Resort Thread Disney's YACHT & BEACH CLUB Resorts

Hi everyone,

I'm trying to figure out a couple of things for my upcoming trip (10/27-11/7), a split stay with the second half of it (probably 11/2-11/7) at the Beach or Yacht Club.
In an earlier post I mentioned there were no rooms available through the Disney website at the YC for those dates so we figured we'd go for the BC.

Now, a friend recommended I try an agent and I got an excellent price quote for the YC (they didn't even have BC rooms available). It seems almost too cheap!
Is this because of the refurb work going on? Would you guys take a chance on it?
I've looked through as many refurb posts as I could find but I don't see much information on what will be in future months.

As I'm a first timer to these resorts, I'd love your opinion :)
Thank you!

It may seem cheap, and it may have something to do with work at the resort, but the Agency that does those deals books rooms like a convention, and they are willing to share in the savings in booking a ton of rooms. I used that Agency several times, and will again this fall. I had no trouble. They gave me my Disney number immediately, and had no issue linking the reservation to my account, and no issue at the hotels or with tickets. For what it's worth, we like the style of the YC more than the Beach Club, and we really appreciated being the first to be picked up by the bus and dropped off when going to the MK early one morning. The bus normally goes to YC before BC.

We will be at Yacht Club in 28 days!!! After changing my early morning flight on 7/28 to an evening flight on 7/27 I needed a home. I booked the Hyatt, BUT I can't imagine NOT waking up in Disney. So we have 2 rooms (hopefully connecting but if not it's okay) at YC GV on 7/27, then in the morning we will drop our bags at bell services at BWI, hit the Innkeepers Club for breakfast and come back and do some SAB swimming!!!! SO EXCITED!!!!!!!!!!

Tried to sneak that one in, did you?

I'll add you to the Be Our Guest list.

:woohoo:

BTW- I have my eraser posed to edit your December trip since your dates have changed.

Hi, please add us to Be Our Guest. We will be at the YC (garden view)for the first time 10/2-4 for F&W. It will be just DH and I for a little "us" time and meet-up with Florida friends.

I'm aware that room requests are just that. Is there a room or area that is preferable? Please let me know.
Thanks!

:welcome: back!

Will do!

:cool1:

Hi! We will have our first BC stay October 28 - November 1. We just got back from WDW. Spent June 4-12 at Poly. We had such a great time that we wanted to plan another trip. I thought we would try an Epcot resort this time and BC looks like a great place. We can't wait!

:welcome:

I'll add you to the Be Our Guest list we keep on Page 1.

:cool2:

helenb...best post ever! I have been looking for something like this. I am staying deluxe room congierge next year and was trying to verify if there were only 6 rooms in that category....there are. thank you

:welcome:

When is your trip?

Here are some descriptions of the 6 BC Deluxe Rooms. At least prior to the room renovations. Not sure if anything has changed in the rooms since then.

Detailed balcony information on Deluxe Concierge Rooms from guests who have stayed there and reported back:

There are six deluxe Concierge rooms at BC.

1557 has a patio and lots of windows.
2557 and 4557 have extra large balconies.
3557 has the standing room only balcony.

3691 has both a standing room balcony and a full balcony
4681 has a standing room only balcony.

So 3 of the 6 have full balconies, 1 has a patio, and 2 have standing room only balconies.

:thumbsup2

I'll be on my way in about 19 hours! Let me know if anyone needs any current info or pictures or if anyone has any questions I can try to get answers to!

Hope you have an incredible trip!!!

I have a wish list, somewhere, of pictures/info I want. I guess it is a "Wish I could find it" list now.

A couple of things if you see this and are able to fulfill the requests without interfering in the enjoyment of your vacation:

Current pool hours

Soft drink dispensers at the Marketplace and/or Hurricane Hanna's

I am working on getting the July activities schedule, but my source has not released it yet. You will probably be at the resort before I can post it for you.

