When booking a Business Class room, what would anyone make as their room request? We will probably be spending a lot of our week in the room.

If you prefer ground floor, that's the major one. There's not a lot of view preference or issue in that building, you're already near transportation, etc.

The bathroom surely hasn't been redone. Maybe it a Handicap room? The bed runner and curtains are different though. I recently saw old pics from CSR rooms, everything was different. Furniture, bedding, curtains, pictures and paint. I am expecting a totally different look when the rooms get refurbed.

I personally like the back side. ground floor and corner room. I do request a room number. It has been granted twice.

I thought that too, that maybe it was a handicap room but then I thought how? The doorway to the bathroom area is smaller than the ones with the sliding doors and the toilet area is in no way handicap. Also on touring plan room layout, it says preferred king with no mention of a suite or that it is a handicap room. I really think that it is a test room. On the unofficial Coronado Springs website, on its message board, the moderator says that the test rooms are in building 1, 2nd floor. I just signed up on that message board to ask him, but he approves everyone that signs up for the messageboard before you're able to post anything and I'm still waiting.

I rewatched the video. I don't see handrails in the bathroom. It very well could be a new design to the room. The bathroom hasn't been redone though. I took a survey from Disney after a stay in 2013 about bathroom upgrades. It was stand up showers and had glass doors plus nice tile work. Guess we'll have to wait and see.

Right, I wouldn't say that the bathtub has been redone, just the toilet moved to the former closet area with a door and a different sink lay out, sink being pushed to one side instead of being in the middle and then the whole introduction of the separate closet. I remember reading in an online article about the shower test rooms that you are speaking of and those are in one of the Rancho buildings. All of those are just test and I can't wait and see what they actually settle on.

I found that article....http://www.orlandoparksnews.com/2015/06/in-room-bathroom-test-at-coronado.html

Thats a jr suite room. Any time you see the tan bed runner, its a suite. All a jr suite is is two rooms next to each other with a door between. The staff locked the door and booked the king part of the room.

There is a 1 bedroom suite next door to it so this could very well be a room that makes it a 2 bedroom suite but I'm looking more at the bathroom area redesign with the stand alone closet. I believe that is new and a design that they are considering for the refurbishment.

We got home last night from 5 nights at CSR, and I thought I'd share my thoughts.

Room - Our room was fine, clean when we got there, mousekeeping did a good job, no mold in the bathroom, no dirt that we saw. The tile in the bathroom looked outdated, but it didn't matter. Our only complaint was that it was always cold in the room (we did turn off the ceiling fan, and turned the a/c up a little at night).

Location - We were in Ranchos 7B, second floor, room 7690, and it was a great location for us. (We were right next to Cabanas 8A.) It was very close to the dig site, it wasn't far from the quiet pool either, although we didn't make it over there. It wasn't far to walk to El Centro either, at least we didn't think so. We only went there two or three times, but the walk was nice. My only problem with it was that I could never find it by myself--when we arrived, we had checked in online and didn't have to go to the front desk; my youngest son and I went to find the room (mistake), and we took the wrong set of stairs up and ended up walking around the very, very long way, across the entire building. I think that was part of it. It would have been nice to be closer to the parking lot, as we used our van most of the time, but it was fine. I had requested Ranchos 7B.

