DisneyStore - Make Your Own Messenger Bag?

Freepixie,

Can't wait to hear your review of the diaper bag backpack. I am much more of a backpack person than a messenger style person, so I'm dying to hear your review.

My main questions--how well do the straps adjust? How big is it? (Photos of it ON you would be great if you wouldn't mind!!) If you could take pictures of the INSIDES of the compartments, I would be eternally grateful! Also, it looks like there are mesh pockets on the sides...I'm thinking water bottles...can you please verify if regular 16oz water bottles would fit in there?

Thanks so much!

Chris

I received mine yesterday--black with Mickey on it. It's bigger than I thought in person and I'm not sure if I will carry it in the parks. I can take it on the plane though. I also bought a red mickey canvas tote and duffle bags for my boys--navy with mickey and blue with pluto.

Ordered mine Thursday and got email this morning that it shipped and should arrive on Monday. Thinking about ordering 2 more for my Mom and DS7.

What do you think, Susan - script or block?

Smartypants. :rotfl2:

I am still debating this. Now I can take that as a sign that since I am still thinking about it, I probably do need it. And there's a new code. Yeah!

:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: That is toooo funny... but I like blocked best always as you can see it from farther away. I needed this today. I spent a week in the hospital with my son and clicked on to find this waiting. Made me feel like I was really back home.

Umm... by the way AnastasiaTremaine, you might want to decide before all the colors are gone.... PM me if you need me to help you think of some more great name ideas. hahaha :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

I used my new bag at MK yesterday and it worked really well. I was able to pack everything I need.....plus a few things I didn't and there was still room left over. The strap was also very comfortable for me as well. Something that I don't usually like on most bags. It rained most of the time I was at the park yesterday, so it was very easy/nice to be able to switch the bag around under my rain poncho to get into it. Much easier that the backpack I usually bring.:cool1:

Thanks again OP:worship:

Has anybody spotted other people in the parks with these bags? :)

Yes I will definately give my review once I get it - should be arriving tomorrow! YAY! And I'll take pics but it will take me a day or 2 to get them loaded to the net.

And I know what you mean, I'm so much more of a backpack person than a messenger bag person also! I'm nuts for backpacks, I think I own 5, now this one will make 6!

Well we just got back from our trip and I have to say I am dissappointed by this bag. Thank goodness I took my baggalinni because both my moms and my bags ripped. My mom used hers as a purse on the airplane and the little pocket on the front where the cell phone pouch is ripped. Then the entire front area ripped fraying the whole area. Her bag was useless the rest of the trip. Mine lasted for 2 days ripping in almost the exact same location as hers.

I am going to email Disneyshopping. The bags were not very expensive but they definatly should last longer than 2 days.

Not sure if others will have this problem but I would take a back up bag with you just in case.

I agree. I bought 3,1 for dw and 2 for dds,and only 1 of the three made it back from our 5 day trip this past week.I think if you only carried guidemaps and tix they would survive, but if you put your camera and wallet and use the water bottle pouches they just can't take it. We will probably go back to our old stand by bags for the next trip.

I did not even put my camera in it. I had a small pack of baby wipes, wallet, ipod, sunglasses and cellphone and it could not even hold those things.

I just emailed to see if I could return them still.

I just got back from Wal-Mart where I found a mini lime green backpack on sale for $9! I didn't want the messenger bag b/c I thought it was too large. I think my Wal-Mart cheapie will be great!:thumbsup2

That is not good news. :sad2: That means that all the usual stuff I put in my bag will make this bag rip. I can't believe they didn't hold up. Thanks for the info though. Let us know what disneyshopping says. I know you can call them too. I have called them because they messed up my personalization.

Oh gosh, this might bring new orders to a screeching halt...

I used mine for the first time Saturday night. I took it to a hotel with my make up and a few other things in it for an overnight stay. My clothes and shoes were in Hubby Dude's suitcase so this was literally just a brush, toothpaste, toothbrush, makeup and my moisturizer. The bag ripped. I went to pull apart the velcro on an inside pocket and the dividing piece of fabric ripped away from the velcro, the velcro stayed closed. I'm not going to try to return them. I'll just use them until they fall apart. I'm definately not going to try to use it as my park bag though. I'm glad I bought a bagallini too.

I ordered two last week, one for myself and the other for my BFF as a gift. They arrived here today at work and one of my co-workers and I are really trying to figure out where they're could possibly be falling apart from. We've pulled and tugged to see how strong the bag itself is and we feel like the bag will hold up fairly well. I don't understand where some of the last few posters have said they've fallen apart at after one or two days of carrying pretty light weight items. :confused3

Like others have said after they received them-they are a bit bigger than I expected and they seem like they're pretty good quality. I'm hoping that mine not only hold up during our trip but a while after that. We're not due to leave for another 3 weeks, so I'll let you guys know how the hold up.

I just talked to someone from Disneyshopping because they messed up my personalization, and I needed to get a new one.

While I was doing this I asked if my messenger bag was to tear if they would replace it. She told me yes and that all I had to do was just call. She said they would send out a replacement and also send UPS to pick up the torn one.

So for those that have bags that have torn, you can call and get a new one. The number is 1-800-328-0368.

Edit: By sending out UPS, I meant they will send you a pre-paid UPS label by mail. They don't actually send out a UPS truck. You have to use the label they send to mail it back to them by UPS.

Thanks for asking and posting the number. :)

I'm getting a bit worried reading about these quality issues, as my bags went out for delivery this morning from UPS.

The inside pockets are ripping and coming apart, not the bag itself. :)

I got my backpack today!! :yay: YAY!! :yay:

Anyhow, I will take pics tonight and try and get them loaded tomorrow when I have access to DSL...

The bag itself is not 100% black, its more of a navy-black but its fine for me! The straps are adjustable, quite long, and are padded. Also on the straps are a silver light-reflective material stripe down the middle. There are mesh pockets on the outside on both sides for bottled water or pop. There are 2 large zippered sections, very roomy, and each have 2 mesh pockets on the insides. There is a smaller zippered section directly behind the embroidery that also has a mesh pocket. And finally one more very small zipper section below the embroidery that has a mesh pocket, a cellphone pocket and a cord to attach keys to. All in all it seems very high-quality, ranking up there with my Jansport backpack. Oh and a diaper changing mat was included, but I pitched it since I dont' need it lol!

My backpack has the cutie Mickey as well as my last name in block lettering.

I love this bag, and will post pics tomorrow to share with all :goodvibes
