kimmar067 - Thank you for posting and sharing your pictures from the GF. The pictures bring back so many good memories that I had there with my family. Hoping to be back there again!
Lovely pictures as always @kimmar067. The GF grounds are so beautiful, they’re my favorite on property besides the Poly. Just so peaceful and pretty to walk around.
...so glad you enjoyed them! :thumbsup2 I'm always happy to share...

I don't book with a TA and I didn't get the e-mail. Blah.

Oddly, I don't have any pending trips planned but absolutely would cook something up if we're talking 50% off GF.

This is what I get for always answering "definitely will return" on those darn surveys after each trip.
I stayed at GF 3 times last year and still didn’t get the gf 52% off email . 🙄

Request

I am looking for here now/just back reports on the pool shower situation and if they are still closed. Any recent feedback is appreciated.

Thanks!

Hello

I've been on a bit of a lengthy DISboard break since my 4/20 trip was canceled, but now am rescheduling to June and happily planning and catching up on the many changes...it's nice to see many familiar names/faces. Anyway, we have never stayed at the GF, but that is the plan for June and we're very excited! I'm still plowing through this thread but I had a couple of questions, although @trishadono already answered my first one about the day beds...

There seems to be limited availability in terms of room categories, so right now we have an outer building garden. Should I be hawking for the main building? More convenient, yes? Not sure how much of the resort is open at this point so don't know if availability will expand.

So, I just called to see about renting a cabana for my husband's birthday. She told me I have to wait until 60 days and she also said that she thinks there is only one "fancy" cabana at the GF. I figured maybe someone here could verify that for me (just wondering how tough it will be to make a reservation 60 days out).

How's that new MK walkway? - looks great!

Thanks!

The main building is suites and club level. Currently CL is closed. SO the only way to book in main building is by booking a suite.

You can see prices for 1 and 2 OUTER building suites online for an idea of cost. To book the main building you have to call or use a TA because the suites not bookable online. Also the prices for suites Main is more expensive that outer building but gives you an idea how freakin expensive they are:rolleyes2

Keep reading through page 1:surfweb: ,there is lots of info but come back and ask q;s as needed.::yes::

GF has lovely grounds and not too large of a resort so when not cl I don't mind outer building. Very lovely!

I wondered if the main building was mostly club but wasn't sure. I had seen that CL isn't available at this point - we love CL but figured it wasn't available with the restrictions and such. Good to know about booking the suites. I've tried to find prices for other types of rooms but haven't figured that out if they're not available - I'm sure I'll figure it out.

Yes, the grounds look beautiful. Really looking forward to it - do you have any insight into whether there is more than one "fancy" cabana?

Thanks again!

Welcome back!!! Seems as though Trish answered your other questions, so I’ll reply regarding the cabana. There are 4 ‘fancy cabanas’ at the Grand by the Beach Pool.

The Courtyard Pool has ‘Poolside Patios’, which are cheaper in price, if you choose this route.

And the walkway is fantastic!! Peaceful and scenic as you walk to the park. Definitely worth a try.

Thank you! It feels nice to be back and be planning - I have cabin fever!

Oooh, excellent! Ok, so the CM was a little confusing. She indicated that there are both "fancy" cabanas and Poolside patios at the Beach Pool, and just Poolside patios at the Courtyard pool, but this looks like it's fancy at Beach Pool and patios at Courtyard, yes? Both look great but hoping to splurge on the cabana! Just FYI but you may already know this - the CM said that they are not doing 1/2 day rentals at this time, just full day.

Thanks again!

Yes, she was correct... however, the second Premium Seating by the Beach Pool Area is by the Children’s Splash Pad. You will not be directly by the pool, just next to the splash pad, with a view of the splash pad. Page 1 has all the information, if you’d like to take a look!

Got it - thanks, @mrsap! I had that page up and was looking at it when I called, but some of CMs info was different (like there only being 1 cabana) so I wasn't sure what was accurate and figured y'all would have the most recent info! Thanks again!

I'll let you know if I see Tina in the cabana next door!

It is amazing how often you see reports like this around the DIS. I think those CMs are well-intentioned, but if they search/pull up the wrong thing or don’t know exactly what they are looking at, you end up with bad info. And they likely get cabana calls so few/far between, it’s just not something they are good at. I don’t mean that as an excuse, it’s just interesting how frequently this comes up.

Glad we got you on the right track.

And glad to see you around the DIS - it’s been awhile!

Dd and I really enjoyed Enchanted Rose. Since we are used to cl and parks are closing so early it saved us lol.

We could get whatever beverages we wanted, a few nice appetizers and the chance to get dressed up but you can wear regular park attire as well. Watch hours, the last hour they start “closing” and may refuse to seat you but you can order a beverage and sit in the lobby,
