Three Things...Gratitude Thread

Love castles

I have been fortune enough to be at DISNEY several times for Earth Day and they always do a huge sand castle and I have enjoyed tremendously seeing the sand castles they are absolutely gorgeous is such a beautiful talented thing they’re not always castles they’ve been animals they’ve been all kinds of things but they are just absolutely gorgeous I’m so grateful I’ve gotten to see those

Dover Castle i’m so grateful that I got to see a real castle and get to go in it and tour it it was just so cool to be in a real castle and think about the people back in the day that used to live in this castle it was just really cool

Windsor Castle & Tower of London again extremely lucky unfortunate to get to see those castles too I’m a huge history fan so I guess was just over the moon happy to see real castles 🏰 Very grateful

Magic Kingdom Castle 🏰 That’s my favorite castle it’s actually the first one I’ve ever seen and I enjoy seeing it every time I see it❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️

Castles is an interesting one!

1. Disney - an obvious one, but you can't think of Disney without picturing or thinking of a castle.

2. 25th Anniversary Cake Castle - this was at Disney the first time I ever visited back in 1997 and it will always hold a special place in my heart and is the castle I remember most vividly.

3. Bran Castle - I was fortunate enough to travel to Romania a few years ago and visit "the home" of Count Dracula. It was a beautiful place, incredibly scenic and such a nice place to visit.

Sand and castles
1. The huge sand box I had as a kid. I spent hours in it everyday. It was straight out the back door and under an even bigger sugar maple tree that provided shade all day and was also home to my tire swing. Those were the days.

2. St. Pete's Beach, where DH took me for the second half of our honeymoon. The first time I ever got to see the coast, put my feet in salt water, pick up shells, and walk on the beach at sunset. ❤️

3. Cinderella's Castle at MK. DH took me to WDW for the first half of our honeymoon week. MK is my favorite park. You just can't beat the view of Cinderella's Castle all the way down Main Street. Especially at night with all lights on. ❤️ So many fond memories there with him and the kids.

4. Nags Head. A family trip with DH's parents and sister many years ago. DH and I built a huge sand castle, took many walks, and flew kites. Great memories.

Castles on the Hudson River valley seen from the USMA...and grateful there are no flying 🐒 🐒 🐒 🐒 monkies 🏰🏰🏰🏰 or 🧹🧹🧹🧹 brooms of any significance

Osborne Castle, Garrison New York
Sits on the very top of the bear mountain range area and folklore that it was the model for the movie 🎥 🎥 🍿 🎥 🎥

Bannerman Castle sits in the middle of the Hudson River and has an amazing history and I think is seen out the window of 🎥🎥🎥🎥Hitchcock North by Northwest as the train travel past USMA West point... for sure the castle 🏰 🏰 features of USMA is seen in the movie where I worked on the street level... never went to the top as I had a different place to view the river

...bows and flows of angel hair
And ice cream castles in the air

Today's Topics (Sun, 8/3) -

It's National Georgia Day, so if that's your state (or a favorite vacation spot) please tell us what you're grateful for about it!

Otherwise (still inspired by Georgia) - 3 things you're grateful for that begin with the letter G.

Not my state but …..
Georgia Peaches 🍑
I believe there may be a couple streets named after peaches 🤣🤣🤣🤣

I had an Aunt in Macon we visited when I was a kid - she was a lot of fun !! Fond memories of visiting her

I needed a special item once driving home from Disney and was in a small town hitting up local grocery stores as I could not local a Walgreens or a Walmart- I must say Georgia has some of the friendliest & most helpful strangers around!! I’m not talking employees in the stores I’m talking people in the parking lot !!

I second flyingdumbo127, God, Grace, and Grandma and Grandpa's.

1. Gratitude- because it shows us each that we are all well blessed every day.
2. Great Aunts- because I am a great aunt to the most adorable great niece who has brought joy to this family after so much sadness. ❤️
3. Goofy- my most favorite Disney character.

Happy Sunday Friends!

#1 - THE GOSPEL MESSAGE - I look forward to not only hearing the Gospel at Mass, but also when I listen to The Catholic Channel

#2 - GLASSES - I’m always grateful for my glasses to help me see better with less eye strain.

#3 - GOALS - I’m always grateful that I have goals to strive to achieve. I always taught my girls to always set goals and work hard to achieve them.

Afternoon everyone!

1. Gin - a drink I've learned to love and appreciate especially during the summer months. Especially the flavoured versions with ginger ale or beer, and a relatively low cal/healthy alcoholic option compared to others.

2. Grandparents - my grandparents are no longer with us but they feature in a lot of the fond memories I have of my childhood. My mum's parents I especially spent a lot of time with, and they're the reason why I love sweet treats, garden centres and going out for a coffee and a cake so much 😋

3. Games - board, card, even console, games have always been a huge part of my life and something I always associate with happy times with friends and family. Even something as simple as playing Heads Up to while away time in queues always brings me so much joy.

I left my home in Georgia (Oregon)
Headed for the Frisco Bay

Sittin on the dock of the Bay
Sittin in the morning sun

I'll be sittin when the even come

Otis Redding is a Georgia native
GOSPEL music was his youth

When riding Amtrak south I go to sit in the GLASS roof observation car when the docks of the Frisco Bay are the early morning scenery and hear Otis Redding in my memory

AND will still be sittin in my coach seat when the evening come into LA
