to match, too. I claim it's because if one of them ever got lost, I'd be sure to know what they were wearing because all I'd have to do is point to another kid..but I do like the "cute" factor, too!

Here's the kids last time at Disney!

On our way out, yes, all matching:

It was a lot of fun, I made them on the computer and ironed them on.

One HUGE problem was that when it rained (which it does every day) the colors ran!

This time I'm going to get at least one day of shirts crafted (not by me, I don't have the talent!). I doubt my husband, inlaws, etc will want to play along for more than one day. BUT, I did add two sons, so I'm thinking with the five kids to coordinate there's enough to keep me busy!! :rolleyes1 Finding cute matching crafted stuff for them is one of the things I look forward to the most (and they love it because it makes it feel even more 'special'!)

Oh YeA! I start shopping right away to make it affordable!!
New...

swimsuites
beach towels
flip flops
sunglasses
pool bag
purse
clothes
nail polish

We normally go in the middle of the winter, so at the end of the summer season I get my son and soon my daughter new bathing suits in the size they will be in aprox in Feb and some new t-shirts if they are on sale at the disney store.
New Pj's are a must for all of us.

This trip, I splurged and bought all new outfits for the kids and DH. But I couldn't find many things I really liked for myself. My best friend came over the week before we left with 2 new outfits. She said I needed them too! It was our first trip to Disney in many years and she goes a couple times a year. Anyway, it was fun to have new things!!
Another idea, and please don't laugh...
I bring all old socks and undies for everyone. Then, when they are dirty, I just toss them out. When we get home, everyone has fresh new ones in their drawer and I don't have any to wash!:lmao:

Heck yes:woohoo:I love to have the family lookin good! I take my time between trips looking for "cruise wear" and find some beautiful and unique bargains, especially on the racks in the back of the finer stores just before Christmas when all the summer stuff is pennies on the dollar. I found some beeeauuutiful handbeaded and sequin tops for this year that I can't wait to wear! $4.99 on the Macy's rack:rotfl:

I try not to buy new clothes for the trip as long as what they already have fits and is in good condition. We usually go to at least one really nice dinner (like Yatchsman Steakhouse)so I do buy new outfits for that. I do occassionally take not so nice clothes and leave them behind rather than packing them back up and taking them home never to be worn again-more room for souveniers! We always look presentable and no one knows we didn't buy new clothes for the trip. I do buy new underwear and leave it at home. Then each day, we throw out the old. I wonder what the mousekeeper must think each day when she sees old underwear in the trash.

I love new vacation clothes! I tried one year not to buy new and it was like someone had taken part of my fun away!

I did buy many new things for Disney...I like my girls to coordinate so I always remember what they are wearing..in case I misplace one of them! :lmao:

But for our non disney beach trip each summer...not unless there is a need.

I've had to buy capris for myself because I had a baby the previous summer and nothing fit that I already had. Otherwise, we wear what we have. DD has a lot of Disney t-shirts, and I'll buy more before we go to WDW June '10. DH & I won't be sporting Disney-themed clothes because we wouldn't wear them at home. I might buy a hoodie for myself when I get there. I'm debating on buying a princess outfit and having DD wear it 1/2 day at a park.

I don't buy a lot but I do like to get matching t-shirts for a couple of days.

We went to WDW last summer and had enough clothes for the kids to have a couple of outfits a day. I didn't want to have to wash clothes while we were there.

However, I found that we got wet A LOT! We let the kids play in the water play areas, it rained or we just were sweaty! It kind of creeped me out to have all of those damp dirty clothes laying around so I ended up washing them about halfway through the trip anyway.

I think that for the trip we are taking in June to Disneyland, we will try to pack a little lighter and plan to do laundry. I just couldn't stand all the dirty clothes just sitting there!

I know that I will end up shopping for a few things because I want them, but honestly we don't NEED anything for our trip. We live in Texas and since it is pretty much "shorts" weather from March through October, we have lots of warm-weather attire.

We usually buy new Disney t-shirts for all from the Disney Store. That's about it, unless somebody has outgrown their shorts or sandals from the previous summer.

:laundy:I will only buy new clothes if I see something that i cant resist, i never buy new shoes to wear to disney, because they get dirty too easily.:thumbsup2
