We are trying to decide which character meal to do. Do any of them serve fried chicken? Also, which character breakfasts have Mickey waffles and good scrambled eggs? Thanks. Debby
Chef Mickey's has Mickey waffles, but they are more of a Belgian waffle. My kids didn't eat them because they were too hard. Crystal Palace has Pooh waffles that are more of a traditional waffle.
Not to mention the best value at WDW. $11 bucks for breakfast/lunch and $17 for dinner.
They also allow you to get it "to go" (very unusual for a buffet!) - they give you a large container for the hot stuff, a large container for the salad and with that 2-3 people could have a VERY nice picnic on just one "take out" order if budget is an issue, or you just aren't that hungry! They are also notorious for giving away food at the end of the night - I know someone who did take-out once for his family camping out and they gave him a HUGE stack of fried chicken and wanted to give him more hehe.
It's just a nice boat ride from the MK - can be a very nice way to spend a couple of hours during the heat and crowds of mid-day at MK.
An idea if you want to see characters but still have chicken: Have dinner at the Trail's End Buffet, then walk down to the Campfire Program where Chip & Dale are signing autographs and meeting everyone, while you sing around a big campfire! After the fire, they show a movie on the outdoor screen! It's a fun, relaxing way to spend an evening. And - it's free for WDW resort guests!
Thanks everyone. I guess we will have to do a character meal without the fried chicken. We went to Trail's End last time and they had great fried chicken. We are not staying onsite since we own a few timeshares and it is cheaper to use those than to stay onsite. Last time we were lucky enough to trade into the Beach Club Villas. Anyway, if we are not staying onsite, does that mean we won't be able to attend the campfire or does it just mean we will have to pay to go? If we have to pay, what is the charge? Thanks. Debby
I believe that you can just park at the Fort Wilderness parking lot and take the bus back to the campfire. We sometimes don't stay onsite, but my DD loves the various activities at FW (hayrides, ponyrides, campfire, petting zoo, HDDR) we've never had to pay or state if we were staying onsite or not. Enjoy!
