Do you buy new clothes for your vacations?

I have to admit, it never occurred to me that vacations were a reason to go clothes shopping, unless there was something I specifically needed! For instance, I did decide I wanted a beach cover-up for our trip, which was a pain looking in December since they were all the expensive ones. But, I figure vacation clothes are way too likely to get trashed, so I don't plan on bringing new stuff - and I avoid white shirts like the plague.

Everybody always gets new socks! Since we are on our feet all day, the new socks offer just a tad bit more comfort.

The kids (dd-12; ds-8)get some new stuff, but it is because they need it, whether we were going on vacation or not. I did get a couple of white shirts for ds and he is not allowed to wear until we get to Disney and then he can wear for the summer after (our trip is in June.) If it were in August, the other time we usually go, I would of just bought 2 white shirts and let him wear one and the other I would of kept until our trip.

The kids also get new sneakers (us too), but I usually buy them a couple of months before so they have ample time to break them in before the trip.

I start like 6 months in advance buying new clothes yes, I am a freak!!

everyone gets 4 or 5 new outfits, a new bathing suit with new crocs.
anda package of socks. Each and every time.

Yes! We go in March so all of my kids summer clothes from the year before doesn't fit anymore. They get all new clothes. DS is older so some of his stuff will still fit so we will take a few things from the year before for him but 90% of it is new.

I get a few new things and so does DH.

When planning for vacation, I budget for new clothes. Everybody has to have at least one or two new outfits. We're all together doing something special in one of our favorite places, new clothes are totally in order!

I thought I was the only one who did this...LOL. My husband thinks I'm crazy for thinking of it. We go in Dec and I'm thinking once sept hits I'm going to go to the Disney Store Outlet here and see what they still have and what's on sale. I've lost 35lbs in 5months, and I plan on continuing to lose for a while (I have another 35 I want gone). SO, I will have to have new clothes for the trip as the ones I wore a few months ago are already falling down I can only imagine a few months more of losing. My kids are still growing like weeds and I know that they will need new clothing too so they are going to get some cool Disney shirts from the outlet, and maybe some shorts. Hubby can do what he wants. We will probably all get new shoes/crocs/etc. Back in Feb when we went we had just had Christmas and the kids got TONS of new clothes and jammies so that is what we took with us for them (lol none of which I bought).

I do have a question though for you all...

Have you all ever made/bought matching shirts for everyone to wear on the same day? I was thinking of making us all shirts that say "Watson Family Celebration" on the front and 09 on the back (kind of like a jersey). Its hard to describe exactly what I'm talking about...ugh. We are celebrating my hubby's return from the sandbox, and my youngests 2nd birthday and we are making it big since my hubby missed his Birth and 1st Birthday. I was thinking it would be cool to have us all dressed in similar shirts for at least one day for pics.

We don't buy ALL new clothes but we buy several new outfits, socks, undies, swimsuits etc
