Actually 3701 is a Standard View room. You look directly out at the room at the roof and the adjoining wing of the BC. However, you can also see parts of SAB and even the Swan in the Distance.

That is correct and I didn't mean to seem misleading. There's plenty of rooftop visible but I can see parts of SAB, BW and Swan and Dolphin. Frankly, I'm thrilled to not be over the resort entrance!

I hope you are enjoying your trip. Wish Ethan's break was 2 weeks later and we would have been at the same resort!!!!

They were taken down Thursday night/ Friday morning. I saw them wrapping things up around 6:00 am on Friday morning.

No worries and thanks for your input/feedback during your trip. It takes a lot of dedication on your part to post while you are on vacation! In your initial post you even indicated that you would post pictures later which would have clarified the details of your view for other guests.

I hope you are able to make the best of your vacation with the current poor vacation weather and we look forward to your feedback after you get back!

Note to other: Regular posters here just try to help clarify expectations where possible, the general room recommendation for all guests is to book the "View" of what you expect to see out your window/balcony if it is an important or key aspect of your vacation. There is always the change of Pixie dust but somebody has to get the last room by the elevators, ice/vending/laundry/service noise or even a view of a wall from time to time.

I have a couple of questions that I am hoping someone can help me with. 1) I have been trying to make an ADR for Captain's Grille for May 18 but keep getting a message that no tables are available. Is there going to be a refurb going on during that time or is there just a glitch in the reservation system? I can't imagine that there would be no tables available this far out. 2) Is there bus service from YC to Disney Springs and if so, how often does it run? I would like to go to HOB for the Gospel Brunch and was just wondering what to expect for travel time. Thanks in advance for any info.

I read on this thread, or perhaps the restaurant thread, that others were having difficulty booking Captain's Grille for May--not sure what is up with that, but perhaps the dates haven't yet been loaded into the system or a refurbishment may be planned and the dates are not yet certain. Your guess is as good as mine or anyone else.

As to your inquiry regarding Disney Springs--yes, there is bus service to Disney Springs and it begins fairly early in the a.m. Those buses are notoriously unreliable from a time standpoint. I would plan to be at the bus stop at least an hour ahead of your dining reservation and you may want to make that a bit more. Disney says to allow 90 minutes--it might not be a bad idea. If timing is in your favor, you will be killing time walking around Disney Springs. If timing is not in your favor you will make it on time.

With a major remodeling and overhaul scheduled to take 6-8 months to complete, and with the work earmarked for 2017, it looks like your visit will occur during the temporary shut down.

we have a four night stay at WL next week... just changed my flight home and tacked on a YC day! May be only one night but I am looking forward to a nice pool day. I'll bet there Jan 15-16. Yippee!

We are bringing DD's boyfriend with us for his first trip to WDW. We wanted to get as much time as possible as he can only stay for 4 days. Looking forward to seeing everything through new eyes!

Hope all went well with the run yesterday!

It was open until 8:00 on Friday. I did not have a chance to check last night but suffice to say there were probably not a lot of takers with the temps dipping in to the 40s around 7:00. Starting off cold this morning at 35 degrees with a real feel of 27 and only in the 50s later today. On another note, there is no evidence of construction in the existing restrooms by SAB to add showers as was rumored last year.

Thanks so much for the info. I have not heard much chatter about the new poolside shower room construction. The recreation staff did not have much info when I asked in October.

I believe others have answered the questions you have.

I don't remember if anyone has suggested Uber or a taxi. I think cab fare to DTD would be around $10-15 plus tip, Uber even less and the trip would be around 20 minutes max. May be worth considering.

I'll poke around for pictures of the refill options at the Marketplace and Hurricane Hanna's.

It is typically soda, PowerAde, lemonade and iced tea, I think. Marketplace has coffee, too.

I don't use the refill mugs, so someone correct me if I am wrong, but I don't think any location offers juice or milk for the refill mugs.

The Ale & Compass location is soda and coffee and I believe just available in the morning, before the lounge is open for bar services.

Its been a few months since our BCV trip, and wanted to get a recent update on the hot tubs at SAB? So the two that are sitting up on the rocks, together, one of them was pretty much cold the whole time. It was the over 18 one. Is that fixed now, is the temperature back to where it should be?

When we were there at the end of Nov/beginning of Dec, they were just "warm" tubs. They were in no way HOT tubs. Then we switched over to AKL and were able to enjoy a real hot tub. Ahhhhhh. I don't know why SAB's hot tubs are like that??

Thanks for the info. I agree, I will plan on leaving extra early and explore the area at Disney Springs if time permits.

That is what I was afraid of. I will be there with my DS20 for an end of the semester special trip and Captain's Grille was the only restaurant he specifically requested! I'll keep checking and maybe that date will become available. I did notice that I can make an ADR for our arrival date, so maybe we'll just plan on going then. Either way, we are planning on having an awesome trip!

Captain's Grille is one of our family's favorites and is our usual arrival day meal because it is right there at the resort and there are a lot of great selections on the menu.
