Disney's POP CENTURY RESORT Information & Questions

Not really.

They will only do "sections" of rooms at a time and they are very good about keeping Guests inconvenience to a minimum - most POP Guests won't even know anything is going on.

Helpful! This will be our first onsite stay, so haven't had much experience with how refurbs can impact a stay. The only stories heard are about the construction taking place at Poly or WL, which didn't seem to be pleasant, but I'm sure room refurbs are less intrusive!

Yes this will be much "quieter" than the poly and WL refurbs.

Yeah, that bothers me. I like to put out my stuff for the next morning on the table overnight. Can't do that if the table is my bed.
I love the overall aesthetic, but I hope there's another table hidden there somewhere.

Yes, DH likes to sit at the table and work while DS and I are still asleep in the morning. That won't work unless there's still another table somewhere else.

I do like the new lighting/artwork above the bed and the new bed scarf thing at the bottom of the bed. It looks nice. But I'm not overly enthusiastic about having to pull the bed up and down. If I need two beds, I want two beds.

I love the new look!! We checked into Pop tonight after a long day at Epcot. We have the same old room set-up in the 50's section building 1 4th floor. I have another trip booked at the end of July so I'm hoping for the remodeled room for that trip! If anyone gets a remodeled room tells us the section and building number please!

I like the look. We only need the 1 bed so it will not be a problem with us. My question is are all the preferred rooms in the same building/section? I'd so where would we be put if there is no room in our category? We are going September 21-28.

Looks good. The table will have to be moved to pull the bed down though so still usable? Or is it collapsible? On closer inspection it looks like it folds down so ignore, that!
Curious to know if there'll be refurbished rooms by the time of my visit in September. 1 bed would be ideal for me.

looks ok, i guess tale can be moved somewhere else so that bed can be taken down. Does anyone know which rooms do have this new deco?

It looks a lot like the Murphy bed in the AoA suites. The table does fold, and forms a support for the bed. The one at AoA was actually more comfortable than the bed in the bedroom. I like the look of the room a lot, and wish they would have some rooms ready by the time I go this December.

I'm sure there will be some other type of table or flat surface you can use in addition to the one connected to the bed. If you look at the end table/night stand to left of the "pull-down" bed, it has an open area (like a cube) that you could use to set out your stuff for the next morning. Also, I'm sure the entertainment center/dresser will have a flat top. And I think there's a good chance that there's another table in the room. The table on the bed is part of the support structure for when the bed is open so it's probably just a "bonus" table.

Love the new room. :lovestruc

We are booked at Pop in December but are considering a switch to a DVC studio renting points. Great Pop has to do something really cool just after we put in a request for points last night.

Okay I'll admit it. I'm upset about King cupcake disappearing :guilty:

Wow, interesting!!! Anyone heard what section they are starting with? I love Pop, so I have mild anxiety hearing of any changes haha! Especially so close to our trip. I'd love to see the whole room look, wonder if any changes to the bathroom?

Hopefully there will be more pictures of the entire room soon. I am both excited and anxious about the change, seeing as we purchased a twin inflatable bed for our two kids to take turns sleeping on. (one's 15 and the other will be 13, so the days of them fitting into a single bed are gone! lol!) If there'is now no place to put it on the floor, there is no point lugging it along.

Oh no...say it ain't so  I missed this.

I wonder if there will be refurbished rooms by the time of my visit, we will be there first week of October.

Preferred rooms are in a lot of different buildings and sections.

Parking question- We will be guests at Pop Century, and we will not have a car. I have other family members staying at another resort (Non-Disney property) and they would like to meet us at the Pop Century for dinner on our first night (we didn't tell the kids that their Grandma, Aunt, Uncle, and cousins are going to be there the same time as us, and it's a surprise!). They have a car, and will need to park. How does the parking for non guests work? Can they get parking validated if they show a dinner receipt? Thanks for any help.

Haven't heard what section they are starting with but they should be starting rather quickly as permits have been filed already.
