Kimberle,

Thanks for the reply! I called and asked for North Wing MK View.
Hope we get lucky! Can you tell me if there are sliding glass doors on the 2nd & 3rd floor wing rooms?? I know there are no balconies but I saw a photo that looked as though they had a "standing balcony". If not should I have asked for 1st floor? I didn't want to press my luck by asking for too many things!!!

We have been at WDW during the holidays twice before and BOTH times it was cold. All the CM's said it was very unusual. I hope the whether is milder this trip. What has your experience been??

Thanks again, Eileen

Just back Friday from a split stay between BWV and Cont Tower, MK view.

I love the Contemporary.

I was disappointed, though, on a couple of things.

One, no characters talking on the elevators. What a bummer. We were looking forward to that.

Two, the alarm clock broke when I was trying to fix the time on it and the phone didn't always work right and neither did the TV remote. Also, I had to call maintenance to fix the safe box. So we didn't have use of it the first day.

Other than that, I still LOVE the Contemporary.

you'll LOVE this! 24/7 !!!!! :bounce:

As for the elevators, we inquired about that also!

We were told that Disney upper, upper management felt like it was "unprofessional".

Give me a break!

FYI.....all the CMs I talked to miss the voices too!:(

I think there was a ????? about the 12th floor vs the 14th somewhere....

you get the SAME Itinerary Planning assistance and the same concierge assistance at CR.
The lounge is smaller, no "common" balconies to watch WISHES, and it closes at 4pm.
You should get a fridge in your room stocked with various drinks, like the 14th floor.

Here's some pics from Janet2k's 12th floor CL experience

and more are here!

Also, here's some pics from my 11th floor MK room....odd numbered, so the beds face the MK.

PLUS....here's the pics of our recent 14th floor CR CL stay.

Hope this helps everyone!

Oh great! You know, that was one of the little things that really made me love the CR. Sigh. I wish they would stop removing those little touches of Disney magic. Unprofessional my foot! This is the original MK resort - not a corporate suite.

When did they stop the talking characters on the elevators? I thought that was so cute!

I never really thought I wanted to at the CR, it just looked kind of sterile to me. That said when I called for Dec ressies I tried to get 2 PC rooms for the AP rate but was told they didnt have any but I could get a gv CR room for $146 tax incl--which wasnt that much more than I was going to pay for the 2 PC rooms. Well now Im really excited about staying there. The rooms look cool, the location is going to be great, ect. Cant wait to try it out in Dec.

Questions from someone who will be staying at CR for the first time ever in December:
- I got an AP rate of $131 per night for a standard wing. What kind of view is this and is there any particular room I should ask for to get something nice?
- We have marked on our ressies that we are getting married in Disney and this is our honeymoon. What are the chances of an upgrade? Are those common for CR? We will be there a Wed-Sat the first week of December, so I'm not anticipating big crowds.

There are sliding doors, you can open them like a window. No balaconies what so ever.

Well, we were "going back to Pop" but couldn't pass up the AP rate @ CR so that's where we'll be!! We haven't stayed there since June 2000 so it's good to be going back! It's just a short 4 night trip, but - hey! - that's better than no trip to WDW!!
;)

We had our first ever on-site stay in the CR a few weeks ago, it was only for one night but it was magical. So much so that we are adding 6 nights there on to our 3 week villa holiday next year.

We had a 6th floor MK view and I was disappointed we weren't higher but I needn't have been, the view was still great and we got a fantastic view of the fireworks.

As spending a month in Orlando works out quite expensive we have gone for a wing room this time, I have booked it on AAA rates and I am hoping to get an AP rate closer to the time.

I have requested a north wing and after reading the posts above I will ask for a MK / fireworks view and hope we get lucky.

CR is a great resort we loved the pool area / beach and the rooms were a great size. we had planned to stay at the Coronado next year but we loved the CR so much we are going back.

I am so looking forward to this trip!! ::yes::

I have two CR questions.

1) is there a microwave in the food and fun fact?

2) are either of the pools a "quiet pool" in the eve and open late?

Thanks, we are looking forward to the Cr in three weeks!

Yes, microwaves in food court. I'm sure you can bring your own food to heat.

Pools, 2 pools that are set very close to each other. A large pool shaped liked Mickey's head with a slide, and a round pool. I don't know what the pool hours are.

You'll LOVE this!

Pools are open 24/7 !!!!!!:bounce: :bounce: :bounce:

As long as there's no lightning, hurricanes, etc.....:(

Kimberle....sending LOTS of Pixie DUST ~*~*~*~*~ to send nasty IVAN away!!!!!::yes::
