Last I heard the Oasis pool is scheduled to be complete in the spring. Is that still correct? We are heading to the POLY the end of June for my oldest DS's graduation trip. We booked a lake view studio. What are your recommendations for the best longhouse to request. Ideally would like to be close to GCH and transportation. Thanks in advance!

We wil be at the poly the second week of August. Is it possible to just walk up and eat lunch at Kona? I don't want to Make a ton of adr's except are must do's. We do plan on making a ADR for Ohana for DD birthday breakfest. I just wasn't sure if we can get into Kona for lunch on our pool day without a ADR.

I was at WDW in June, and I had no problem getting an ADR for Kona on the day of. I looked at the Disney app and had several choices of times. However, I was only booking for a party of two. It might have been more difficult with a larger party.

The Oasis pool is still scheduled for some vague "spring" opening. I'm pretty sure the actual original scheduled opening was "winter," so "spring" does account for the late start. Of course, technically "spring" could be as late as June 20 or thereabouts. My personal guess is that it will open in April, but I have no insider info.

Lake view studios are all in Moorea, assuming you're staying in a DVC unit, which studio normally implies. Moorea is close to the TTC, but the furthest longhouse from the GCH. That said, I don't think it's really all that far from the GCH (I like to walk past Hawaii along the beach, then up past the pool), but other people have different opinions on that.

Hi! my family will be staying CL at the POLY starting on Saturday. Does CL offer REAL coffee or is it that Nescafe junk?

Poly CL has both real coffee and from the machine (I think it's a Nescafé machine, not sure though). The real coffee is fantastic (IMHO), especially if freshly brewed. I've always had good fresh cups in the morning hours when they are brewing it regularly. It can get a bit long in the tooth during the day when not refreshed that often. The machine (coffee, espresso, etc) at Poly CL is just not very good, but OK in a pinch.

I would think, with that being the beginning of spring break season, it will go back to "normal" - a least for a while.

Staying last week of Feb first week of March and got a letter 2 days ago about on going construction. They did note that it would start until after 9am. I'm not overly thrilled I thought it would be close to being done. We just built our house and houses going up next to us so all I hear all day is construction. I wanted a break!!! I don't want to switch but that email makes me more nervous!!

I am staying March 18th and we did receive a letter about two months ago.

I am surprising my soon to be 10 yr old (she will turn 10 down at Disney). We are staying at the Poly for our first time. I have standard room but want to make sure we request a good building. I don't want to over look construction. Looks like Samoa is most recommended standard view building. But I know one side overlooks the pool construction. Can you request the non construction side? Or do you guys have a better building to recommend? I want this to be super special and we WILL be at the hotel during the day.

Hey!

We stayed at AoA this last trip but DD insists on eating at KONA for lunch at least once per visit.

Lapu lapu's were good as ever.

However I popped in to say I had never tried the chocolate fondue. We always get the creme brule because of the carmelized banana on top, yum! We had 2 of dd's friends with us so I also ordered the CF. WOW, there were coconut macaroons, pineapple, kiwi, cookies etc for dipping. Very fun set up.

Wish I was there now!
