Disney's POP CENTURY RESORT Information & Questions

I have been using TouringPlans for several years now, and they are off occasionally on a few things, but if you email them to let them know of any updates and changes they will make the apporpriate changes on the website and app. I had this happen in December. I got a text with our room assignment at ASSports and according to their website it was not what we needed (roll-in shower handicap room). When we actually got to the room it WAS what we had booked. So I took pictures of the room(s) and sent them to touringplans. They apologized and thanked me for the pictures and for making them aware of the room update so they could change it in the system. It has got to be tough to stay on top of all of the changes that Disney is constantly making. I love TP and think it is well worth the member fee for the amount of information they provide. I use the app in the parks all the time. Also, there is a touring plans thread where Len Testa from touring plans will answer your questions and help fix issues with their site and app. He appreciates suggestions from TP followers and members. Here is the link to the thread:

Must be nice to charge people for a service and then have other people correct your errors!!!

I have a FD package booked 11/15-11/20 for preferred room and I also booked RO on 11/14 using a UOC for standard room. My question is do we need to take our luggage when we check out on the 15th and then have to wait until check in time for the package on the 15th? Is it possible to do online check in for both reservations? I've never done online check-in before. And also will they store our luggage and deliver to new room or will we have to pick it up since we are not changing resorts? TIA
Yes, you can do online check in for both.
Yes, they will store your luggage for you. Call luggage services and advise them of the room change and you should be able to make arrangements for them to move it for you. They should have you leave it by the window (and you will have to advise how many pieces of luggage), they will retrieve it, and then move it to your new room for you. I would ask to talk to a mgr about this when you first check in. This is why I like checking in face to face to address things like this. :) I have done similar things there before. I was just at POP earlier this month and had a late check in. My room wasn't where I wanted so after night one, they moved me. So I am super familiar with room changes. It's easy peasy if you let them do the work, just follow their instructions.

Since this has turned into a discussion about TP I'll throw in my two cents. They don't do anything you can't do. All the information they charge for can be found on the internet for FREE. You can fax your room request all by yourself. You don't need them for that. It must be nice to proclaim yourself a Disney expert, be wrong half the time and people still throw money at you. This is my opinion based on experience (no I never gave them any money). YMMV.

Does Pop have the monitors that tell you when the park buses are arriving?
Yes,but they have not been activated, unless they were "turned on" very recently.

I'm planning on going down tomorrow-I'll check on them.:)

1st stay at Pop in 12 days! I paid for a preferred view room. I choose Lake View, highest floor during check-in. I've been trying to change it, and it won't let me. I would prefer to be in the 50's section, Lady building. Should I call and have it noted or will the online check-in choices take precedence?

Once you've done online check-in it won't let you edit your requests, you have to call to make changes. And for the record, the lake view rooms are all standard rooms, so you wouldn't have gotten your request since you booked a preferred view room. Definitely call and have them note your new requests. The phone number is on the first page of this thread if you need it.

Thank you! I called and spoke with a CM. When I did online check-in, I wasn't as informed as I am now, thanks to this thread :)

+1 I can't find the # either! Or the form people have mentioned they have used to fax it![
Honestly, you are really better off calling in your requests and having them added to your ressie that way... or doing online check in. Faxes are last to get looked at, if they get to them at all.

My one request is added already, but I thought someone pages back (or another thread) mentioned how faxing makes them look at your reservation again or really try to accommodate your request

Honestly it really doesn't. It just causes more backup of paperwork in the back office. If it is a super busy time, faxed requests are often ignored. Repeating yourself just gets frustrating for them.
