Has anyone had any luck with room requests/fax thru Touring Plans? I've read some real success stories but have never used this service myself. Figured I have nothing to lose so I just filled out the online form and sent it. We'll see if I get what I requested .

I have always just used the Disney Online check in and asked for a specific area and floor and we have always gotten our choices. Absolutely love CSR and the staff.

Check out the map on page #1 of this thread to decide for yourself, but I feel the quiet pool in the Ranchos section is the closest to the Siestas Pool Bar.

We're headed there in November. Can anyone who is there now/recently there report on the room refurbs that are going on? Are any completed? I'd love to have a refurbed room while we're there and need to know what to request.

The Cabanas and Ranchos pools are about a 3 min walk to the Dig Site pool bar. The Casitas pool is a little farther probably 5-7 mins.

Last word was that room refurb was on hold until after the holidays.

They never started the rehab other than the fitness center/spa/salon which should be completed by the end of the month. There is no timeframe for it to begin at this time.

We are booked here from 12/6-12/12. I've been reading about some kind of cheer competition around this same time. Is this considered a convention and do they book here at Coronado?

We have a split stay booked for the last week of February starting at Coronado. I have always wanted to stay at this resort but for some reason there has never been any availability until this trip. I'm so excited! We have a preferred room booked but I just saw that I could get a water view for $500 less! I know my DS would love to be near the dig site but that wouldn't be guaranteed with the water view. I can't decide if we should just keep the preferred and be near the main building or take the chance and see if we can get a room near the dig site. How long would the walk be from the preferred rooms to the dig site? Any advice is really appreciated!

I could be wrong but most of the time those types of conventions are at the value resorts while more "business" conventions are at CSR. CSR tends to be pretty quiet.

This group of cheerleaders stays at CSR every year. They are there to perform in the taping of the christmas day parade. They are nothing like the Pop Warner or other cheer groups that are always running around practicing. This is a very well mannered group.

Pop Warner will be at WDW in early Dec.--the 5th-12th I think--my cousin is going. They have stayed at CSR in the past--my cousin goes every year and has stayed at CSR as part of Pop Warner. I am not sure on what hotels they are using this year.

They can stay at any resort they wish but the majority of them stay at the value resorts.

Our last 2 stays at CSR have caught the tail end of POP Warner and also some sort of basketball tourney. I believe they were all put in the back corner of Ranchos. We were in Business Class Cabanas 9B and hardly noticed them. Request a room in Cabanas or upgrade to BC if possible. I never witnessed any rowdy or disruptive behavior either year.

OK good, I did request the Cabanas. I think I'm more worried about how crowded the parks could be. It doesn't seem like there is any "down time" at Disney anymore.

We are staying for the first time in BC in December. What is your favorite part about BC? How "fresh" are the rooms? It has been some time since I last stayed at CSR - and the rooms were very worn. Since CSR will be going through a refurb soon (sounds like they haven't started on the rooms yet), I'm a little concerned how worn the BC rooms will be - or were they updated more recently than the standard rooms?
