We're officially booked at Bay Lake Tower 1/28 to 2/3! So excited!! This will be our first family trip. We were originally planning to stay in a suite at Art of Animation, but when I found out about renting DVC points and did the math...we decided it was worth it to say at BLT instead.

Welp, I hope you weren't too fond of the idea of AoA, because you'll never want to try it after you see the convenience and luxury of BLT!

Sorry to change our dates! We will be in DC end of October and into early November so we have decided to do our next Disney trip at the end of January.

We will be in an atrium club tpv room from 1/26-2/2

We just booked our first stay at CP for 10/01/17!!! I've wanted to stay in this resort ever since I was little! The monorail was always my favorite, so this will basically be the greatest thing ever! We booked tower, and are hoping if budge allows further on, we can upgrade to MK view. I've just started going through the thread and love all the info so far!! I'll try to hold off on most questions until I've read through things! :magnify:

Edited to add: I do have a question I haven't found the answer to yet that's kind of bugging me - I know we can walk home if we are at a late EMH from MK, but if the monorail stops running one hour after the park closes (regular hours), what happens if we are at EMH late at Epcot? From what I understand there is no bus... so how would that work?

I'm planning a trip next June for my daughter's graduation trip. We've never stayed at the Contemporary before. Because of cost, I was thinking about a Garden Wing room. From what I understand, there are Standard View and Garden View rooms in the Garden Wing. Is there a map that shows which rooms are standard view and which are garden view? Are some closer to the tower?

I think the whole side of the garden wing that faces the parking lot/convention center are standard view-some of those would be close to the tower. We literally were all the way down the other end near the canal where the boat from WL goes through to MK and we had a standard view.

we rented points for 2 lake view studios at BLT! Are there adjoining rooms available?
There are some studio rooms that are side by side, but if you mean connecting rooms then no. All studios at BLT connect to a 1-bedroom so they can be used as 2-bedroom lock-offs.

Can you add us to the list? Getting to WDW on Aug 2 but not checking into BLT until Aug 6. After many BLT stays, we are stepping outside our bubble and hanging at AKL for the first few days of the trip. We have officially outgrown the BLT studio and will now be in a 1 bdrm. Also part of why the ALK stay, we're saving a few points by staying studio there—while we were fresh and still actually like being around each other. Save the bigger room for when we are hot, tired and cranky lol.

So Aug 6-14 for us. 1 Bdrm Standard view. Thanks!! Can't wait to be 'home'

Welcome! You're going to love the one bedroom - so roomy and modern, great views and two bathrooms.

sorry for the confusion. :) Im curious to see what the vintage posters look like that someone posted about a few pages back.

Here are 4 of mine. The package came with 12 (unframed) posters for $19.95.

They have fencing up along the water of the beach by the CR pool and signs saying the beach is closed.

Thank you for the (sad) update, @WDW Freak.

I am sorry if this has been posted (205 pages is a lot to look through). We are staying at Bay Lake Tower in Feb. I have read that BLT rooms are getting a soft rehab. Does anyone know if this has started, and when all rooms are expected to be finished? Also, can anyone direct me to pictures of the new rooms (if this has even started yet). Thanks so much!

In POST 2 I have a Resort News section:

BLT SOFT GOODS VILLA REHAB
4/2/2016 - 10/24/2016

Anyone have any advice on when to leave the BLT pool area to watch MNSSHP fireworks and where to watch them from?

I don't have a time to suggest, but do you have access to the TotWL? Otherwise, CR's 4th floor Observation Deck is a great spot. From BLT, it's right after the SkyBridge, before you enter CR and to your right.

Just got back from a quick weekend + our first Contemporary stay. Absolutely worth it. =) Loved the MK access, and really can't complain about this view....

Thank you for your photo and it sounds like your view made a great impression on you:)

Most expensive parking lot view in the world! ;)

Somehow it's easy not to notice the parking lot. :)

I'm one of those who keeps looking down at the parking lot so I prefer a BLV. Of course at night, it's much less of a distraction and you get a great view of the fireworks.

