Resort Thread Disney's YACHT & BEACH CLUB Resorts

We are staying at the BC 8/24 thru 9/3. Some days we will spend the first half of the day around the pool. We have a 13, 13 and 7 year old. Do they have things for them to do around the pool area. Is it mostly swimming/slides or are there activities?

Yes Netting has been put in place. I have seen pictures of it at the GF and at the Poly. Since the fences were the same, I believe the addition of the netting is also the same

I was just at the Beach Club and yes they have netting, they did have the beach open during the day but you could not go on it at night.[/QUOTE]

Pic from the Poly. Assuming it looks the same everywhere?
Here is one from the Beach Club. It is kind of blurry because I cropped it trying to get a close up of the fence.

Hi everyone,

I'm trying to figure out a couple of things for my upcoming trip (10/27-11/7), a split stay with the second half of it (probably 11/2-11/7) at the Beach or Yacht Club.
In an earlier post I mentioned there were no rooms available through the Disney website at the YC for those dates so we figured we'd go for the BC.

Now, a friend recommended I try an agent and I got an excellent price quote for the YC (they didn't even have BC rooms available). It seems almost too cheap!
Is this because of the refurb work going on? Would you guys take a chance on it?
I've looked through as many refurb posts as I could find but I don't see much information on what will be in future months.

As I'm a first timer to these resorts, I'd love your opinion :)
Thank you!

Could you post the name of this agency... My husband and I would love to try the Yacht Club this fall!

This is good news! I don't know if anyone remembers this, but I stayed at the BC numerous time in the 1990's and Beaches and Cream was open then for quick service breakfast.

We used to buy breakfast at Beaches and Cream and take it back to the room for the kids to eat while everyone got ready in the morning. :)

We were there during the Beaches & Cream breakfast trial, July 2009.

Does the room request, close to elevator, mean the main elevator? We want to be close to lobby, but there is no selection for lobby.

Hope this works...my first post ever!

I'm sorry, I don't know the answer to your question, but I wanted to say welcome to the DIS. I'm glad you found this thread. It's an excellent source of information and probably one of the nicest threads on the boards. Have a great trip!
