Resort Thread Disney's YACHT & BEACH CLUB Resorts

Hey everyone! We are headed to the beach club in March. I was hoping for a first floor room with a daybed. We have a garden view. Can anyone tell me if rooms 1575 or 1569 have daybeds? We have a 9 yo girl and 7 yo boy who would rather not sleep together.

Dee, can you please remove us from the Be Our Guest list in April :(

Had breakfast at Boma a few weeks ago and kids begged to stay there. So we have switched resorts for our post-cruise night.

This just means I need to plan another trip to get back to YC!!

Thanks :)

I just checked the BC Room View thread and these two rooms are not there with descriptions.

Best bet to get what you need in a room is to list your preferences on your reservation request:

"First floor room with daybed, please. Children with opposite genders"

Will do.

If I had the opportunity to stay at Boma, I would, too! Love it there!

;)

Oh, you mean AKL? Variety is the spice of life and I can't blame the kids for wanting to wake up to giraffes. Have a zebra dome for me!

As always, we hope you stick around for the fun and games here.

They're working on the fence now and it's about 75% complete. The biggest detractor will be the fence that now separates the first villas from access to the pool. On many occasions I have seen families walk right out of their rooms to the pool. It's not a lot of rooms but I'm sure folks liked the easy access.

From the look of it, I can't tell if they're going to completely close off the pool or if they're just fencing off the greenery so people can't cut through the plants. I'm right above the fence work (literally) and it doesn't look like they're preparing for a gate. At the 'doorway' end of the current section, the fence seems to follow the planter. I've attached some pics (taken from my balcony just now) for a second opinion. :-)IMG_0187.JPG IMG_0188.JPGIMG_0189.JPG

If I had to guess/bet, and based upon what has been done at the other resorts, there will be a gate at each and every entrance. :confused3

Hmmm. That will make getting to the parking lot from this end of the building more complicated. Right now, you can go out that entryway, which is right by the elevators, then cut through the pool area to get to the parking lot. With gates, and no path on that side, that won't be as easy any more.

Thank you!!! I really appreciate your help and clarification.

So the room to the right of that is 5161? And then the small balcony under the arch, as well as the full balcony to the right of that are both part of the Admiral Suite?

:goodvibes
Yes, as usual your first instincts were 100% correct on both of your questions.

Funny that you viewed the layout from the left and I viewed the hallway layout from the right, the Admiral Suite is labeled as room 5157, the center of what would be a group of 3 odd room numbers: 5155, 5157, 5159 and leaving physical room for 2 more rooms to the left of it. Rooms 5161 (Water View Full Balcony) and 5163 (Garden View with no balcony).

Note to others: Rooms 5155 and 5159 do not actually exist and are only used for a logical space reference!

I would imagine the gates will be closer to the pool itself and the parking lot walkway will be open to the center set of doors at BCV, but yep, what a pain if you want to walk to the entrance near the BC end through the pool area. State laws can be a pain sometimes. . .:headache:

The fence is up on that half of the pool, and it snugs up against the patios on that side. There's no walkway between that door and the parking lot, only the pool deck. Unless they add another fence and make the pool deck smaller?

Ha ha, yes, I meant AKL :)

Though staying at Boma would be even better....

Will definitely be sticking around....and looking for ways to get back!

Isn't there a set of doors just beyond that end of the pool? I seem to recall there are entryways to the villas there (center), at the end of the building nearest BC as well as one closest to the parking lot. That central doorway would allow entrance to the building for those housed in the center section while the others at the BC end would have the "lobby" area where the concierge is located to enter and those at the far end near the parking lot yet another entrance. It would be the BC end (which it appears your villa is located) that would be most cut off from the parking lot since you would have to pass through the pool area OR walk the hallways through the building. Then again, I could be wrong about the center section doorway. :guilty:

Just wanted to share a short note on our recent trip. We were a family of 5 staying at Beach Club 12/23-26. We had spent one night at Port Orleans on the 22nd. We had nice stay even with a sick teen. The folks at Beach Club were very helpful in dealing with our mini-drama. They helped us with finding a clinic on Christmas Eve that provided transportation. I called from the clinic and asked if we could have the room cleaned right away so when we returned we could put her to bed, no problem it was taken care of. They helped us with a wheelchair that we kept for our stay, as we got her feeling better she was too weak to walk, but did great in the chair. Overall very happy with our stay and the help we received. A few other mini notes. We did order from Prime Now, there was some confusion with getting the order because someone had not logged the package in when it arrived but with some polite persistence they were able to find it pretty quickly. Back entrance even on the busy days was great and no wait. Luggage moved from Port Orleans went great. This was our 4th stay the Yacht and Beach Club, 3rd for Beach Club. We love the location and the pool. After this trip would have no problem planning a 5th stay.

We changed dates - can you update the Be Our Guest list? It will now be July 7-16 at the Yacht Club. Thank you!

Thanks for posting your comments.

I'm sorry to hear your daughter was sick, but it is good to know that you feel the situation was handled well by the resort when you asked for assistance.

I went on the DVC Member website to see what it had to say about capacity.

On the page where it describes the resort, it says that the Studio sleeps up to 5 and the 1-bedroom sleeps up to 4.

But when you go to the page where you are actually making a reservation, it says that the Studio sleeps 4 (even though the description on that page says 1 queen-size bed & 1 double-size sleeper sofa, 1 pull-down bunk size bed) and it says that the 1-bedroom sleeps 4- 5th guest can be accommodated, but please note that NO ADDITIONAL BEDDING, LINENS OR TOWELS WILL BE PROVIDED (1 king-size bed and 1 queen-size sleeper sofa).

I am reporting what the DVC Member website says, so please don't tell me that I'm wrong. I realize that this might not match the experience that people actually had when they made a DVC reservation online or by phone.

I went to disneyworld.com to see what it had to say about the DVC villas for cash reservations. It showed that the studio sleeps up to 5 adults and the 1-bedroom sleeps up to 4 adults.

On a random day that I searched for, the 1-bedroom would show up if I searched for 4 people; it would not show up if I searched for 5 people. The studio would show up if I searched for 4 people or 5 people.
