Resort Thread Disney's YACHT & BEACH CLUB Resorts

We have had five in our YC room back when the kids were teenagers and it worked out fine. There was a bit of juggling for the bathroom, though. But we made it work. :)

That should be saved for the Boardwalk! Sorry...... I know where the exit is.....:duck:

More Boardwalk humour

I'll join you at the exit.

After a year away from WDW, we are coming "home" and the Yacht Club happens to be our landing spot.

Initially we booked at POFQ, but were hoping something would open up at the Yacht Club. We lucked out on Monday, 11/8/2021 and changed from POFQ to a water view at the Yacht Club. This trip is Epcot/HS heavy for us as 6 of our 8 days we will be at one or the other. We are excited to be able to walk to both parks again.

We were at the Beach Club from Oct 24th to 30th. I had booked a garden view room and made a request for a full balcony. We were given room 4579 and loved both the room view and the location. It was close to the elevator by the leisure pool and not too far from the main elevators. We had a great view of Crescent Lake and the beach. There was a corporate party on the beach with a live band one night. I sat on our balcony listening to the music and it felt like I was right there. It was great. The only downside was that we couldn't see the Epcot fireworks or hear the music from it. We could hear the explosions, though. :)

There have been multiple complaints about the Roman shades not blocking the daylight very well, as there are gaps at the sides of the shades. This may be more of a problem at other times of the year, when the sun rises before 5:00 a.m., but not an issue at this time of year. I think the Roman shades also have been a year-round problem in those rooms facing the leisure pool, as the flood lights around the pool remain on overnight, and the gaps at the sides of the shades allow the extremely bright light to enter the room when guests are trying to sleep.

The light coming in around the Roman shades wasn't too bad for this room, since there weren't any exterior flood lights near our room. But I still used some clothes pins to clip a big sheet of paper to the shades to block some of the light. A park map is a perfect size to use. :) I always bring clothes pins on every Disney trip, mostly for hanging wet bathing suits. :)

The BC has mostly tub/shower combos. The only walk in shower we ever had at the BC was in a handicapped room. You could switch to the YC if you would like a walk in shower, although they would be a request and not guaranteed. :)
Thanks for the responses. :) My priority just shifted to where I’d rather stay at Beach Club than increase the odds at Yacht Club. LOL

Hi all.
Is there another elevator aside from the main one behind the Marketplace?
Our room is a hike away from the main elevators and I was wondering if there may be another one somewhere.

Yes, there is a single elevator which is close to the Tidal Pool. If you exit the Marketplace at the double doors adjacent to the doors that lead to BCV, take a right. Go about 50 feet and take your first right and you'll snake around a hallway [this is another 50 feet or so]. Right turn down the next hallway and elevator will be on your left. Hallway is maybe 150 feet until you get to the decision point. There will be a door to the pool and the elevator is right there.

Here are some pictures of the Beach/Yacht Club Shower room outside of StormAlong Bay. You can access these showers to the left of Beaches and Cream by the restroom that is located outside of the pool.

These facilities are handicapped accessible. The first picture represents a handicapped accessible toilet stall.

Do club level guests still have access to concierge services, through email or a special phone number? Help making reservations, or like this guest, making a room request?

I haven't looked, but is there somewhere I can read about the current perks of a club level stay?

Yes, Disney Signature Services (the most recent name for concierge) is still available. I got a call from someone within a few days of booking our January stay. I wasn’t home but the CM did leave a phone number.

I don’t know of anyplace with a list of perks, but the Club Level thread is a great resource. The first page isn’t kept up to date (no one does the great job you do with that Dee!). But there are many posters who post in real time. So the last pages are always good to read. Or any questions will get answered with up to date info.

From reading there, it seems: breakfast & evening food service & alcoholic beverages are pretty much the same as in the before days. Some resorts that had a bigger afternoon foods, like soups or sandwiches have pulled those. So far all resorts have just the lighter snacks they Y & B always had in the afternoon.

The CMs are now not necessarily tied to a desk to help with guest needs, but more available in the lounge with iPads. There is no equivalent of CL paid fastpasses with Disney Genie lightening lane or paid individual rides. That same access as for every other guest.

Reports from CR are daily housekeeping. Haven’t read that from other resorts. But the robes & slippers are in the rooms.

I will happily be reporting back more in January! :thumbsup2

Does anyone know how much a cabana rental is in January? We're staying at BCV and are SO excited!

We are finally returning to Y & B this summer!! I’m so excited about this trip! This will probably be our last family trip with our boys. It a celebration of me & DH’s 50th b-day, my parents’ 50th anniversary, my DS’s 21st b-day and my niece’s sweet 16.
Although the 50th b-days and anniversary were actually this year- my sister really wanted Tron and Guardians to be open. Crossing my fingers for that.
We haven’t booked yet bc we haven’t all agreed on a date. It’s going to be sometime in July. I’m guessing I need to book soon right??
Are there any good discounts for APs right now?? Haven’t booked a room in a long time.
Dee, will let you know when we have dates.

The current AP discount is for January 2nd to March 10th. Yacht Club has up to a 25% discount and Beach Club has 10% for these dates. If there are discounts for July then they most likely won't come out until the spring.
So can I book something now and apply a discount to it when it comes out?
Sorry these sound like stupid questions. You’d think I’d know these things but since buying a condo haven’t needed to stay on property.
thanks for your help!

Yes, you can apply the AP discount to your existing reservation if there is availability for that room with the discount. You might have to change room type or resort to get the discount, though. We were booked at the BC for February but switched to Yacht Club to get the bigger discount. :)

Definitely decided to come back to Yacht or Beach for April 2023. It will both of our 50th b-days that year, but we are going to WDW while we are still 49 because I need to still be in my 40's for one more trip. 😂

I can't decide which to book though. Will probably just do a standard view if available (not concerned about a view this trip), garden view if not. Yacht has newer rooms, but something about Beach and just the light/airiness of it all pulls me too.

If they still did room only, I could book on Dec 5th!!! I wish they would start that again, I want a trip officially on the books! :D

You can still do a room only reservation. I never book a package. I don’t know if you can still book 500 days out, as far as I know you can by calling. But you can definitely book a room only reservation.

Sorry, yes I meant 499 days out! I think that's not happening at the moment. I'll just have to be patient and wait for 2023 packages to come out.

I'm not good at being patient. :D
