Resort Thread Disney's PORT ORLEANS RIVERSIDE Resort

I booked a RR garden view using the Spring discount offer, April 20-26th. I was wanting to make a request for a Oak Manor(preferably ground floor) near east bus stop is this possible? Thanks!

I would just ask for ground floor, near the East depot. Since Oak Manor is closer to that bus stop anyway, it seems to me that mentioning both is just redundant.

We have a garden room booked very end of January. If the bridge may be closed for refurbishments, would you request Alligator Bayou? Or is there another bridge available for those in the Mansion buildings?

Also parts of the Magnolia Terrace mansion building may be closed for roofing work due to start soon, so yes Alligator Bayou might be a better choice. The bridges won't be closed for the duration of the work, but there may be periods when they are shut.

Okay, thank you for the information!

depends on what you consider "near"....We were in Oak Manor in December. I considered it near the East depot...about a 3-5 minute walk to our room at the front of Oak Manor. It seemed to me that Oak Manor was about mid-way between the East and South depots. We used both. I used the South when I was afraid my anxiety prone ways ;-) were going to keep wondering when a bus was coming....I liked the fact that the South depot had the screen where I could see about when a bus was coming. And, they were usually right about on time. The East depot was more convenient when I wasn't as much concerned about time (such as getting to an ADR)...more relaxing with less people....but, no idea when the bus was coming.

Sure! If you look at the resort map Oak Manor is H shaped. So they can put you on the side closest to bus stop. We were on the river side of the building on the side closer to the foot bridge, and it was still a short walk to East Depot.
Great building, loved the location.
Faxing room assignors with your request around 4-5 days before arrival helps, as well as having request noted on your reservation. If there is a particular reason why you need a ground floor room, it helps to tell them why.

I do not need a ground floor just prefer one. After getting stuck at on an elevator at work for an extended period of time I tend to avoid them like the plague(so no ToT for me)!! I am physical able and can take the stairs if I have too.

Does anyone know the width between the beds in royal room? Only 4 of us but would like to let kids sleep separately. Stayed in AB preferred last time but would really like to try royal rooms next. Wondering if narrow cot might fit between beds so don't have to move each day. Thanks.

Also do you think even factoring in some delays, the pool should be reopened by late April?

Just changed our reservation using the spring offer to a king room for 4/11-4/16. Keep rechecking the offers, and what you are looking for may open up. We were previously in a standard room with only the first 2 days discounted from the earlier offer, and upgrading to king bed was less than $70 more for 5 nights. Previously only royal rooms and river rooms had been available, and they would have been closer to $150 more.

First, yes the pool should be open by April. Even if there are some delays, I'd still have thought they would try really hard to get it done by Easter.

The gap between the beds was reduced somewhat when they changed from double to queen beds, and they made the bedside cabinets narrower to still fit in between the beds, so I doubt a cot would fit. Something very narrow like a 'moses basket' might, but not a full cot or pack'n'play. However there is plenty of space between the first bed and the wall by the door, and you could put a cot that side easily.

Just booked here for March 1 for a week, my last 2 visits were Port Orleans French Quarter. If the main pool is closed will he hot tub be closed? Thanks

We have done the same thing, we made our first reservation in November and then we looked again in December and were able to save about $240.00. We will keep looking but I think that will be the best deal.

Just checked in 2 hours ago, staying from Jan 6 - 10. The 1st night is a preferred room and the other 3 std room. While checking in I mentioned Bethany (the castmember) that I have 2 reservations and was pleasantly surprised with an magical upgrade. She told me I can stay the 4 nights in the preferred room. I love the Mansion but have to say that the AB room is lovely. Also got my online checking requests: corner room and 1st floor. I am in building 18.