:goodvibes

We will be at BC in 62 days. :yay:
Im trying to figure out the best way to handle the Soarin, Frozen, Test track thing. I have an 820am adr for garden grill thinking that will at least get us in the park early and close to Soarin and I'm hoping for a fp for Frozen. Then I guess we will head to Test Track after Soarin?
Oh and since we will walk to the IG to enter Epcot about what time should we head over to make our adr? Thanks so much! :disrocks:

I would give yourself at least fifteen minutes to get through the International Gateway and over to the Garden Grill. But if your ADR is for 8:20am you probably won't be finished before 9am. Those character buffets usually take a little while, since you have to wait for the characters to circulate to your table.

I've been catching up, so a little late with these comments)
Thanks.

This was a spur of the moment weekend trip. My wife and I are AP holders from the midwest. I checked for FP for Frozen first thing in the morning at the 30 day mark, and they were available. After getting the Frozen FP, we decided to stay close ot EPCOT, and YC had the best rate. Now I need to figure out our air transportation.

I love how you've planned your trip - FP+ first, then room and now flights! :rotfl:

32 days away till our family of 4 and 2 extra kids= 6 total arrive at BCV. We are driving down from the south suburbs of Chicago. Plan to drive 15 hours the first day(leaving home at 12midnight). First night staying in Valdosta Ga. Was wondering how many tolls we will hit once we enter Florida? We plan on buying a sunpass at first welcome center. Also does anyone know how much each toll will cost?

Just a little tip (and you may already know this) make sure to take advantage of the HOV lanes through Atlanta! The ones along 75 are not yet toll.

I hear you! I had scheduled a PPO ADR at GG, too. But then I read a post over at easyWDW (http://www.easywdw.com/easy/blog/so...es-fastpass-availability-strategy-and-review/) about how to rope drop EPCOT, and I have questioned my strategy. I actually secured a second ADR for later in the morning with the thought that we'd rope drop TT get FP+ for FEA and either do stand-by or rope drop Soarin' another morning. Once I make my FPs I'll decide which ADR to keep.

We had an 8:15 ADR last week and entered through IG. We were there around 7:40 and were let in at 7:53. There were about 5-6 other families in front of us. We got to GG a few minutes after 8:00 and were seated before our 8:15 ADR. We didn't rush through our meal but finished before 9:00. As we were exiting GG, the masses were entering the building for Soarin'. We didn't make it to the front of the line, but we only had a 10-15 minute wait and were quite happy with that. I should mention that people had to have been let into the park before 9:00 because we exited the restaurant and were in line for Soarin' right at 9:00.

Enjoy GG. It was our favorite meal of the whole trip. The food was excellent and the character interaction was great!

Thanks y'all!
I'm still on the lookout for an 8am adr and obviously everything hinges on getting the frozen fp. Just a few more days until I can nail it all down. :scared:

We'll be staying at Beach Club from 11th to 26th October for the first time. In fact it's our first time staying on any Disney property. This forum has been invaluable to me, thank you all for taking the time to be so helpful and friendly!

It won't be your last time! ;)

Welcome!

We will be staying at BC 12/17-23. First time at Beach Club. Stayed at CSR previously. We aren't coming specifically for the Christmas activities, but should we make time for them anyway? My boys barely remember the first time we came, so I was planning to focus on the essential Disney sights.

There are a lot of Christmas activities in Epcot that will be perfect for you to see while staying at the BC. There are also gorgeous resort decorations with one of my very favorite ones being the chocolate carousel in the BC lobby. The YC has a train display which I am looking forward to seeing when we are there in December.

Walk around to the Yacht club side as well. They set up a really nice tree in the lobby and it's a really cool setup with the way the room is themed. It's a good spot for a nice holiday photo.

Ditto....The BC Christmas decorations are beautiful, but YC's are spectacular. They fit and fill the space so beautifully!
Also, don't miss BWI's decorations either for a really elegant blast from the past. It took me back to my Grandmother's Christmas decorations and soundtrack.