Buses - We used the buses a couple of times in the middle of the day (drove to the park, left our car in the close parking space we had, used the bus back to the resort for a break then back to the park in the evening), and we used the bus to the MK both ways. This is our 10th stay at Disney, and I don't think the buses are necessarily better or worse than any of the resorts we've stayed in. We didn't wait long for the bus in the afternoon back to the park one day, but the other day, it seemed that we had just missed a bus and we waited about 15 minutes. We mostly used bus stop 4; there was a bus board there, but it wasn't working or wasn't turned on. We did get off the bus each time at stop #2 and walk to our room. We had to stand on our way to the MK on Tuesday morning, which is no big deal, as we are 2 healthy adults and two healthy teenagers (15 and 13). The second morning that we went to MK, we went to bus stop 2. The bus board there was working, and it was accurate. The bus was almost full by the time it got to stop 4, and I'm not sure if everyone got on. We waited quite awhile to get a bus from MK each time, but that could have just been the timing because there weren't many people at the stop when we got there. No complaints on the buses from us. We prefer to drive our own car and control the timing, but the bus works fine when we want to use it. Our kids wanted to go back to the room before Wishes on night at the MK. It was nice to be able to let the use the bus to get there on their own and know that they were safe. The left the MK about 930 on a night that the first MSEP was at 9 and Wishes was at 10, and didn't have to wait long for a bus. They said they started out with seats on the bus but gave them up for a little kid and a lady with a baby that were going to have to stand.

Pepper Market - We only ate here once, for dinner. We got there around 5:00, and the lines were very short or non-existent. Oldest son and I both got the cheesesteak sandwich and fries, my husband got the pork, rice, and veggies, and youngest son got a personal pizza. Everything was really good, the portions were huge, and we were happy with our meals.

Check In/Guest Services - We used online check in and were able to go straight to our room. Our magic bands worked fine, we had no issues, but when I did the online check in, it wouldn't hold my credit card info. My husband went to the front desk to have our room charging set up. It only took a few minutes and he said the CM was friendly and helpful.

Laundry - my husband did a couple loads of laundry at the Ranchos pool one day. The machines only took a debit or credit card. He said there were several machines open at the time (mid-afternoon). The app or site that you watch the progress on was a little odd, but it didn't matter. He finished laundry by 4:00 or so, and when we were in the park that evening, he got a message around 8:30 telling him the dryer was done.

Overall thoughts - This was our first stay at CSR. We didn't have any complaints or problems, and we liked it, but we didn't love it. I wouldn't hesitate to stay here again, but it wouldn't be my first choice either. The resort location is great, it wasn't far from any of the parks. The Dig Site pool was great, my kids loved the slide (the two times we were able to go to the pool due to rain/storms). As far as the CSR/CBR debate, we prefer CBR for the atmosphere and the layout, but can't point to anything and say that is what we don't like about CSR. It is a nice resort, it just isn't our favorite.

For those who have been at CSR on December 24 and 25, did the resort do anything special on those days (activities, meals, characters, etc.)? How crowded was the resort itself on those days, as far as the pools and restaurants?

Thanks in advance for any info!! pixiedust:

The new design for the bathroom is way different than whats in the video. :yay:

Question! We are scheduled to arrive in 10 days for the PKD Foundation Leadership Conference and National convention. I want to put in a room request (no guarantee, I know), but I am unsure what to request. I know that we have Water View secured, per the reservation information I received. I would assume the Casitas, because they are closest. Ground floor would be best, since I have bad knees and don't want to do stairs. It's myself, husband and son (16). Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Getting really excited!!!

I cant remember if the el centre bus stop is first then it goes around resort to the rest of the stops. Can someone refresh my memory. Thx

Planning a short trip in August, a girls trip with my Mom. It's her first time at Disney! I wanted to stay at my beloved POR, but its about $254 less to stay at Coronado. Those of you who love it here, what are the perks/your favorite things about the resort?

I love how peaceful it is here. I love going to the disney parks but when I am at this resort I do not feel like there are tons of kids and people. I go during Thanksgiving so there are usually no conventions going on which is perfect for us. My kids love the water slide and we love the huge hot tub. I think it is the biggest out of all the disney resorts. I also love staying in the cabanas because they are only two stories so less people over that way. This is our 5th time and we always stay in the Cabanas. If they ever did a dvc here I would buy in a second. The bar is also great to visit in the evening with my husband. It is so beautiful in there.

When they start the refurb will the pools be closed as well? We are travelling in August.

Thanks!