Welcome! What a great first family trip and it should be a low attendance period. I'll log your dates in POST 2.

Sounds like another great time of the year to go and no problem changing your dates:)

Congratulations on booking your first CR stay! If you post your dates, I'll add them to the Log-o-rail in POST 2:)

Whatever the reason for the monorail not running, buses will be provided. Let us know if you have more questions.

With current magical express, do you schlep your luggage over to BLT or is that a bell services function?

You can schlep or use Bell Services.

Great choice!

I've drawn a pink arrow on this map from the ROOM chapter showing where all the SV rooms are located. All the other rooms are GV. The part of the South Garden Wing with the SV rooms is the closest to the Tower.

Departing our Tower Club room 4901 right now. We had a great trip, low crowds, good food...loved the resort. Yes, the water is fenced off and signs are up on the beach.

Did you take any Tower Club lounge photos that you could post, @Regan117? By low crowds, do you mean in the lounge or in general?

QUESTION FOR ANYONE JUST THERE: How were the lines into the park now that everyone must go through security screening?

Hope you had an easy trip home.

Yes, we are soooo looking forward to it. we toured the suite when we were there last 2 summers ago and it was one of those moments where my wife and I looked at each other and said "without a doubt!" LOL And ironically, we were at a BBQ this weekend and was talking to a friend about it, so we pulled up the room floorpans and even I forgot how spacious it is. Now I'm super excited.

Also.... those posters...I LOVE THOSE!!!! Especially being I use to work at SST, and the CR is one of our fav resorts, I need to get my hands on those. Do you know if they still sell those?

we are booked atrium club tpv. If we request close to lounge is that a bad idea room or view-wise? We would like to be close to elevators and lounge without sacrificing view. It seems that any of the rooms would have a great view but am I missing anything?

Thank you!! We are SO excited! Never thought we'd be able to stay here! Our dates are 10/1/2017-10/7-2017. Can't wait! Loving this thread as well! Thank you so much for putting it together!! I'm so glad I found it before we booked, we had no clue the Garden was separate, just assumed you were either in the tower or BLT. I would have been crazy disappointed if we had booked GW! I can't wait to step out of the room and see the monorail!

Not sure why you want to be close to the lounge / elevators since the hallway each direction from the central hallway is only 10-12 rooms long. My personal favorites are the rooms on the north end of the atrium TPV. They have the best view of the full MK directly( Rooms 4839-4848, 4839 is near center and 4848 is at the very north end of the tower ). The south end TPV rooms can also see the same view as an indirect view. The direct view of the south end of the atrium TPV rooms sit near / over the Convention center building with a view of Bay Lake toward the Grand Floridian.

Edit: Correct 0 to 8 in room numbers and add direction of room sequence.

Thanks!

Quick review from our perspective:
Just got back from 4 day/3 night stay CR Tower TPV - Room 4538 9th floor center.
We loved it! The beds were perfect. Slept like a log. The view can't be beat. We splurged for room service breakfast on our first morning there and ate it out on the balcony. Loved being able to watch Wishes from the balcony with the music and narration on the TV in the room. The walk over to MK was simple and fairly short. Staff was always courteous and friendly - they even went over the top and left some treats in our room as we were celebrating our 25th anniversary there.

The only negative thing I can even think of about the resort has to do with the bus stop. It is shaded... sort of. The roof is the same opaque-ish fiberglass that they used for the awnings above the front entrance, but they're more in the sun than the front. It kind of holds in the heat a bit. Some overhead fans out there would be nice, or just a solid shading roof.

Really though, that's nothing to even get concerned about. We had a great stay, we love the contemporary and now want to stay there all the time.

I believe I can help a bit. We stayed in room 4841. I felt like it was far enough away from the lounge while not being too far away.

Here's the view:
