Ok, not sure if you all would want this but I wrote a little database for us Wilderness Lodgers to know who's going and when.

I decided that it would be something great for all of us dis'rs so I added ALL of the hotels to the main database.

So read below then go enter your stay dates into the database so YOU TOO can see "Who's Going"!!

Thanks.

Fred

=======================================

I created a database system that will allow you to enter the dates you are going and search to see who else will be there when you are going!! I call it, "Who's Going".

There are 3 main pages.

1) The main search page. You can search based on a number of criteria but you don't need to use ALL of them. For example, if you wanted to see who is going in January of 2004 you would select January as the month and 2004 as the year.

2) The ADD records page. This is obviously where you would add your stay information. Take note of the password you use as you can use it later to edit or remove your record.

3) The EDIT record page. This is where you can return to change your dates OR delete your entry if need be. Make sure you use the password you entered on the add record page.

I think this will be fun.

Thanks for the link. Hopefully it will catch on!

I have a good question- does anyone know if all the Contemporary rooms have a coffeemaker? I can't remember whether the room did or not. If not, is it available upon request at the Contemporary? I've heard reports about the GF not even bringing one upon request, so I guess I need to find out if the Contemporary is being the same way about it.

freediverdude,
Call housekeeping upon arriving at your room and they will provide you with a coffee maker and two things of coffee.
You might want to bring your own coffee/filters. On our last visit at the CR, they told us they only provided starter coffee and they wanted folks to buy additional at the shop on the 4th floor of the Contemp... Also, if you are partial to ceramic type mugs, bring your own--they only provide styrofoam cups.

Here is what the coffeemaker looks like:

And if that doesn't work for you, you can always try the coffee bar (located between the elevators and the checkin area):

Have fun!

I'm assuming that if you are staying 12th floor concierge that they would have coffee in your room every day. Am I right? Anyone know? Thanks:D

they will have coffee out at the lounge area on the 12th floor.
i have also requested a coffee maker at the poly concierge, they brought it right to my room with a few coffee packets.

Can anyone give me the basic difference between the 12th and the 14th floor? Is it just the hours of concierge service? And is the 14th floor a lot more expensive than the 12th? I dont' understand why they have two styles of concierge.

tinksgirl Thanks-- I know they will have coffee out on the floor in the morning but what I'm asking is what the maids leave in the room for the coffee makers. We've stayed there before and I know we get coffeemakers but people have been saying that they are only leaving 2 packets of coffee for your whole stay---maybe that's the wings--I can't believe they would only givee you 2 packets of coffee in concierge.:(

Thank you dcfromva! I thought that you could at least request a coffeemaker, but I wanted to be sure. Wow, even a picture! I'm impressed!

princess crazy
i have stayed at poly concierge and beach club concierge. contemporary tower 12 floor in 19 days, the only time i have
had a coffee maker in a concierge room was apon request
there has always been one in the other resorts i have stayed non concierge level.

Alison Wonderland- the difference between 12th floor and 14th floor is the food and the service. 12th floor gives you breakfast and afternoon snacks. The staff is gone by 4:00. On the 14th floor, you get breakfast, lunch, snacks, and dinner treats. They also serve cordials on the 14th floor and none on the 12th. They 14th is much more expensive than the 12th floor. However, many prefer the 14th floor because they want the "whole nine" I didn't mind the 12th floor, because breakfast was all that my family needed. It was cool to have snacks left in our room everyday in case the kids were hungry. I think it's a matter of personal preference.

Does anyone have any information or pictures of the Jr. Suites in the garden wings?
Thanks!:hyper:

I was hoping someone could tell me if there are balconies in every room at the contemporary, or are they only with the more expensive type rooms?

Question by first time poster:

We are planning on taking my 15 month old and her grandparents to Contemporary in October 2004...

1)How hard is it to book a good 12th floor Tower room, and a graden suite (with room preferences) a few months before going using the AP rates?

2)Any experiences taking a child that young? We love disney and hope that it will still be fun, but simply a different experience.

THANKS ALOT IN ADVANCE!!!!

DisMomofTwins,
Only the tower rooms have balconies. However, if you get a first floor room in the garden wings you get a patio with chairs and a table, and some of these look out on the lake, which is also a wonderful view.

I have only had concierage service at the polynesian and now we are hooked. With 3 kids, it was very convenient to get evening snacks. In fact, many times, we didn't need to eat dinner, we were so full (don't mean to sound cheap).

I tried to get the polynesian concierage with an Ap discount or other code discount but couldn't. However, the Contemporary was available with concierage or tower club.

Could someone describe in more detail what kind of food the Contemporary offers in the evening? At the polynesian, they would have seafood one night, chicken and rice, along with desserts, etc.

I am just trying to figure out if the extra money for full concierage is worth it.

Also, I am sure the nightime view of the MG is great, but how do you all feel about the daytime view. Would the bay view be better if you are on the 12th or 14th floors? I thought the MG view would be great, but my 14 year old thinks the bay view with the electrical parade would be better.

Thanks, Carolyn from NJ

GoofyandMore,
If you don't mind, could you tell me how much they quoted you for the full concierge with the AP rate? I've been offered the tower club for what I thought wasn't a too outrageous price before, but I wondered how much I would have to save to stay on the top floor if I could get an AP rate.

Freediverdude and all, I just booked the tower club from 4/1-4/7 (2 rooms bec. mom and brother are coming too) and it was about $366 a night for each room including taxes. I don't recall what the top level costs but I think it was a few hundred dollars more and wasn't available.

The polynesian concierage-garden view is really what I was looking for which was $355 with the ap discount.

Now, I need the experts to give me their opinions on the tower club and if I should be happy or still look for the poly.

I really wanted the evening refreshments because we usually use it, but I am thinking that we can eat fast food in the park while where are there and not have to run back for the evening refreshments and we will eat at buffets a couple or few times.

Someone posted that the elevators were a pain with a stroller so that concerned me. They said you have crowded elevators and you have to switch to get to the monorail. But at the poly I remember having to walk to the Great Ceremonial House and going to the elevator on the second floor to get to the monorail so maybe there's not much difference.

How are the pools? Anything different or fun or just big pools?

Do they give you a microwave in the Tower club if requested?

Also, is there fruit in the lounge like the poly has?
Thanks, Carolyn
