My first post here!

We'll be staying at CSR in BC for 10 nights at the end of January and I have a question. I read here that there is beer, wine and sangria served in the BC lounge, is it free? I'm no cheapskate or anything close, i was just wondering! If so, we'll skip spending 20$ for a 6 pack of Lite from the resort store. :rolleyes1

:welcome:

Beer/wine/sangria/soda is included in your lounge access. You obviously aren't a cheapskate if you spluged for BC. lol
No need to purchase beers.

While our next trip is still um, only 12 months away lol; been obsessively researching before we officially book later this week. Debate with DH has been standard room at CSR vs Pop for 10/7-10/15 2016. (With our other non WDW trips planned in 2016, just no way we could do better than a standard room option.) His point for CSR is less craziness, more mature beauty, the main pool for DD (13). I agree on all, but the $$ difference, size layout, and thinking trip too short to really enjoy the resort anyway; has been holding me back. If I felt more comfy on my last 2 concerns, I'd "cave" on the $$ difference. Would any of you mind giving your opinions? 1. What would you say the odds are of them honoring a request to put us in Cabanas (8B) or 8(A) with a standard room reservation for this time of year? (And any tips on what I can do to increase my odds would be appreciated :worship:) 2. Is the $$ difference worth it with 2 non park days in which ADR's will probably get you off the resort for dinner anyway? I mainly see us just using the main pool and food court at the resort we'll stay. CSR's main pool looks awesome, and DD sure to love a slide; but worth the added $$ simply for that? PS: We've never stayed at either before. This past June was 1st family WDW trip, 2wks off property, out of which only 3 nights on property; just to have done it "once". Those 3 nights changed our mind to stay on property (buses/dining plan/WDW atmosphere etc) going forward lol.:earsboy:

This fall will be our first stay at CSR. But we stayed in a Value last time, so I can speak to the reasons we decided to go Mod this time, and our thought process behind it all.

Value stay: We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. We were in the parks from rope drop until early afternoon, back to the resort for a nap/refresh (young kids), and then back to the parks until close most nights. We didn't spend much time at the resort, but what little we explored, we liked. The kids spent a little time in the main pool, and I did laundry. The atmosphere was fun and always seemed busy. We were never bothered by noise (we made plenty ourselves) and decided we would stay Value again sometime. However, the beds were only full size. We're used to sleeping on a King, so it was a bit tight with my husband and me. But we were so tired, we didn't really notice all that much. The rooms were pretty small, but since we didn't spend a lot of time there, it didn't matter.

This time (Mod): We decided to upgrade to a Mod on this trip for a few reasons. 1) We knew we wanted to spend at least 1 day not in the parks all day, (maybe half day and explore resort/resort hop), so we wanted a bit more of a relaxed atmosphere. 2) The kids are a bit older now and not only would the upgrade from full to queen beds make a difference for my husband and me, they would for the kids as well. 3) We had time to save, so we just worked it into the budget. 4) The pool - kind of. We're going in the fall, so swimming will depend on the weather. My kids would love the main pool though, and we hope to spend some time there.

My thought is if you have 2 non-park days with only dinner ADRs, you might enjoy CSR more than Pop. But if the $ difference makes it unaffordable or makes you uncomfortable, you'll be fine at Pop. If you are determined to enjoy yourself at Disney, you will!

If you're staying BC, yes, those drinks are FREE :). We love CSR BC and think it's worth the extra $$. Stayed there last December, again over Super Bowl weekend this year and DH & I will be checking into BC this Friday...4 more days....soooo excited!!!!!

I tried to book BC but we are three and the only option available was a King bedroom. I would have loved that treat, so enjoy, you lucky duck! LOL!

First, if your budget is too tight that paying for a Mod would affect your comfort level with the budget on the trip, stay value. No resort is worth any financial anxiety, you are at Disney and they are all nice.

However....if you are balancing value vs mod and are just trying to determine if if it is worth paying extra, I like to think it is if you will use the amenities. My family uses the resort as part of our vacation, and we do spend a good deal of time there. We like to relax by the pool, and find quiet spaces to read or relax. We find paying a bit more worth the cost, especially if e=we are plannign a day or two without going to the parks. I have not stayed at CSR yet so I cannot weigh in on this resort specifically, but I can say that the moderates have plenty of lovely spaces to stroll or to relax with a cup of morning coffee, and the pools where we have stayed are so much fun. Most have an onsite TS restaurant and while you may not want to use it, the option is available.

If the resort is primarily a place to shower and to sleep, the cost to upgrade may not be worth it, but if your family is plannign to hang out, and is comfortable with the additional cost, I would consider it seriously. But use it! WE love WDW resorts, and have so much fun just enjoying that part of th etrip.

I will say we requested Cabanas this past April (during spring break time, pretty crowded) and were in Cabanas 8b. The location was great. We were so close to the bus stop and main pool it was amazing! The restaurant at the main pool was also serving breakfast at the time (not sure if this is still going on) and it was never crowded and was such a relaxing way to start the day! We just had a standard room booked as well. All we did was on line check in and all our requests were met.

Thank you guys for your replies and the pic of the breakfast offerings just confirmed my decision.

Our decision to book BC was first based on that breakfast being served, i don't wanna pay for the deluxe dining plan which is way too much food for what we can/want to eat. I need to eat in the morning, i'm an early riser, the lounge will be a great place to grab a bite and a coffee while my man and son are still sleeping.

Oh and another quick question... El centro bus stop is the last bus stop when headed to parks, this means we'll often get buses already loaded to the brim?

99 days til arrival. Can't wait!!!

Were you able to request a building online?

Sorry, what is BC? Intrigued about the lounge...

Business Class. It is like Club Level Light I have been told. You have access to a lounge, a light breakfast and some snacks and beverages throughout the day. I have not had the opportunity to stay here, so I cannot speak to it specifically, but on occasion my family will book CL and enjoy the extra services offered.

While I'm no expert when it comes to buses & bus schedules (we normally rent a car), we did use the buses exclusively back on our trip over Super Bowl weekend and can honestly tell you we never experienced a packed bus when we caught it from El Centro.

Like Nancyg56 said, BC (Business Class) is like a "Club level light" where you have access to a lounge in the am which serves continental style breakfast and light apps (cold apps like chips, dips, veggies, deli meats and drinks, both alcoholic and non) in the evenings. Unlike a regular club lounge, it's only open a few hours in the morning and then again for a few hours in the evening (it isn't open throughout the day). I'll try to get some pics of the evening lounge offerings when we check in on Friday and will be sure to post.

Will I be able to get a pack and play at CSR? Is it something I should request ahead of time?
