We are staying on the 12th floor (Tower Club/limited concierge) in April. I have heard some things suggesting that you can call the conceirge before your trip to request things like an MK view -- maybe even that the concierge will contact us first.

Does anyone know how this works? Otherwise, I would just fax in a room request a few days before coming.

Also, I think someone said that even the 12th floor has separate check in (I've read otherwise elsewhere). If that's true, does that mean that you go directly to the 12th floor on arrival, or what?

Thanks for any info!

We stayed the 12th floor in May and they did not have their own check in, you do have to check in on the first floor. I don't think that has changed. The concierge sent a form to us a few months before our stay to put PS requests and any other requests. I always request my room view with CRO/WDW Travel Co when I make the reservation and I've always received my request, I've never faxed. I did request MK view as well on the form from concierge and we did receive the room. Good luck with your request, I hope you receive the MK view, it's amazing! Enjoy your vacation and please feel free to let me know if you have any more questions.

This a great thread. Someone was looking for it, so I thought I would post to bring it to the top of the heap. Thanks everyone. It was really helpful in planning our May CR stay. Jay

We're won't have concierge, but we're still excited about staying at CR for the very first time! We've booked tower, and am hoping for a Magic Kingdom view. But I've heard that the Bay Lake view is beautiful.

In photos I've seen of CR, it looks like the doors to the rooms open overlooking the lobby. Is this the way it is for all the rooms?

The doors to the rooms in the tower open on to the Grand Concourse which is where the monorail station and restaurants are. The lobby is actually on a lower level and is pretty non-descript. We haven't really explored this hotel a lot, but will when we are there in May.

We are thinking of staying here in Dec 04. Are AP rates offered for the tower rooms? Can anyone give me an idea of what the AP rate might be in value season for a tower room?

This thread is full of great info!!

I've been offered a tower room upgrade from garden view in value season for an AP/Florida resident rate of 209 before, but I had an unusually low starting AP rate for the garden view of 121, which I've never seen since. I think the rate is typically more like in the 230-250 range.

i have a question also.....
the price quote i got for the CR is a tower room.....i have no clue, is that a good/ fancy room? are there good and bad tower rooms? compared to outher sections what scale are tower rooms ???
that concierge sp? stuff sounds SOOOO romantic and COOL! - how much more is that?

I LOVE this thread.......it making me lean more to CR than GF.

I don't think that there is any bad tower rooms. You can have a view overlooking the MK or one of Bay Lake. The rooms are large as they are over the entire property. The concierge is offered in both light and full. Full is expensive and on the 14th floor. the Tower Club on the 12th floor is just breakfast and snacks. I did light and we loved it. Others would say it's not worth the money and go for the 14th floor or one of the other's resorts club levels.

Just put down my deposit on our 14th floor concierge room for Sept!!

Whooo hoo!! Can't wait!!! Requested a non-smoking, bay view room. CM was super nice!

Now, I just hope codes will come out as I really don't want to pay $530 (inc. taxes) per night. I will if I have to, but I'd prefer not!!!:p

Has anyone ever gotten AAA rates on the 14th floor concierge? CM said none were available for this room type. Not sure if she ment for my dates or none in general.

Kimberle,

Don't want to be a bummer -- but there usually isn't *any* discount for 14. There are might be discounts for 12 -- I can't recall any, and if so it might be fairly rare. But don't let that stop you from keeping an eye on it and asking, I just want you to have a realistic expectation :) and maybe things might be different with AAA!

We usually go a few times a year, and Contemporary 14 and 12 are the only places DF will consider staying, so any discounts would be extremely welcomed! In 7 years I have never seen a discount for them, and they no longer have a Cast discount for them either.

14 is beautiful and even if you have a bay view, there is a shared lobby on the floor that looks out over MK - so you will have the best of both!!

Thanks Heather. I can "hope"!;)

The CM did offer me a AAA discount for the 12th floor. I passed cause I really want the 14th! If I'm going to be "spoiled" let me be "spoiled" all the way!!!princess:

heathrow42 - I too had heard that there are no discounts offered on the CR 14th Floor. I believe I had read this on this Board. We got a travel employee discount on the 12th Floor for our trip in May. It was a really great rate (like 50% off) and we could not refuse. We originally wanted the Poly or WL, but no discounts were offered for them and I am not certain that there will be codes or AP rates for when we are traveling. While CR 12th was not our first choice, I heard great things about it, so I am now getting excited. Can't wait. Jay

Jay - it is so easy to visit both WL & Poly from CR.

To get to WL, take the small boat (it circles CR/WL/FW). And I'm sure you know to just take the monorail to the Poly.

I'm planning on making PS's at both WCC and Ohanna's.

Thanks Kimberle. I know they are very close to CR, but we did really love staying at the Poly and we compare every resort to it. We did book WL and were starting to get excited about staying there when this travel rate came up. Oh well, we will just have to grin and bear it (Ha Ha).

We have made 17 trips to WDW and are going on #18 in August. We have stayed at the CR several times and, right now, I don't want to stay anywhere else. Other resorts may have better atmosphere but you can't beat the convenience of the CR or the view of the MK. I love going to sleep at night and waking up in the morning with it.

The convenience of walking to the MK can't be beat as well as being the first monorail stop coming back.

Thanks to the Disney Visa 7 for 4 offer... DH & I just got off the phone with CRO and booked a CR Tower room for 10/2 - 10/9.... I am so excited, I could hardly breathe!!! :hyper:

The tough part... not telling the kids... we are going to *try* to keep it a secret! How can I?!?!? :Pinkbounc

Well, anyway, I requested MK view... hopefully will get it! Keep the great tips coming for this CR newbie!

I have a question.... I requested MK view, is that enough, or should I have been more specific with floor numbers?

No, you're better keeping your request as simple as possible. If you request a floor(s), you might get a room on that floor w/ a bay view instead because the MK views were gone.

Enjoy your stay!

I'm Bumping this up cause my DH & I just booked a room there for our anniversary June 21-25 with the new AP rates!! YAY! I have always wanted to stay here and now that we got $149 for a standard room I am thrilled!

Now I just have to read through the last 11 pages;)
