Thanks for the review! We leave in 8 days!!! I've been thinking about the clothing storage situation. We're staying for 11 nights so I definitely want to unpack. There are only 3 of us, so hopefully it won't be so tight. I was thinking of either bringing hangers or packing cubes (link below). I think DS6, I'm going to put his clothes in gallon ziplocs and then use the bathroom drawers. Do you think that will work? Any other hints or suggestions? Do suitcases fit under the bed? Or did you put them in the closet or something? Thanks!

I am a big fan of packing cubes! Everyone in our family has a different color and we unzip the cubes and put them right in the dressers. My biggest storage issue at poly last year was finding a place to hang wet swimsuits. I had brought clothespins but there wasn't a clothesline in the bathroom so this year I may actually bring our drying rack. I purchase packing cubes from ebags. It helps in the packing process because I can easily rummage around our bags without them getting disorganized.

We always keep our wet suits on the patio/balcony. Of course, this only works if you can dodge the random rain showers!! :)

Was it one of the new studios with no clothesline in the bathroom, or one of the regular rooms? We use the heck out of those clotheslines - I hope there is one there. 5 people = a lot of wet bathingsuits!

No clothesline in the villas. I used an inverted umbrella-type set of clothespins which hang in the closet or shower curtain bar.

Thank! I took the plunge and bought one set of cubes. I'll put ds's clothes in the gallon ziplock so that just leaves Dh, who thinks I'm nuts with the cubes, to fend for himself. Ha ha.

I went by the dollar store after reading your post and they didn't have any kind of clotheslines. Do you have a pic of what you mean? Thanks! You've been so helpful.

My SO and I will be staying at the Poly for the first time this October (9/30 to 10/4) in a DVC studio villa. We are super excited, particularly for Ohana and Trader Sams. We are doing a slit stay and we're a little nervous about switching to our new resort, though. How would everyone get from the Poly to AKL? Uber? Bus to TTC then AKL? Monorail to Epcot then AKL?

The absolute easiest way would be Uber.

The question is if you are having Bell Services transfer your luggage. None of the park transport will allow your luggage for a multi-transfer.

If this were me, I'd take a cab, especially if you are taking your own luggage. Always plenty out front and it's a pretty reasonable fare to AKL. I guess Uber would be an option as well assuming availability is good (I don't have experience using Uber at WDW). I've had great luck with cabs from Poly and like the care-free, "just walk out front" timing. Have a great trip!

We're honestly open to anything. We're planning to do MNNSHP that night so I booked the morning off to make transfer easier on us. We will probably do an Uber if that's overall the most simple solution.

I did as well. I was skeptical but curious what these things were. Organization is neither my forte nor biggest concern. I checked them out on Amazon and decided maybe they were worth a try (after pawing through my bag repeated on a trip this weekend). I bought one set and we'll see. I think I'm going to be pawing thru smaller 'suitcases' but we'll see.

I swear the Dis is costing me way too much money with all these must have things I never knew I needed. o_O

I hang our bathing suits on the balcony chairs, which are under cover and don't have to worry about rain. Using the arms & backs of the chairs you can fit 3 suits on each chair.

Yes, it's new. Not quite as lush there, is it? But I think it must allow for the views of the Castle from the lobby.

Here's one of my oldest Polynesian pics, facing the GCH

I miss that area with the bridge over the stream. So pretty.

Does any one where I can have a fresh flower leis sent to our room on our arrival day?

You are awesome! Thanks for the pic. I definitely didn't see anything like that at the store and can see how it would be helpful. I do have to go out tomorrow. Maybe I'll find something then. Thanks!!

Sorry but what is the trip dashboard and what website? We rented points from a DVC member. Do we need them to make and room requests for us?

Yes. If you rented points only the owner of those points can make room requests. Although you can use the limited options during Online Check In to make requests. But we never find those to be useful to us.

Would anyone be able to tell me if the gift shop at the poly still sells tiki mugs. I've seen pictures of 2 different styles with the Polynesian resort words on the back. If they are still for sale could you tell me how much they are? Thank you very much!

Yes there are a few different versions of mug and different colors at Boutiki and they do say Disney's Polynesian Village Resort on the back.

They make fresh flower leis in the lobby you can purchase but they don’t deliver them to your room. Even having them ordered from an outside vendor would be difficult to have delivered to your room. I don’t see any leis available through Disney Florist either. Unfortunately the leis made in the lobby are made of carnations and nothing like an orchid, plumeria or tuberose lei. The staff wanted to make leis using better flowers but they will not supply them with anything else.

A friend sent us leis from Hawaii once to the Polynesian but if we had not known some of the staff back then I don't think they would have ever gotten to us.

Shoot!! I did find a company from Hawaii that would deliver them but I am not sure who to talk to to make sure they would get to our room especially when we will not even have a room number until we arrive. I though about asking the company to attach a note with instructions and have our resort reservation attached to it.,Does the Poly have a direct line? I got lucky and did get one for CBR back in 2014 when we stayed there.
