Resort Thread Disney's YACHT & BEACH CLUB Resorts

Ok, let's start the new year off with some awesome news.....

img_6134.jpg

(Clearly I believe in cutting to the chase.)

On 12/30, my DBF, (some of you know him as Tom, some know him as JNPants here on the board-he will hereafter be referred to as "DF"), asked me to marry him after 10 years of dating. He presented me with a beautiful watch to mark the occasion, and the next day we picked out matching rings.
Everyone is asking us if we'll having a Disney wedding, and the short answer is, no, but since we live in New England, and will hopefully get married near the water, I'm hoping the SAB Precision Swim/Dive team can put on a show that involves spelling out our names, and a rough image of the front porte cochere, so we can feel like we're at BC. NinjaMom, can you get on this? I'm leaving this up to you.
:beach:
Congratulation!!!!! So happy for you both.

Of course, I can't find the link to it now, but I read on the Boardwalk thread that they are no longer doing the tours. This was in October or November, so would be several pages to go through, and they may restart them as several people were disappointed it was gone and may have complained. Just thought I'd let you know.
Sorry to hear this. I enjoyed the one I went on. And at the end they gave everyone a free scoop of vanilla ice cream. I hope they start them up again so others can enjoy the tour.

Questions! Questions! Questions!

Stormalong Bay hours for December 2016 and January 2017

The quiet pools are now fenced in. Are the hours still 7 am to 11 pm? Is the gate physically locked while the pools are closed?

Does anyone know the status of the poolside locker room and showers at SAB?

Am I correct in assuming the BCV studios may now be booked for 5 guests? Is that true for both cash and points reservations? Is the occupancy for the 1BR villas still 4?

As always, thanks to the awesome minions here on the thread.

I can answer one question. The BCV studios can be booked for 5 guests. We booked it on a points reservation by renting points, so I don't know for sure about cash, but we were able to add my son on about 3 or 4 weeks ago. We leave tomorrow morning and can't wait to arrive!!

Yes to this one. I had a studio booked for MLK weekend and was waiting to see when they added the 5th person. I saw it was listed as 5 on the website so I called a couple of weeks ago to add my friends who are staying with us and they accepted the 5th person. You may have to push as the cast member didn't think she could but I told her to try and it worked.

The Villas quiet pool is not fenced in. The hours are posted as 7-11 or something like that, but I've definitely seen people swimming after 11 this week.

Thank you! I made the switch :) But if a Yacht Club room pops up I'll be confused again.

Thanks for your help - and I'm enjoying your trip report, too!

I don't currently have you on the Be Our Guest list for April, so I will add you.

:cool1:

Thanks for the kind words about my trip report. I need to get back to it in the next day or so, after I get caught up here.

:goodvibes

This forum is always so helpful so I have a quick question...Does Flower & Garden make Epcot more crowded on weekends the way Food & Wine does? We had scheduled our Epcot day on a Saturday and I'm wondering if I should change it or if we'll be fine.

BUMP!

I have never been to Disney during Flower & Garden so I don't know the answer. My guess is that it is busy on weekends but not as crazy as weekends are for Food & Wine.

Can anyone with actual experience comment?

::yes::

We're checking in in a few days for our first BC stay, and I have two last minute questions:
1) We will be arriving early (9:30?) and taking MDE. We have an Epcot day planned. I don't expect our room to be ready, but we may have a carry on or two that we don't want to take to the park. Will the desk hold things for us? We're flying with little ones so we'll have toys and such.

2) Are we allowed to bring floaties for the kids from home? We have both Puddle Jumpers and inflatables. Or are they available there? We'll see how the weather is, but I don't want to have to buy one or hold the 1 y/o in arms the whole time if we do go in.

Thanks!!! We're excited for our first stay!

:welcome:

As others have indicated, yes you can leave bags at Bell services while you are enjoying the parks.

Traditional life jackets are available at all of the pools. My understanding is that it is fine for you to have a very young child in floaties and/or an inflatable the child can sit in as long as there is an adult within arms length.

Hi - is there a quick way to find out which standard view club level rooms have full balconies? I'm specifically wondering about 5675, 5677, 5679, 5681, 5680, and 5682. Thanks!

:welcome: to the thread!

Not really a way I can think of. I looked at both the old and new maps we have showing room view descriptions, but they don't include info about balconies or daybeds. I also looked at the BC Room View thread (on the Community Resorts Subforum) and only one of those rooms has been included.

ETA: I did a little digging in my files and according to the notes I have, there are 37 or 38 BC CL SV rooms and 5 of them have the smaller balconies. Not sure which 3. BUT...

I have an indication that these are the 8 rooms at the BC club level that have the smaller balconies- I'm not sure what the source was, someone posted the info and I saved it:

The following club level fifth floor rooms do NOT have full balconies:

5648, 5662, 5664, 5692, 5726, 5685, 5687 and 5727.

Please add a couple more trips for '17...
End of the 2016-17 school year cruise on Disney Dream and 6/2-6/3 BCV...
Sweet 16 surprise for DD...11/3-11/7 BCV

:welcome: back and back!

I'll add your trips to the list.

:woohoo:

Add us to the list for this Summer. We're going back June 25-July 1. Proposed to my family that we visit NYC or Washington DC but they acted like I was nuts. So.....back to WDW and the BC we will go.

:welcome: back!

Will do!

Don't wait until the day before you leave, ask the day you check in at the front desk for late check out - usually they'll give you until 1pm free of charge....
While it's helpful advice to suggest asking for a late check-out earlier, there really is no telling what the answer will be. They might offer a 12:00pm instead of a 1:00pm or they may say "Not possible, sorry."
I don't think there is any usual answer to this question.

Sorry if I missed this info, does anyone know if room 5161 YC has a full balcony? I know most rooms at YC do, but don't want to assume this one does. Thanks for any help.

17 more days until our family and friends trip to the Beach Club trip. My son, daughter in law and their friends are not telling their kids until they get up that morning and they won't know they are going together until they all reach the airport. It is going to be quite the scene at the Nashville aiport on the morning of the 21st! I am looking forward to seeing the looks on the little one's faces.

I believe it does. The only room I know at the YC without a full balcony is (next door) Room 5163.

Someone please correct me if I am mistaken.
