Does anyone know if Garden Grocer is currently delivering and how that would work?

I’ve used GG a handful of times since reopening. As the PP said, it’s operating as normal. You can either pick up your items from Bell Services or call while in you’re room and they’ll bring them up (Disney charges $6 for this, plus tip). I know others like some of the cheaper options out there, but I’ve been impressed with GG. I had never ordered groceries pre-COVID, so it’s new to us. I especially like that I don’t have to mess with ID for beer/wine.

Thanks so much. I have no problem paying a little more for ease and convenience. Definitely planning to use them then. How far out before your trip do you usually place your order?

I’m always waiting until the last minute, so mine have been a couple of weeks out. I ‘think’ they have some discounts if you order further in advance, but not totally sure.

As of last summer they had a discount for ordering further out.

Do you have to be in the room for Bell Services to deliver? Is luggage being delivered from Bell Services (for early arrival when luggage is being held for you)?

Yes, you need to be in the room for any delivery from bell services, including groceries and luggage. You’ll occasionally read a report around these parts of bell services having delivered luggage that was being stored directly to a room, but that is not common/not what is supposed to happen.
 
I know the resevation I just made with the special rate is for an outer building. I have only stayed at GF one time previously. Does anyone know if we can request Conch Key on this kind of deal? That's the building we were in last time. It was quiet on that trip and we don't mind the longer walk from the main building. Besides, its close to the boat dock, which we like to ride to MK. Should I just request a specific outer building when we arrive? Or is there a significantly better outer building someone would recommend we request instead? Thanks

Typically room assignors are just assigning rooms based on the room/view category you booked and any requests you submitted, as they go about the Tetris puzzle. What you paid and how you booked has not really been a factor when it comes room assignments, or at least anything that is noticed/discussed on a wide scale. One thing I’ve learned in my Disney travels - it doesn’t really matter what you pay on either end of the scale, requests may or may not be able to be accommodated.

So yes, if you want Conch Key, I’d call in and ask for that note to be added to your reservation. Don’t do it upon arrival, rooms are generally assigned several days in advance.

Well, I'm back! I'm sure absolutely no one will remember that I did a Nov covid trip and had a GF villa booked - and wound up switching to a BLT last-minute because the walkway wasn't going to be open. It was a pretty good trip, but honestly, I was pretty stressed about covid the whole time and vowed not to go back until I was vaccinated.

Yadda yadda, I had my second shot 8 days ago. My sister, also just vaccinated, suggested a quick trip the 4th weekend in April. Since the walkway is open now, GF is the place! I was able to snag a GV, outer building room at the 30% off rate from the 21st-25th. And then I got up stupid early this morning and got pretty much every ADR we wanted. I'm looking forward to this - I know I will feel far more relaxed.

Any suggestions on room requests? I know absolutely nothing about GF! Thank you. And also, YAY!
