Resort Thread Disney's Club Level (CL) Thread

In December we were able to get a 4th and 5th fast pass at the club level concierge desk. They were very helpful with other questions too! I love CL level at Disney!
I thought I heard Poly didn't have the texting service? Was this at poly?

Learn from my mistake. Do your own ADRs.

We only had two requests and I sent them to BC IPO via the planner as requested and called them with my credit card. I was told everything was good to go.

At 7 pm I checked MDE and saw no reservations had been made. As DS doesn't know about the trip yet, I didn't call but emailed IPO.

Of course in those 13 hours that dining was open, one of the reservations is now unavailable. And they never bothered to even try the second reservation even after I asked 3 times what was going on.

Finally after DS was asleep, I called dining about the second reservation myself.

I've spoken with the BC IPO manager and we will see what he can do about untangling the mess but I'm feeling pretty unmagical right about now.

(He did apologize but that doesn't unscrew my plans or the single thing DH asked that we do this trip...)

Second part of the trip opens on Sunday and GF IPO has those requests. I think I'll be getting up at 6 am to do them myself instead.

Oh my goodness, I am so very sorry this has happened to you. That is totally unacceptable service. It's good you spoke to the BC IPO manager. I hope they are able to work things out for you.

My only advice about the second part of the trip is to be sure to talk to GF IPO and let them know your plan, especially if you're going to do them yourself. If this had happened to me, I'd probably call and politely tell GF IPO what happened with BC IPO and I was concerned about this Sunday.
I will say that sometimes the phone lines are busy, and they ring over to another IPO. I've never stayed at GF, but I was connected with their IPO a couple of years ago. I had something that needed attention pretty quickly. I figured they'd make a note and I'd hear back from YC IPO. Nope. They said they were very happy to help, and they did. They couldn't have been nicer or more helpful.
I hope they are the same with you and your upcoming trip.:daisy:

Sorry to hear that! I always do my own... I think it's worth the extra time knowing you'll get what you want. Good luck trying for the 2nd part!!

Hello everyone! I hope you are all well! We had a great trip in November at WL CL! We are now planning this November's trip! Our friends who travel with us just stayed at the Lodge the beginning of February and said we should definitely stay somewhere else this year because of all the construction. We have only done WL CL and I know I'll be sad, but I understand.

I wanted to come to you guys because I know you're the most experienced in CL!! We are torn between AK CL and BC CL. I am a picky eater, as well as my kids! Just wanted to see if there is anything we would eat (during dinner hours). At WL, they often had chicken tenders which came in very handy!!!! Are the offerings strictly African selections at AK? I saw in one review about a year ago they had a 'kids table' with food. Is that still there? Do both CL have a kids area for coloring and a TV? Also, are either open past 10:00? Thanks for everything!!!

I heard back from IPO today (not sure if you saw my initial reply?). Anyway, she said that AKL is the only CL at this point that has eliminated separate kids' offerings, and the only one that has a chef there in the afternoon. She said that chef prepares 5-7 appetizers but couldn't provide a menu, the only ones she identified were ribs sometimes and African stew, and that they've had "great success" with it so far. I'm not sure about the separate table/area for kids, or how late it's open! If anyone has been there recently, I'd love to hear some examples of afternoon offerings and whether there's still a kids area - thanks!

You can ask the castmembers working the CL desk when you arrive. I know they have a copy you can look at and possible extra copies. :)

I'm so sorry this happened to you. It's one thing if what you wanted wasn't available, but it's another to be told everything is good to go, only to find out later nothing was booked :(. I hope the BC IPO manager is able to do something to get the ADR you want.

I agree, totally unacceptable service! I think calling GF IPO is a good idea, just to let them know that you are concerned. If you choose to book yourself, I hope you are able to get exactly what you want. Good luck!

Our checkin was handled downstairs and then we were escorted upstairs. The cast member upstairs only handed us a letter with the times the lounge was open. Now, we were here at the Beach Club in September and offered a drink etc. nothing this time. My husband asked for some water and we were given some in a to go cup. So very different then our September trip and also very disappointing.

This so wrong!!! Totally not acceptable.

Sorry this has happened to you. It may be worth calling the GF IPO to see if they can help you now. Since you have another CL room booked they will be able to help you for that stay as well. I have done this in the past....before the cutbacks YMMV...They just ask for your confirmation number to check that you have another CL ressie. Hope you get everything you want.

Hey there! Thanks for responding! I thought AKL CL was the only one to actually have a kids section? I saw it on a couple of people's review blogs. That stinks if they got rid of it, my little ones were excited to have their own table to go to!! I think I read the lounge closes at 10. Happy planning!!

I know the 4th FP texting service is not guaranteed to happen, but will the CL staff book a 4th FP for you at their desk?
I'm curious because if we leave one park and head back to Poly for a break and then heading back out to a different park at night, will they book us a 4th FP when we arrive back at Poly for our break? Just thinking we would have a better shot of getting a decent 4th FP if CL can do it.

Yes the CL desk CM's can make FP's for you while you are at the resort.

I try not to be snobby, but maybe I am. I will be very frustrated if I wait 20 minutes (a real possibility if you're the last off the ME bus) for check in to then be escorted to the location where I actually check in. Why not just check in at the main lobby at that point? How hard is it to have a separate line for CL, even if that line just works like a FP?

Maybe this encourages me to do online though--then can't I just go right to the club level without waiting in line? (Have never done online check in before so not really sure how that works.)

I did online check in twice. In September for GF RPC and was escorted upstairs and checked in as usual. It didn't save any time and the MB's didn't work on the elevator until we checked in upstairs. The other time was the year before at POR...still had to wait in a long line to check in...didn't save any time at the resort. If they are going to cut out the greeters to take you upstairs they need to have the MB's work to get you to the CL floors. I didn't try it for our YC CL stay this month, since it didn't save any time for me the two times I tried it. Our MB's didn't work on the elevator even after checking in.:sad2: It is NOT acceptable to have to wait in a long front desk line only to have someone escort you to CL to check in. I agree, if they are going to do that why can't they just have a separate CL check in desk. I have read reports of people doing online check in and getting a text to go straight to their room...I even got an email to do this... but that has not worked for me the two times I tried it. :confused3

Maybe they eliminated the kids' separate food items (like chicken fingers, etc.), and not the table/tv area, hopefully? My initial email was regarding the food, since I have picky eaters and I had heard they had changed things, and she replied about the changes due to concerns with food allergies. So hopefully they still have a little kids corner for them to sit! Happy planning to you too!

Yes, I'm referring to the food table too. I hope they still have it! From what I saw they still have the kids tv area!!

It's not any additional CMs required to have a separate line that says CL check in here, and then when someone shows up in that line, the next available CM doing checkins escorts that person to the CL checkin lounge.

I'm confused about what's going on with the kids' offerings. Is there a plan to take away kids' food in the clubs? Is this somehow being reported as an allergy thing? Because I don't buy that--a parent of a kid with food allergy is super-diligent regardless of whether the buffet is labeled "Kids" or "Grown-Ups" and regardless of whether the item is a spring roll or a chicken nugget.
