They make fresh flower leis in the lobby you can purchase but they don’t deliver them to your room. Even having them ordered from an outside vendor would be difficult to have delivered to your room. I don’t see any leis available through Disney Florist either. Unfortunately the leis made in the lobby are made of carnations and nothing like an orchid, plumeria or tuberose lei. The staff wanted to make leis using better flowers but they will not supply them with anything else.

A friend sent us leis from Hawaii once to the Polynesian but if we had not known some of the staff back then I don't think they would have ever gotten to us.

Do they lei first time guests? Or club level guests?

For those wondering what room request options are available for Online Check-In when booking a Studio Villa (cash, not points). You get very generic choices. Only Top Floor, Lower Floor, Close to Elevators. No longhouse or balcony request options at all.

You are awesome! Thanks for the pic. I definitely didn't see anything like that at the store and can see how it would be helpful. I do have to go out tomorrow. Maybe I'll find something then. Thanks!!

My pleasure :goodvibes

A carnation lei just doesn't say Hawaii to me ;-). I would think the sales would increase with using plumeria.

Shoot!! I did find a company from Hawaii that would deliver them but I am not sure who to talk to to make sure they would get to our room especially when we will not even have a room number until we arrive. I though about asking the company to attach a note with instructions and have our resort reservation attached to it.,Does the Poly have a direct line? I got lucky and did get one for CBR back in 2014 when we stayed there.
They won't deliver them to your room for your arrival. Most packages we have had to pick up at the front desk or business center at convention resorts.

So there would be no problem getting it then correct? I would be fine stopping at the front desk as long as I know it will be there. Do you have any suggestions?

A friend is staying at the Poly Villas for the first time. Standard View. Looking for suggested location - been to Disney many times but haven't stayed at Poly since I was a kid. We are going during Star Wars Dark Side races so just a 4 night stay.

Tagging on to the delivery question, I plan to buy my dd swimmy from Amazon and have it shipped to the poly, it's just too big and bulky to fly with. Will they have it at the front desk or bell services? Thanks!

Re: Touring plans room request fax

Len Testa mentioned on a podcast that the success rate was about 70% on getting the room (or very close to it) requested. What I took away is that many of the unfulfilled requests were either very popular or different category than booked.

Are 2nd floor rooms without a balcony larger because they take in the space of the non existent balcony?
On some pictures it looks like the 3rd floor rooms in those buildings are a little shorter to make space for the balcony.

And how wide can the slider-doors of a 2nd floor room without a balcony be opened? Just some tiny space or could two adults easily stand against the railing?

My SO and I will be staying at the Poly for the first time this October (9/30 to 10/4) in a DVC studio villa. We are super excited, particularly for Ohana and Trader Sams.

Hope you have a great trip and enjoy the Poly :wizard:.

If this were me, I'd take a cab, especially if you are taking your own luggage. Always plenty out front and it's a pretty reasonable fare to AKL. I guess Uber would be an option as well assuming availability is good (I don't have experience using Uber at WDW). I've had great luck with cabs from Poly and like the care-free, "just walk out front" timing. Have a great trip!

I agree :).

I miss that area with the bridge over the stream. So pretty.

Me too :(.

I have never had a problem having something delivered. Follow the instructions on Deliveries thread. Put name, reservation # etc and it works like a charm.

In September, I stayed in a DVC Standard Studio and requested Tokelau. It was the perfect room! Ground Floor, Corner, Facing the Grand Floridian. I am putting in the same request when I go in June :-)

The second floor room is the same size as the rest of the rooms in that building. There is the same sliding glass door that opens on the second floor to a railing and it opens wide enough for a few people to stand at and enjoy the view. I would say that if I had the choice of a room in a great location and view that was second floor over a room in not as good a location with a balcony and patio I would take the second floor room with the better location.
